A beautiful property- quiet, serene, with a stunning view. Simply but adequately appointed, with nice thoughtful touches from the hosts. Close to many activities on the Blue Hill/Deer Isle area. Thanks Steve!
Beautiful spot on the Maine coast. We arrived to a bouquet of dahlias, coffee, trail mix, and blueberry jam all provided by the host for our stay. The house sits on a hill overlooking two coves and is so quiet at night. The view out over Stover Cove was idyllic and eating lobster rolls on the deck was superb.Steve immediately responded to a question from us about the house and the house was clean and tidy.Lots to do in the area, even with the fall in full swing. We put a dent in the crustacean population of Maine, eating clams, oysters, and lobsters during our stay. We took our two German Shepherds with us, and they give the house two paws up.
This is an excellent place! The view is to die for! The house is quite nice, feels very comfortable, and is nicely sequestered. We explored all around Deer Island, Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and Booth Bay. We really enjoyed ourselves! We’d stay here again!
We had a great vacation at Steve's property! Cottage had everything we could possibly need and amazing views! Lots of tasty places to eat, trails to hike and places to launch kayaks nearby.Perfect for some R&R!!
Absolutely the most lovely, relaxing, peaceful week! The house was so welcoming and appointed just perfectly. Everything was exactly as expected…only better!
This was great stay for our family of four. Lots to do in the area and an hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia. We loved the big deck and amazing view. House is well stocked with special treats from the owner. No air conditioning so we had one hot night but otherwise great!
Great time away despite the overcast/rainy weather. Maine /Acadia/Blue Hill just beautiful home away from home destinations! Our little family (dogs included) had a nice vacation.
What a magical place this is! We had a wonderful week here relaxing, touring the beautiful area, and watching the seals fishing. It is very quiet here, the view is spectacular, and the house comfortable. If you are looking to experience the beauty and quiet of Maine, this is the place to do it. We can’t wait to come back. Our dog loved the property too, the dirt road was perfect for early morning and end of day walks.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was great with a nice view from the deck and eating area. Well stocked kitchen. It was a great location - very private. The view was awesome. A lot to do in the area. The owner was great to work with and very responsive. We enjoyed the campfire as well. We plan on staying again.
We loved celebrating our 21st Anniversary at Oak Ledge. It is a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing place with special touches. Our stay fed our souls and we made wonderful memories. We look forward to coming back next year. Will definitely be recommending it to family and friends!
Everything was perfect for our needs, and the extras much appreciated. VRBO description was completely accurate. We will savor the peace, quiet and wonderful views for the coming year and hope to be back again. Hosts fully responsive in a timely way.
It was everything we had hoped for and more.
Lisa & Steve have done a great job making Oak Ledge a comfortable home away from home. Our family couldn't get enough of the amazing view from the living room, bedrooms, deck, etc. From the moment we pulled up into the driveway, we knew we would have a wonderful week. And it was even better walking into the clean and comfortable house.
It was a week we'll never forget and we can't wait to return! Thank you!!
We really enjoyed the peaceful location of this property. The views of the water are simply stunning. The deck is the perfect place for morning coffee. The bird feeders were so enjoyable— I especially loved all the hummingbirds. As others have said: while you feel alone in nature here, you are actually just a short trip down the road from Bagaduce Lunch etc. It took us just an hour to get to Acadia, so we were able to make multiple today trips there and back over the week. We appreciated the owners’ communication and welcome items (coffee, trail mix etc) upon arrival. We would love to return to Maine.
