Our beautiful villa is set amongst unspoilt countryside . total peace and quiet, tranquil surroundings with birdsong, nature, and wildlife offering relaxation, solitude and away from all the stress of modern day life.
The Villa stands in its own grounds with great views no dwellings close by and is a completely private space for you to enjoy the charming surroundings.no one lives at the property.

The emphasis on our villa is definitely one of pure relaxation and what better way of doing just that with the heavenly hot tub. Hydrotherapy massage jets are good for well-being and have amazing health benefits, de stress and calm your mind ready for a restful night’s sleep, or just relax, listen to some of your favorite music with the built in blue tooth speakers. Unwind under the star lit sky. The master bedroom has a spacious luxurious king size bed and on suite bathroom,
and the second bedroom has a comfortable double bed and a single bed with an on suite shower room.
There are some lovely walks near the river Mira and a restaurant at castro de cola and and archaeologic site steeped in history, there is also a riding stables five minutes away so a lot to explore close by.

Ourique Paradise

I had a couple of more than relaxing days here. The cottage is really nice and well equiped. Pool and Jacuzzi are amazing. And having dinner on the terrace while the sun sets is of stunning Beauty. Mel and Neill are perfect hosts. Hopefully I may be back in the future.

Perfect "get away from it all" Property

Had a very relaxing 3 week stay. The property is perfect if you are looking for some peace and quiet in a rural setting. Hosts are very responsive and often checked in via WhatsApp to ensure everything was ok for me. Highly recommended!

Relax and unwind in this peaceful villa

We had a great three week stay, it is so quiet there, great pool, charming villa, well equipped everything you need. Nature is on your doorstop. Saw lots of wildlife, spotted several birds I have never seen before. Neill and Mel were wonderful and friendly hosts, they were able to answer any of our questions, before our holiday and during our stay. Would definitely go back their next time we go to Portugal.

Peace, quiet and idilic

This is a gem of a find. A lovely villa, a wonderful pool and lots of peace and quiet. Excellent wifi, beautiful villa, English TV, what more could you want! If you wish to escape the hectic lifestyles we all seem to lead and enjoy blissful peace and quiet, then this is the ideal place for you. I would rather not let people know about this place and only did the review after making our booking for next year. The owners are really lovely and even supplied shopping for us when we arrived. I could drone on about how great this place is, but you won't believe me till you try it. Roll on next year!

Good stay

The property is well located (just the national road that is near the house and you can sometimes ear the cars passing by). The house is very well equipped. Jacuzzi is great. The pool is fantastic,so big! Just take care of white bikini (there's a product against algea that turns things yellow). We didn't meet the owners but they were always available by WhatsApp. They had prepared wine, cheese, bread, beers,etc... for our arrival. It was very kind. The only thing that disappointed me was the cleanliness in some parts of the house. The rubbish bin wasn't empty,they were spider webs, the kitchen cupboards were not very clean,etc... I only mentioned it when we left because we arrived late on Saturday night and they couldn't have done anything at this time (and I wanted to have a good communication during my stay.) My little 3 years girl plays on the floor and it was not possible to wait for someone to clean. So I did it. I told the owners when we left. They apologized but told me it was not a big deal. I didn't like this reaction. It's sad. We left the house cleaner that it was.

When our guests arrive we always say to them if they have any problems at all to tell us so at least we have the chance to address the issues , if there are any, normally most things can be done very quickly ,we cannot do anything after they have gone home and much prefer open communication with our guests . Cleanliness is extremely important to us. I have the greatest respect for our cleaning team we have open discussion on how to keep our standards high. We follow a two step process with cleaning and sanitation. Having one piece of cardboard in the bin does not warrant the place not being cleaned !! The house sits in 5 acres of beautiful countryside so we will get a lot of wildlife , maybe if a spiderweb is an issue our property is not for you , I rather think as most of our previous guests have given us 5 stars it is not too much of an issue . I have read all of our previous reviews and not one of the guests has even mentioned the house not being clean, quite the contrary . In fact it took us a long time to clean after these particular guests left. In the conversations I had with Sylvia the only issue she addressed to me was that she couldn’t understand why she was charged for the child but I explained why and she appeared to have accepted that . We were still happy to receive four stars though it’s still very good !

Das perfekte Haus zur Entspannung.

Ein tolles Haus mit allem, was man braucht. Sehr schöner und großer Pool. Unser großer Hund hatte sehr viel Spaß auf dem großen eingezäuten Grundstück. Trotz bis zu 40 Grad Hitze war es im Haus dank zweier Klimaanlagen immer angenehm kühl. Toller Empfang mit leckeren Getränken und Essen. Bei Fragen und Problemen waren die Besitzer gut erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Erne wieder.Problemen waren

Relax verblijf

Heel mooi en proper afgelegen huisje. We genoten vooral van de privacy en het zwembad. De supermarkt is vlakbij. De zuidkust is eenvoudig te bereiken en tof om enkele uitstappen te doen. Contact met de eigenaar verliep heel vlot, alsook de check-in. Wij raden het zeker aan!

Entspannung pur

Wir haben traumhafte 6 Wochen im Haus von Neill und Mel verbracht. Schon der Empfang war sehr herzlich und wir bekamen einen Korb mit Leckereien, da muss man für den ersten Abend gar nicht einkaufen. Der Garten ist riesig und eingezäunt, so dass die Hunde freien Auslauf hatten. Das Haus liegt an der Schnellstrasse, nach hinten versetzt. Je nach Wind ist der Verkehr mehr oder weniger zu hören, aber man gewöhnt sich daran. Bei Problemen und Fragen sind die Vermieter jederzeit erreichbar! Den Pool und Whirlpool haben wir nicht benutzt, es war noch zu kalt(nachts). Doch beides wird wöchentlich gereinigt. Im Winter sind die Nächte noch sehr kalt, darum muss mit Holz gefeuert werden, das man beim Nachbar kaufen kann. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind innerhalb von 1-1,5 Stunden mit dem Auto erreichbar. Einkaufen kann man in Ourique, mit dem Auto 7 Min zu fahren Ich wäre sehr gerne noch länger geblieben, habe mich ins Land verliebt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Erholsamer Urlaub in einem schönen Anwesen

Das Ferienhaus für sich genommen entspricht dem, was man auf den Bildern sehen kann. Das Grundstück ist sehr groß und der Pool ist groß genug, um wirklich darin zu schwimmen. Das Haus liegt in der Nähe der IC1, einer Schnellstraße. Es liegt aber in einer Senke, so dass die Geräusche von der Straße uns zu keinem Zeitpunkt gestört haben. Ich würde die Lage daher als ruhig bezeichnen. Die Umgebung hat in einem Umkreis von 1 Stunde Autofahrt durchaus einiges zu bieten, sofern man kein Partyleben erwartet. Die touristische Infrastruktur ist - abgesehen von der Atlantikküste und natürlich der Algarve - überschaubar bis gar nicht vorhanden. Einkaufen kann man in Ourique, Restaurants mit portugiesischer Küche gibt es einige im näheren Umkreis. Es wird eine einfache Küche geboten. Meist sind es Fleischgerichte, wobei das Fleisch aus der näheren Umgebung stammt, sehr hochwertig ist und sorgfältig zubereitet (meist gegrillt) wird. Die Beilagen fallen demgegenüber deutlich ab. Die Vermieter stammen aus England, sind ausgesprochen freundlich und haben uns mit einer liebevoll zusammengestellten Erstausstattung für Abendessen und Frühstück überrascht. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Rust Ruimte & Comfort

Een aanrader als je houdt van rust, ruimte en comfort. wij hadden twee heerlijke weken in deze onontdekte streek van Portugal. Het huis is prima en het zwembad en de jacuzzi zijn heerlijk. Bovendien een enorme ruimte om het huis met veel verschillende terrassen en zitjes. Mel en Neill zijn bijzonder vriendelijke en attente eigenaren die goed communiceren..

Prachtige locatie

Bij het aanrijden van de accommodatie viel er gelijk een rust over ons. Wat een ruimte! Wat een geweldige plek! En wat een rust! Onze hond een Berner sennenhond, was ook gelijk thuis. Kon nergens het terrein af dus ook voor hem een geweldige plek. Neil en Mell zijn geweldige gastheer en gastvrouw. Konden overal en altijd een beroep op ze doen. Zeer behulpzaam.

Entspannung pur! Top Ferienhaus in ruhige Lage!

Wir sind warm und herzlich in Empfang genommen worden. Sogar für ein Super-Willkommenskorb wurde gesorgt und hat den Aufenthalt abgerundet. Wir haben die Ferienwoche mit vollen Zügen genossen und konnten uns super entspannen. Das Haus bietet allen Komfort und wir waren völlig Autark. Herzlichen Dank an Mel und Neill!! Quiet peaceful relaxing Villa

Mel and Neil were both quick to respond to any questions/ queries . The villa had everything you could want / need and more ! The location was perfect for what we wanted , total peace and quiet . A short drive to any bar/ restaurant and also plenty of sights to visit to fill your day with the coast under an hours drive . All facilities were perfect and Mel even provided us with breakfast essentials, wine and beer ! Enough to keep us going for a few days ! Extremely kind of them . Perfect for families or couples looking for undisturbed relaxation . We feel fully recharged . What makes this property unique

The property has gates and secure fencing all around and is totally private and ideal for pets.
Great place for walking, horse riding, bird watching cycling, fishing and many nice places to eat. The santa clara lake is a very large lake and is close by, the west coast beaches are stunning, The Algarve is not far away if you want to visit the busier costal resorts.

In the fields close by there are horses, sheep, pigs and many farm animals Castro da cola has lovely walks by the river Mira and a nice resturant overlooking it, Ourique is only 10 minutes by car and has resturants, shops , bars, petrol station very pretty quiet village with all you need and a supermarket close by.
