Or promenade along the lovely river walk and cross Battersea Bridge to Chelsea, just an easy and scenic12 minutes walk away from the flat. Located in a purpose-built Edwardian gated complex with its own well-tended gardens, where in the right weather you can sit outside with a drink or picnic. GETTING ABOUT!
The nearest station is Clapham Junction (Europe's busiest railway station!), a 10 minute walk away. From Clapham it is a 7 minute journey to Victoria, Waterloo or 35 minutes to Gatwick Airport.
There is a super-convenient bus stop just outside our complex which can take you to Chelsea, Pimlico and Victoria or towards Clapham Junction ( just 5 minutes away) and Roehampton.
We are also an easy riverside stroll from the Plantation Wharf stop for the Riverbus, which takes you east along the Thames, past the Houses of Parliament and on to some of the most iconic London landmarks, or west to Hampton Court Palace. An easy and civilised way of getting about and taking in the City! There is also a 'city bike' rank just outside our complex.
As we have tried to explain in the information regarding the apartment...its is NOT particularly near an underground station.
However, it IS at the centre of several red bus routes which will take you everywhere you would ever need to go, and they run regularly, conveniently (you just use your contactless card), and they are clean and civilised. I have been on buses is some US cities, and they are not like those! Above all, you can sight see en route, and they are rarely full......unlike the underground. Riding along on the top deck of a red London bus is one of the MUST DO things to do in London! The 170 bus stops right outside our complex, and numerous other really useful routes are available at a stop 6 minute walk away.
In addition to this, we are a close stroll along the river to Plantation Wharf river bus stop. This is THE BEST way of travelling right into the centre of London in a civilised and scenic cruise, going past loads of landmarks, including the House of Parliament! The cost is only slightly more than the tube, and, incidentally, the cost of the bus is somewhat less than a typical tube fare.
In addition to this, the location of the apartment is terrific for walking around Battersea, along the riverside to beautiful Battersea Park, or into historic Chelsea and the famous King's Road. You can walk to Chelsea in around 15 minutes alongside and then across the river. London is one of the GREAT walking cities generally, and we are in the perfect location to enjoy this aspect. Quiet (there is NO traffic noise!) but easy to get anywhere from.
The flat has excellent wifi and wifi Smart TV. It also has it's own parking space which is available at extra cost.
This is stylish spacious flat for two people in a well maintained building in an attractive and peaceful setting, close to the river. It is in an excellent position to make the best of the fantastic facilities close by. It is not suitable for children, as there are a number of mirrored/delicate furnishings and fittings which will not withstand careless usage. But it is those things which lift it above the average rental! Guests must be 30+ years old, and are expected to act with consideration at all times to neighbours in this quiet and peaceful location! 7 night minimum booking, two people only.
WHICH AIRPORT?!
If you have a choice of Heathrow or Gatwick, GATWICK is much easier for reaching the flat, in that the train goes from the airport to Clapham Junction in 35 minutes for modest cost (book via www.trainline.co.uk Gatwick to Clapham Junction) and the 170 bus which stops outside the station (Grant Rd. exit) takes you in 5 minutes to right outside the Battersea Village complex (Battersea High St. stop). Contactless cards work on all London Buses.
From Heathrow.. Uber is probably the cheapest and easiest way to get to the flat, or a black cab which is reliable but much more expensive. Some web based transfer companies seem to offer transfers for £60+. You can take the Piccadilly tube line from Heathrow to Gloucester Rd. or South Kensington, and get a bus or cab from there, which will take about 10 minutes to the flat.
