The idea of Gandhar was born with the intent to conciliate eco tourism and the discovery of India's rural areas in a comfortable setting.
The Lodge was built with respect of the environment in mind, using natural solutions such as bamboo constructions, wood fire water heater or again betel wood platings. For you to disconnect from work and the stress of modern life, we purposely chose not to install any Internet connection.

This leaves you time to reconnect with yourself, your family or your friends and enjoy what the area has to offer. Our caretakers, Kiran and his wife, are here to assist you and answer to each of your needs during the length of your stay.

or an Indian for breakfast.

- Enjoy an empty beach boarded by ranges of coconut trees
- Discover the art of Rangoli and of statue making
- Go watch a Bollywood movie at the local "cinema"
- Relax at home with a book or around the table with board games
To enjoy the experience to the fullest, our specific program on 2 days / 3 nights takes you to through the local village life, the Beach and the Nature :

Day 1
Sail early morning from the Gateway of India to Mandwa in the catamaran. Leave the Gateway at 08.15 h and reach Mandwa jetty by 09.00 h. On alighting, a car will be waiting for you for a 15 min transfer to the lodge. On arrival, enjoy a traditional welcome while you will be served with tea/ coffee and snacks. Relax in the lounge area or potter in the vegetable garden to pick your own vegetables.

Have a relaxed lunch followed by a small siesta. After your afternoon tea, set on foot to explore the small and peaceful village of Thal.
You can walk to the Gram Panchayat (social center of the village) and interact with the Sarpanch (elected head of the village).
Later, visit the market. Return back to your eco lodge at a leisurely pace. Evening dinner served at the lodge.

Day 2
After an early morning rise, you can take a boat and visit the Mandwa Fort or ride up to the Mandwa beach and enjoy water sports activities.
Later choose between a relaxing head, foot and shoulder massage or a small sight seeing tour to Alibagh.
Your lunch will be served at the eco lodge. Post a small siesta and your afternoon tea, spend the evening with the village ladies. The women have come together for a small venture in cottage industries and produce quality jams, pickles and squashes. Interact with them, and even do some shopping. Head back to the cottage for the evening and relish a relaxed dinner.

Day 3
Post a relaxed breakfast, you can head back to Mumbai by the 11am catamaran.
