About this property

A beautiful wooden house with 5 acres of outdoors, located in a small rural village. Built in altitude, with excellent sun exposure and great views over the valley of the Vade River and the Peneda-Geres National Park. The house has a good thermal insulation and can be comfortably inhabited all year round.

This house was built by my parents in the early 1990s as a weekend getaway.
It's a large and very reserved property located in a small village with only 300 inhabitants, about 5 minutes away from Ponte da Barca.
The A28/A27 and A3 highways are about 7 kms away, making it quickly and easily accessible.

The outdoors are divided in 6 levels spread over 5 acres.
At the level of the house, there is a large lawn with oak, chestnut, lime and walnut trees and a water spring. At the lower level, there is a biological orchard with orange, lemon and apple trees.

The house has an area of 135 square meters, divided into 2 bedrooms, a living and dining room, a kitchen and a bathroom. There is a large porch facing west with a stunning view.

Guest will access all the commodities of the house and its outdoors.
Towels and linen are included.
Central heating and fireplace can be used.
Internet Wi-Fi.

Interaction with guests:
There are no other houses in the property.
You will rent the entire place for your stay.
During your stay we will keep in touch.

Tolles Ferienhaus

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche in dem äußerst geschmackvoll eingerichteten Ferienhaus.Joana hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen.Alles vorhanden, was man braucht.Schöne Sonnenuntergänge bei einem Glas Wein auf der Terrasse.. Klar, die Hunde bellen, das ist in Portugal so, aber nicht in unmittelbarer Nähe und auch selten nachts.Lediglich, dass es dort wohl üblich ist, die Gartenabfälle zu verbrennen und die Luft dann einmal ziemlich rauchig war, wäre zu kritisieren. Aber das Haus und der riesige Garten sind toll und auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen!

I recommend this property strongly

Nice and friendly landlord who was always at our service by phone. Everything in the description at FEWO is correct. No German TV whatsoever but very fast WiFi. No shower tub but a bathing tub with shower. Hot water is a bit strange but it works. The kitchen is extremely good equipped. The veranda is large and has three large sun shades.

Peaceful hideaway

Beautiful place to stay. Stunning views and interesting bird life. Very comfortable spacious accommodation. Very relaxing. Take a jumper just in case the sun doesn’t shine.

wundervoller Ausblick

Das Haus hat uns sehr gut gefallen, eine gute Aufteilung der Zimmer und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Terrasse ist perfekt, mit einem wundervollen Ausblick. Dazu kommt noch das sehr große Grundstück, ideal wenn man ungestört sein will. Joanna ist eine sehr gute Gastgeberin, sie hat uns alle Informationen für den Nationalpark zur Verfügung gestellt und war jederzeit ansprechbar.

Angenehme Basis für die Erkundung der Region

Schön gelegenes Haus in ruhiger Lage, wenn auch deutlich näher am Ort, als gedacht. Da wir eine Woche Dauerregen hatten, konnten wir die Terassen leider nicht nutzen, es uns dafür aber im Haus gemütlich machen. Wer sich im Urlaub gerne auch mit warmem Essen selbst versorgt, findet die Ausstattung der Küche als Basis gut geeignet, allerdings weniger für große Kochaktionen. Super Unterstützung der Vermieterin, die flexibel auf unser spätes Ankommen reagierte und für Fragen immer erreichbar war.

Eine schöne Woche im Douro-Tal

Ein sehr schönes Haus in einer ruhigen Lage. Auf der nach Westen gerichteten Sonnenterasse haben gerne den Abend ausklingen lassen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Unsere Gastgeberin hat uns sehr herzulich empfangen und uns viele hilfreiche Informationen für die Freizeitgestaltung gegeben. Bei Fragen gab es stets eine sehr schnelle Rückmeldung. Wir können dieses Haus in jedem Fall weiterempfehlen.

Very nice stay

We like this place very much. The location was great and the natural setting and the view was fantastic. The owner was very very nice and we had no problems. The only drawback was that the beds were a little bit uncomfortable. We ended up sleeping on the two double beds instead of the queen bed. That’s the only real improvement that we could recommend. Thank you very much

Hoch auf dem Orangenhain

Die Lage des Ferienhauses - auf der obersten Terasse eines Orangenhaines - ist wirklich entzückend, der Blick über das Dorf auf die umliegenden Hügel und ins Tal des Rio Lima sehr schön. Die Ausstattung - komfortabel und stilvoll. Alle Räume sind hell. Joana ist eine phantastische Gastgeberin.

Belle maison avec jardin très agréable

Tres belle maison dans un magnifique cadre. Très bien équipée. Aucun vis à vis et vue sur vallée verdoyante Avons passé de très bonnes vacances au calme. Très bon accueil par la propriétaire. Idéalement localisée pour decouvrir le parc Géres et à moins d une heure de la mer.

Peaceful property and beautiful home

Our stay for only 4 nights at Joana and Isabel's home was wonderful. Meeting them upon our arrival was very helpful and they each made us feel welcome. Sleeping was comfortable, and cooking in the kitchen was great. The views from the balcony to the green valley were beautiful and calming, and the privacy of the 5 acres was special. Muito bonita home interior. Walking further along and up the road was easy and it was nice to feel like part of the community. The location was very good and driving around the countryside to Arcos and beyond was so enjoyable. We highly recommend their "lovely wooden house" and would love to return some day. Very nice and peaceful

If you like it quiet and peaceful, this is the perfect place to be! It is a great starting point for excursions to some waterfalls, the national park, some other small villages and the beach. You will reach many things within an hour drive, but you can also simply enjoy the cosy house with its pritty view!

Privacy and space in a green environment

A cosy house with complete privacy, nice view from the terrace and a large garden with lots of shade under big old trees. The house is located in a picturesque hamlet and nevertheless at short distance from the quiet little town Ponte da Barca for daily shoppings. You can stay at the property to spent a lazy day or use it as a base for walks or drives in the mountains of Peneda Gerês. Porto (Eifel bridge) and Ponte de Lima (river bank) are also worth visiting. Though sometimes too hot for long walks in the mountains we still had a great time!
