About this property

SIBENIK OLD TOWN HOUSE

The old town House is an authentic Dalmatian house which dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. This charming five storey house was once also the home of one of the mayors of Sibenik. It boasts spectacular views of the sea and parts of the old town. It is the ideal location for a relaxing Mediterranean experience. It is decorated in a sort of eclectic style, with ancient British and Croatian furniture, mainly antiques.
The house has one main entrance which leads directly to the first floor living room area, or one other entrance through the patio on street level which leads to a fully furnished kitchen (fridge, oven, washing machine, dishwasher, plates, cutlery, toaster, kettle ect.). The living rooms has two 3-seater sofas, a satellite big screen TV, a dvd player and a music centre. The house has wireless Wi-Fi and air-conditioning on every floor.
The 2nd floor has a fully tiled bathroom with power shower and a double bedroom with 2 windows overlooking St Lovre church and the Mediterranean Gardens Café. Furnished with a dressing table/chest of drawers, there is also a built-in wardrobe on the landing. On the 3rd floor there is another double bedroom larger than the first one, with fabulous views on the nearby church and gardens, and parts of the old town. The top floor is undoubtedly the most spectacular one and the main attraction of this very special house. It is composed of an upper (mezzanine) and lower level. The upper level is a super king size bed built under the roof space. The lower level has a single bed, a desk, a wardrobe and a telescope for you star-gazer! With 8 windows, big and small, the top floor has breathtaking views of the sea and the old town, offering a truly magical experience.

The House is situated in quiet old town Sibenik (where no cars are allowed), more precisely in the Gorica district.
It is just a few minutes' walk from the famous Sibenik cathedral, a UNESCO Heritage site.
There are numerous cosy restaurants nearby serving Croatian, Mediterranean and international food. Among them, elected one of the best restaurants in Croatia, and recently on the top five gastro destinations list for 2015 according to the Telegraph, is Pelegrini where owner and chef Rudi makes your dinner an unforgettable sensory experience.
Also nearby are the beautiful Mediterranean Gardens serving coffee and simple fares as cheese and ham plates and cakes. Ten minutes away, there is also the noteworthy Vino & Ino wine bar and concept store, serving some of the best Croatian wines in a trendy and jazzy atmosphere, especially enjoyable in the long summer evenings on one of the nicest squares in town.

Sibenik is the starting point to many day trips to the numerous islands of the central Dalmatian archipelago, as beautiful Zlarin or Prvic and of course, the world famous Kornati Islands. Sibenik is just a half an hour drive from the Town of Primosten, and the same distance from Murter which is really one of the most amazing places on the Croatian coast. The town itself has two official beaches: Jadrija, which dates back to the 1920's, accessible by boat in about 20 min, and the brand new Banj Beach located in the old town, which offers some good swimming, a great view and a relaxing spot to have drinks, the Makari Bar.

There are also a few major festivals you can attend:
- The Garden Festival in Tisno
- the International Children Festival (starts around June 23rd and lasts 2 weeks) is the 53nd in a row this year,
- the Off Jazz & Blues Festival in July
- Various concerts organised by the Terraneo Festival brand, with some taking place at the newly renovated St Michael's Fortress at the top of old town Sibenik, just a few minutes' walk from the house.
- And for you Salsa fans out there, the Salsa Beach Splash Festival is a summer salsa festival taking place in the Solaris resort and in old town Sibenik. It will give you extraordinary days of dancing and fun in a gorgeous location.
-There is also the Medieval Šibenik Fair (for you history buffs) which is held at the end of September on the occasion of the St. Michael festivity (around September 23rd). Want to experience some "Game of Thrones" atmosphere? The Medieval Fair is what you need. Archers and ladies galore.
And talking about “Game of Throne", Sibenik was the filming location for the 5th season and there are numerous spots featured in the series that you can visit and enjoy. We will give you all the necessary details.

Guests staying at the house will have access to numerous perks. As we wish to provide a well rounded holiday experience, guests will be able to take boat trips with our very own private boat (reservations have to be made ahead for whole day trips or half day trips to the islands). Guests will also have special discounts for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner at our very own Bounty restaurant and take away which is situated on the sea front going towards the city's beach. Chef Allan Guberina, trained at Jamie Oliver's famous Fifteen restaurant in London, will delight them with his numerous creations in british/croatian fusion cuisine.

We are always there for our guests, providing friendly advice, great tips and all sorts of directions to make for an unforgettable and relaxing experience.

It is really a nice, authentic and quiet neighborhood, with lots of places to eat and drink.

beautiful house in the old city of Šibenik
The house is a wonderful, historic, absolutely authentic townhouse in the old part of Šibenik. It is nestled among the winding little streets, within walking distance to many fine restaurants, shops and to the famous cathedrale of St. Jacob. Great location! The house is well equiped and the communication with the owner and his girlfriend was very fast and friendly. Thank you Dean and Božena. Šibenik is ideal as starting point for many fantastic trips, for example to the national parks Krka and Kornati and to towns like Split or Zadar. We had a very nice vacation. Notice: There is no possebility for parking the car directly at the house. We used free parking in the Dure Dakovica, behind the stadium.

Beautiful stay in Sibenik
We felt like the owners had gone away for a couple of weeks and lent us their house. It is in a beautiful location in the old town and quite magical. Everything was just right and well provided for. We also loved the Bounty restaurant and had a great meal on our last night. It was perfect for our mixed group of ages ranging from 3 to 66 years old. We will definitely plan to come again. Dean is a terrific host and cook!

Hi, I'm Dean. I have lived in London for 28 years working mainly in the pub, restaurant and entertainment industries. I have decided to spend some more time in my native Croatia in Sibenik where I have opened a new venue: the Bounty Bistro. Passionate about food, music, fishing and most of all proud father of 4 children! The Dalmatian coast is one of the most beautiful coasts there is, with the clearest blue sea, and I hope you decide to come and stay with us to appreciate it in its full splendor. Cheers!
