The old town House is an authentic Dalmatian house which dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. This charming five storey house was once also the home of one of the mayors of Sibenik. It boasts spectacular views of the sea and parts of the old town. It is the ideal location for a relaxing Mediterranean experience. It is decorated in a sort of eclectic style, with ancient British and Croatian furniture, mainly antiques.
The house has one main entrance which leads directly to the first floor living room area, or one other entrance through the patio on street level which leads to a fully furnished kitchen (fridge, oven, washing machine, dishwasher, plates, cutlery, toaster, kettle ect.). The living rooms has two 3-seater sofas, a satellite big screen TV, a dvd player and a music centre. The house has wireless Wi-Fi and air-conditioning on every floor.
The 2nd floor has a fully tiled bathroom with power shower and a double bedroom with 2 windows overlooking St Lovre church and the Mediterranean Gardens Café. Furnished with a dressing table/chest of drawers, there is also a built-in wardrobe on the landing. On the 3rd floor there is another double bedroom larger than the first one, with fabulous views on the nearby church and gardens, and parts of the old town. The top floor is undoubtedly the most spectacular one and the main attraction of this very special house. It is composed of an upper (mezzanine) and lower level. The upper level is a super king size bed built under the roof space. The lower level has a single bed, a desk, a wardrobe and a telescope for you star-gazer! With 8 windows, big and small, the top floor has breathtaking views of the sea and the old town, offering a truly magical experience.
The House is situated in quiet old town Sibenik (where no cars are allowed), more precisely in the Gorica district.
It is just a few minutes' walk from the famous Sibenik cathedral, a UNESCO Heritage site.
There are numerous cosy restaurants nearby serving Croatian, Mediterranean and international food. Among them, elected one of the best restaurants in Croatia, and recently on the top five gastro destinations list for 2015 according to the Telegraph, is Pelegrini where owner and chef Rudi makes your dinner an unforgettable sensory experience.
Also nearby are the beautiful Mediterranean Gardens serving coffee and simple fares as cheese and ham plates and cakes. Ten minutes away, there is also the noteworthy Vino & Ino wine bar and concept store, serving some of the best Croatian wines in a trendy and jazzy atmosphere, especially enjoyable in the long summer evenings on one of the nicest squares in town.
Sibenik is the starting point to many day trips to the numerous islands of the central Dalmatian archipelago, as beautiful Zlarin or Prvic and of course, the world famous Kornati Islands. Sibenik is just a half an hour drive from the Town of Primosten, and the same distance from Murter which is really one of the most amazing places on the Croatian coast. The town itself has two official beaches: Jadrija, which dates back to the 1920's, accessible by boat in about 20 min, and the brand new Banj Beach located in the old town, which offers some good swimming, a great view and a relaxing spot to have drinks, the Makari Bar.
