THE PLACE

This picturesque airconditioned house in Porto Rafti is ideally located near the beach (10minutes on foot, 800metres). It is just a short 15-20 minutes drive from the airport and a 20 minute drive away from the city of Athens.
The house is beautifully decorated in a traditional greek style, while at the same time offering all amenities of a comfortable and relaxing home. Our house can accommodate up to 8 people (10 people using the sofa/beds). All design features, characteristics, decoration and amenities of this wonderful property are dominated by simplicity and functionality. Ideal for couples, friends and families with children. Our big garden is also ideal for pets. A bbq is also provided.

The view to the garden is beautiful and serene, full of blossoming trees and the mediterranean countryside. In close proximity one can find restaurants, supermarkets, cafeterias, entertainment places, cinema etc. The popular beach of "Agia Marina" is 800 metres, the popular beach of "Avlaki" is 1.8 kilometres away from the house and the beach of "Panorama" is 2.5 kilometres away.

During the summer periods the area is filled with holiday goers and gets quite busy due to its beautiful location.

FACILITIES

The house consists of a large living room with fireplace, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen (oven, fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, dishing and washing machine), 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (plus 2 sofa beds) and a large and beautiful garden. The garden is around 2000 sq. meters. The house is beautifully decorated in a traditional greek style, while at the same time offering all amenities of a comfortable and relaxing home.

We have a plastic soccer table and a swing in the garden that you/your children could use. A bbq is also provided. The house is air-conditioned.

A baby crib is also provided.

Travelers can use all of the space.

Transfer to and from the airport can be arranged upon request.

Master bedroom has a double bed and a sofa bed, big wardrobes and an en suite bathroom.

Bedroom 2 has a double bed, a single bed and big wardrobes.

Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds (plus a sofa bed) and large wardrobes.

The house can accommodate 7 people, without the use of the sofas/beds. It can accommodate up to 9 people using the sofa/beds.

We provide sheets, pillows, blankets, towels, hand soap, shampoos, washing machine and ironing facilities.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Porto Rafti is a seaside resort town in East Attica, Greece. Porto Rafti is situated on the Rafti Bay, a bay of the Aegean Sea, on the east coast of the Attica peninsula. It is 5 km south of Vravrona, 6 km east of Markopoulo and 26 km southeast of the center of Athens.

Porto Rafti is nowadays known as a famous seaside resort, as there is the municipal famous beach (Avlaki).

Being one of the closest sea destinations to Athens (20 minutes from the centre of Athens), Porto Rafti is an excellent staging point for day-trips and excursions. Day-trips to Athens to visit the Acropolis, museums, and various other historical sites are highly recommended, as are trips to the ancient Theatre of Epidaurus.

Getting around

A bus stop is available only 500m away. 10-15 minute taxi ride from the Airport. 10 minutes walk to the beach. 5 minutes walk to the local supermarket. 20 minutes drive to the centre of Athens.

comfortable stay

We loved everything about this place. It was able to fully accommodate our family. Our parents have limited mobility and the house has no stairs and good size bathrooms with full size bath tubs that helped make the stay more comfortable for them. The location was great and hosts were kind, welcoming and generous (the kitchen was stocked with so much of what one might need on a stay like that). They were also quick to respond when messaged. It is close to lovely beaches, boardwalk, grocery stores, pharmacy, cafes and restaurants. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

I love this space the garden was packed with fruit. The host had great communication and allowed us to harvest from the garden.. It was wonderful having fresh grapes and lemons. Very large property for the area. We had plenty of hot water for a family of four. Really appreciated all of the food and coffee the host had there for us. It made our first day so much easier. Would love to stay here again hopefully when the figs are coming into harvest!

Helpful hosts and exactly what we were looking for in a property

We traveled to Greece to meet our daughter and her family, including a 6-year-old and 18-month-old twins. We wanted something without stairs and, if possible, a garden in an area that was not on a busy street. This house met those requirements. The host, Rigissa, was incredibly helpful. I sent her a boatload of questions, which she patiently and promptly answered and gave us all the necessary information. They put two camping cots into the home and bought a second high chair for us to use. This was huge for us! Rigissa was available by phone when we landed, and her dad had stocked the house with food he thought we and the kids would enjoy (from yogurt to coffee, milk, honey, and cookies). This really helped after a long journey, The house is an easy walk to several beaches. There is a small store nearby and a larger one not too far away. We did not rent a car and ordered taxis for days when we went out. Porto Rafti is well located, and we enjoyed the fact that it is not too touristy. That keeps the prices of things cheaper. For example, a bottle of water at the beach cost 50c, while the same bottle in Athens was closer to $2.00. The house had everything we needed, and we really enjoyed our stay. If the opportunity arose, we would definitely stay here again. This host family is undoubtedly one of the best we have ever stayed with.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Our host was great. There was some information barrier, as we don't speak any Greek, but that's our problem, not theirs. We very much appreciated the fact that the host was so nice and worked very hard to communicate with us. The house was great; neat and clean. The two bathrooms really helped. We have no complaints; only gratefulness for the host and the splendidness of her house. This was our first trip to Greece, and we left wanting to return.

Just 20 minutes from the airport, this house was the perfect place for our group for the night. Rigissa and her family were very welcoming and helpful, even the though we were there just for one night.

Wir hatten leider nur eine Übernachtung in Porto Rafti. Zu kurz für eine wirklich Bewertung. Allerdings bleibt festzuhalten. Sehr freundlich von der Mutter der Eigentümerin (Regissa) empfangen worden. Regissa selbst war auf Auslandsreise, trat aber per Telefon mit uns in Verbindung. Schnelle Antworten per Mail. Das Haus ist großzügig eingerichtet. Für 2 Paare + 1 Kind kein Problem. Schöner Garten, große Terasse. Da wir bereits morgens um 5.00 Uhr los mußten, stand für alle (5 Pers,) ausreichen Bot sowie Kaffee und Tee bereit. Wer ein paar Tage in Porto Rafti verbringen möchte, ist bei Regissa gut aufgehoben.

Superschoener Aufenthalt, tolle Menschen.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt bei Rigissa. Sie ist eine phantastische Gastgeberin und sehr zuvorkommend. Die Verstaendigung auf Englisch war einwandfrei. Das Haus ist komplett ausgestattet sodass der Aufenthalt als sehr komfortabel bezeichnet werden kann. In der Nachbarschaft kann man relativ einfach ein Appartment mieten. Ein freistehendes Haus mit Garten war nirgends verfuegbar. Wie wollten ein freistehendes Haus mit Garten da wir unsere 2 Kinder und Hund komfortabel unterbringen wollten. Alles supersauber! Das Wi-Fi Signal war intensiv und stabil, phantastisches Bett, schoene Kueche, zauberhafter Garten. Die Klimaanlage ist nagelneu und funktionierte einwandfrei. Die Kinder hatten jede Menge Platz um im Garten Fussball zu spielen und mit dem Hund herumzutollen. Avlaki-Beach ein organisierter Sandstrand, ideal fuer Kinder, liegt ca. 3-5 Autominuten entfernt. Der Standort war fuer uns perfekt, keinerlei Laerm und sichere im Gruenen liegende Umgebung. In 10 Fussminuten erreicht man das Meer und diverse Supermaerkte als auch kleinere Laeden mit frischem Fisch durch lokale Fischer angeboten, frische Fruechte, Gemuese, lokale Winzer und verschiedene Cafeterien. Nur 5 Autominuten entfernt liegt der malerische Hafen von Porto-Rafti. Idyllisch gelegen zum schlendern und schlemmen in den hiesigen Tavernen. Alles in allem eine Super-Erfahrung, wuerden jederzeit wieder hinfahren.

Perfect Stay!

We had a wonderful time in Porto Rafti and we would recommend this house to anybody! The house is fully equipped and located very close to the beach, super market, restaurants and the centre of the town. We were all our family, 3 generations. We loved the house and the garden-it is very peaceful and relaxing to eat your breakfast there. It was ideal for our kids (9 and 5 years old) but also for our mother (73 years old). The kids were playing for hours in the garden (football, with the swings and they riding the bicycles). We will miss it! The house was very clean and comfortable with a lot of space. We did not meet Rigissa, but we met her parents. They were very polite, they made us feel like home, and they were willing to provide us with any kind of help. It was a lovely stay!

Warm hosts, a must visit house, value for money

The house is really big and spacious. The family was very attentive and helpful. We chose this house even though it was new on this site and there were no reviews available. It was an excellent choice and we would highly recommend it. Excellent location, beautiful place and very comfortable rooms. The location is excellent as there is a beach nearby (which is 10min on foot) and we could go for drinks at night without taking the car. There is also a parking space and the garden is huge-ideal for children or/and pets. It is located close to the airport. There are also restaurants and taverns on a five minute drive from the place. Very clean house, comfy beds/pillows and there is also a fireplace! Owners are very helpful and willing to provide us with anything we wanted with full attention on us during all our stay. Fresh fruits and something to drink awaited us from Rigissa's family, which was great - such a nice touch after long tiring journey! Even though the family did not stay with us, they gave us excellent recommendations about beaches, taverns, coffee-shops and ice-cream shops. I highly recommend you to visit this lovely place.
