Condo, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 10 Sleeps
About Dale Gross
We live in 'small town' Iowa. Dale is a retired Realtor (still active, though.). Joyce is a retired oncology nurse. We enjoy traveling, quiet solitude (our home here is just that - on a dead end street). We both believe in the golden rule, 'Treat others as you would like to be treated.'
Dale Gross purchased this Condo in 1998
Why Dale Gross chose Frisco
Frisco is an awesome town. Everyting is a level, short walk away. Bike or ski rentals are two blocks down the street (NOT mountainside prices), the summit bike path is two blocks away (runs from Vail to Breckenridge to Keystone). Vail is 25 miles, Copper 6, Breck 9, Keystone 9! Take the free bus from six blocks away straight to the lift at Breck. 8 delicious eateries within 6 blocks
What makes this Condo unique
We self manage the rental of our home. Our cleaning service is punctual and thorough. You get a very comfortable home that is clean and just like you would find at your home. (Our rates are low because we don't pay a management company's fees.) PETS: Because of questionable tenant allergies and tenant comfort, we prefer to NOT allow pets. Simply, pets leave scents, dander, urine, etc. (I manage our personal rentals in Atlantic, IA and have 30 years experience with this potential problem.) What happens is your pet leaves a mark. The next tenant's pet smells the other and marks the spot for itself. Then comes the next and the next. Then comes carpet replacement.

Great accommodations for our family of seven. The townhouse had everything we needed and was in excellent shape.
Great place and great location. Close enough to town to walk to restaurants and stores.
SUPER HOST & GREAT LOCATION
Dale is the best of hosts... super responsive. Being from NC, I don't speak Iowa-nese but once we resolved the language barrier (just kidding), we had a great stay. Everything was as represented and Dale is readily available to answer any questions. Easy 15 minute drive to either Copper or Breck. Great restaurants (everyone agreed that 5th Avenue Grill was the best) and brew pubs just a couple of blocks away. Pioneer Sports, near I-70, was the quickest ski rental I've ever done and they are open till 9:00 PM, so you can get your skis the night before you hit the slopes. I'm still wondering why we didn't stay longer.
We had a wonderful father, son & friends long weekend - thanks for letting us stay Dale!
- Bill Dudley/NC
Thanks, Bill. I have always worked to make things the best that I can. Thanks for the review.... you guys got in on some of the best snow that I have seen in years. Right now, it continues to fall. All of the Summit county resorts are reporting at or over 300" of snow. Frisco IS such a nice place. Come again next year - stay longer. I love speaking Iowa-nese to my guests...
Frisco is a great mountain town for summer or winter vacations. The condo's location is perfect for accessing hiking & biking trails or the free Summit County Stage buses which take riders to all communities & ski areas. We were very comfortable in this condo & can tell that the owners work to keep it that way.
Good for the price. Would have been 4 star if oven and garage door had worked properly
The condo was a bit outdated but the price was great, so no complaints there. Pretty frustrated that the oven didn’t work. We brought and prepared a bunch of food to bake but ended up having to eat out every night instead (which was a cost we didn’t expect to incur)... The condo comfortably holds 10 people like the posting suggests and has hot tub access. To find out after we booked that we would be “watched” and fined $100 if more than 5 people were in the hot tub area at one time was a bit unexpected, to say the least. The garage door also did not work properly... Would have given a 4 star rating if the oven and garage door were functioning.
Well, I am quite surprised. I never had any call about the oven not working. It worked when I left prior to the tenant ahead of Joe. (It was probably a timer "dial" out of place. I could have helped. Joe had indicated that they intended to eat out every night and would not be using the kitchen - irrelevant, alas) I had no call about the garage door either. It works. (In fact, the subsequent occupant called and said - "where are the gar opener and the hot tub keys?" ...turns out that one of the classmates had put the key chain(s) in a place different from where they should be - indicating that they had used the garage door opener...
The condo association has one hot tub and it can get crowded with more than five. I don't know where that message was about the fine and watching (there are no cameras there in the gazebo in the center of our association.). I am sorry for any misunderstanding.
I am disheartened by the "2" rating, as Joe and I had had so many fine visits to get him and his friends situated (they are all professionals). I see all of the other ratings are 5. I will rest with that. Smiles from Iowa.
Great condo close to main street
Great condo, we will rent again. Easy access to main street, we would walk at night down to get ice cream. Has everything you need and the owner is very easy to work with.
Copper mountain is 6 miles away. Breck and Keystone are 9 miles.
Vail is 25 miles. Snow mobiling, hiking, cross country skiing. I
have referrals to discount ski rentals and tickets.
Summer rafting is only 45 minutes away at buena vista... (I think
the best!) Some great scenery here.... Rocky Mountain National Park,
Great White Sand Dunes, Royal Gorge, old mining roads over the
mountains, Leadville, Georgetown, Glenwood Springs (hot springs);
and just hiking out the back door to the top of Mt. Royal.
