Absolutely beautiful house! Perfect for our large group. Checkin was easy, host was very helpful and responsive to any questions or requests.
Hoping for another reason to come up to book it again:)
the house and the view were amazing. We were worried at first because the original pictures were removed just before our stay but it couldn't have been better.
The property was recently renovated, and has plenty of space for large groups! The house is nicely set up and has great amenities. The water by the dock is very shallow, but good for kayaking and kids swimming off the dock. The kitchen was well equipped and had lots of room for cooking and gathering.
The realtor/property manager was very responsive and quite friendly.

So close to DC! So big! Amazing sunrises!
You are choosing this rental for the location and size. It is an hour from DC and is so large and expansive. We had my entire family (8 adults, 3 kids) staying with us and it didn't feel crowded at all. The kitchen was well appointed. But the sunrises were the true delights. I felt like we had front row tickets to a stunning show every morning and night.
We had the best weekend and time at the house for the weekend. We were so lucky to have snagged this house for our group. The property manager was so nice and accommodating.
Was the perfect base of operations for our daughters wedding at Herrington on the Bay. The house was so spacious and words cannot describe the view. The outside area was a perfect space for a family gathering the day after the wedding. Our two Goldens loved it as well, especially the dock! We feel we discovered a hidden gem and can’t wait to come back again.
The view was incredible and the house had so many spaces that it never felt crowded though we were a full house with children and babies.
The neighbors and property manager were delightful.
The hot tub was missing a top so it wasn't quite hot, but it was lovely just the same.
Not super close to the store but an easy scenic 17-minute drive.
There was an issue with the fridge that took up time and attention and resulted in some food spoilage. It was handled as quickly as possible by Theresa, who provided a cooler immediately, and repair people, who were kind and as unobtrusive as one can be fixing a broken fridge. It was an unfortunate bit of timing for the appliance to give up upon our filling it with food on the first day.
Crab from Lou down the street was brilliant!
Great running hills in either direction from the house.
Fishing off the dock provided much fun and a sense of accomplishment for the kids.
But not enough can be said for the sense of peace and calm that I felt and witnessed amongst my family members as we sat under the stars watching the moon and its reflection in the water.
I will definitely consider staying at DWL again.
Thank you for the much-needed respite.
First off, Theresa, the property manager, was great to work with. Easy to communicate with and gave great information about the area. Hooked us up with someone local who provided us with a crab dinner (crab was cooked and delivered to the house). Also, after a freak storm where we lost power overnight she provided us with candles. The house was plenty big for our group of 12 adults. They say there are couches for people to sleep on and while that is true be aware that they are in a room where the sun shines bright in the morning and there is no privacy given the fairly open concept of the downstairs. Quiet neighborhood with nice and helpful neighbors (told us how to put our dock lights on). It was very hot and muggy when we rented and it is fairly easy to get in the water from the dock- you have to put a ladder in and climb up/down- what we weren't aware of was that there are a ton of jellyfish in the water. It really made swimming difficult and many opted not to. We did rent a boat but we were not allowed to use the boat lift on the dock and needed to rent a slip at the local boat yard which was close by. Unfortunately the jellyfish were everywhere and couldn't even swim off the boat. House was well stocked and well suited for our large group with plenty of space to spread out. If you plan to use the hot tub make sure you check it upon arrival. It did not work for us and while Theresa worked to get it fixed we were not able to use it for our stay.
This past weekend we celebrated the nuptials of dear friends. First and foremost I have to acknowledge the amazing property manager, Teresa for providing an exceptional check in experience, and being literally a phone call away!!! From the moment we walked in our breath was taken away by the astounding view. From the ground floor to the roof deck, it was monumental. The neighbors from across the street, and down the road helped to send us off to the ceremony paparazzi style as the photographer & videoographer captured our departure to the ceremony at Herrington on The Bay.
Saturday night we hosted the rehersal dinner for the wedding party at the house, and all the guest had to have the rental information, they were juat as enamored as we were.
Fortunately because of the sliding doors we were able to create a fabulous indoor/outdoor living space with the most comfortable reclining chairs from the family room. The sunrise, sunset & star gazing were all enjoyed from this space.
Truly a 5 star experience!!! Thanks Teresa & Teresa's Husband😍
Propertt manager and owner were very responsive and helpful.

GREAT view - can't beat the view. overall OK/average stay for price paid.
PROS:
- view - can't beat the view with this bay-side house.
- spacious - plenty of space. 1 bedroom with 1 full bath on the first floor, then 5 bedrooms with 2 full baths on the second floor. Outdoor deck (ground floor), outdoor patio (ground floor), and rooftop deck (third floor).
CONS:
- price - for price paid, I expected more of a luxurious stay.
- cleanliness - not super clean but not dirty either. Kitchen was well-kept but certain dining tables had dust and roof with spider-webs.
- heat - downstairs was plenty cool with the A/C but certain 2nd floor rooms were humid and hot.
- water - water smelled and tasted like metal/lead. We got bottled water in case for eating/drinking.
This house has lovely views of the bay and a great dock for fishing, floating in the water and just taking it all in. The house itself is spacious and charmingly quirky. Beds were comfy and we always had hot water. Now for the negative.....and I'm only listing these because if I was the owner, I would want to know. While the house was surface clean, it is in desperate need of dry wall patching, a deep clean and a new interior paint job. We found holes in the dry wall in some rooms, paw prints, hand prints and just dirt on the walls. The kitchen cabinetry was dirty and sticky. We also found some of the hardware (toilet and towel bars) missing from the wall and the sliding door handle broken. A warning to TV watchers, they only have very basic cable programming and we never could get the Apple TV working. Oh, and the trash was never picked up from the previous renters, so by the time we left, it was overflowing. at the curb. The dock was missing a ladder to get into and out of the water. We found a small utility ladder in the side yard and made it work for us. For the $1,000+ per night we paid, we expected a well-kept, clean home -- this house didn't deliver. We did have a nice stay and enjoyed the vast views of the bay.
PERFECT house for daughter 's wedding at Herrington on the Bay. Colorado guests LOVED the waterfront
Great location and house for wedding weekend with local and Colorado bridesmaids to bond and chill. Plenty of room to mix or reflect. Sunrises, sunsets and just watching the boats and the bay was so relaxing. Great for weekend long open house with friends and family. I would definitely recommend this home.
Rented this for my groomsmen and myself for my wedding at Herrington. House was perfect for all groomsmen and dates. We also were so impressed we decided to take pre wedding photos here. Great property manager, and great location!

Gathering of Friends
This house was perfect inside & out. The bedrooms were as advertised, large, comfy and the you'll be asleep, once you hit the pillows. The common areas were also, very spacious and there wasn't any fear of bumping into folks with a large group. The backyard w/ the gazebo, deck and hot tub were perfect. But, I'd have to say my 2 favorites were the deck on the top and the dock - both offered a place for your group to gather or can be used for sitting in solitude, while facing a beautiful Chesapeake bayBay. Our stay was made possible w/ the assistance of the manager, Theresa, who was unable to be there upon check-in, but, walked me through everything via text. Trust me, I'm not that technologically savvy, but, Theresa made it easy. She was also quick to respond with all questions about the television. But honestly, if you choose to stay at the Driftwood, you won't need much - It's all there for you. I would recommend it for small and large groups - You cannot BEAT The VIEW!

Perfect!!
This house was perfect for our large group! Loved the large rooms, ample bedrooms, spacious common areas plus backyard with deck, patio and gazebo, not to mention the dock to swim, fish and kayak from. Owner and manager were quick to respond with all our questions and minimal needs. We only left the house one time during our week stay!
