About this property
Family Friendly Leech Lake Home On Three Level Acres Of Lakeshore
Enjoy our 2900 sq. ft. home located on Steamboat Bay of Leech Lake. This house has an amazing open kitchen/living/dining area overlooking the lake and front yard. Your lake view is an unobstructed southerly view of Steamboat and Walker Bay all the way south to the city of Walker. The home can comfortably accommodate 12+ people: on the main floor there is one king bedroom, one queen bedroom, one full bath, kitchen, living room, dining room, second living room, and a laundry room with a 3/4 bath. On the second floor there is two queen bedrooms and a king bedroom with single bunk beds. There is a full bathroom upstairs. The large open kitchen and center island area gives you plenty of room for preparing meals for big groups. The second living room with TV allows a nice area for guests to get away from the main living space. Beautiful deck located on the lakeside for enjoying coffee or the evening BBQ while absorbing the breathtaking views. The property is an amazing three acres of flat level ground with a front yard large enough for any summer activities. Perfect for a family vacation, family reunion, fishing trip, or wedding. There is 250 feet of shoreline and a harbor to keep your boat or the boat you rent safe while you are here but we do not have a beach/swimming area on our property as the lake bottom is soft with some weeds. There is a beautiful beach minutes away by boat or the public beach in town is 10 minutes by car. The paved driveway and parking area has ample room for all of your vehicles, trailers and toys. Located right on the paved Paul Bunyan bike/snowmobile trail gives you direct access to hundreds of miles of the best trail systems Minnesota has to offer. The property is easily located 1/4 mile off MN Hwy 371 giving you convenient access to Walker, Bemidji, or Itasca State Park. Only 8 miles south to beautiful downtown Walker.

Jon and Lara were both raised and still live with our three kids in the Walker area. Can't think of a better place to live.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property in 2005 to raise our young family in. Since childhood we have both always lived on Leech Lake and this property offered many of the unique benefits to living and raising a family in this wonderful vacationland. The quiet rural setting with large level property gave our family plenty of room to enjoy the best of what Minnesota has to offer. For ten years we have enjoyed the outdoor living this property provides. Biking, canoeing, yard games, four-wheeling, snowmobiles, and of course fishing on one of, if not the greatest, lake in Minnesota have all been the joys of living on this property.
In 2015 we purchased a home and property in the city of Walker adjoining family property and much closer to our business. We still have the lake and the convenience to our business is nice, but we no longer have the peaceful tranquility and expanse this property offers.

What makes this property unique
In the many years we lived in this house, the southern exposure proved to be a huge benefit. Protection from the cold northwest wind meant we enjoyed many more days outside enjoying the yard, deck and Steamboat Bay. A northern exposure would have made these days miserable. The cold winds and rain usually do not come from the south. In the summer you can usually expect a nice southerly breeze off the lake to keep you comfortable. If you are vacationing in a questionable weather season it just may be the difference of enjoying the outside or staying in.
