Prepare to be impressed as you sit on your private courtyard patio. Relax to the sounds of the water fountain just outside your door, or rock on the front porch of the 1775 Master House and watch the sun dance over the waters of Edenton Bay.

Evening brings gas lanterns to light your way through the courtyard leading to your completely remodeled and comfortable home away from home. Inside you will snuggle by the fireplace and enjoy the water view from your king bed suite.

Interior designer, David Stevenson has created an incredibly homey yet stylish environment by brilliantly combining new and antique furnishings and decor, all with a nod to our coastal location.

You will find the downstairs living room to be a happy and fun place to unwind with a cheerful aqua sofa, antique secretary, funky crystal chandelier and overstuffed swivel rockers. Not to mention the custom made fireplace, window treatments, and the garden view, Soft hues exude tranquility and restfulness in the upstairs king bed suite. Lush monogrammed robes, fine linens and even candles are provided for your comfort and relaxation. Goody baskets await you in the kitchen and your every need has been well thought out and provided in advance. Extras such as flowers, in-room massage, a spa day, easy drive day trip to the beaches of the Outer Banks, great golf, boat and trolley tours, private dinner on the deck, or small occasion garden parties, vow renewals, weddings and surprise engagements can be arranged by our accredited event and wedding planner.

Edenton is amazing. This property is one of the premier properties for 2 guests. Exquisitely decorated and appointed. Scrupulously clean. Easy walking to downtown and attractions. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

Edenton Carriage House

Floridians Buddy and Judy Burch discovered Edenton quite by accident six years ago while on their way to vacation in Nags Head. It was love at the first sight of Edenton Bay and the outrageously friendly people who live here. They came back to visit Edenton five-times and then purchased their first home here. Three years ago they bought the historic 1775 Millen House on Edenton Bay. The renovation of the courtyard and carriage house has seriously been a labor of love. They are now ready to share it with others. Known around Edenton as, "the porch people," most evenings find them in rocking chairs with their dog Bentley Bo , chatting with passers-by and enjoying the breeze off the water. Southern hospitality is spoken here and the Burch’s invite you “Come rock a spell.” Now both properties managed by their son Hunter after losing our beloved Buddy in November '22, in his honor we offer this last bastion of true Southern hospitality in one of the most truly charming small towns left in the state. Edenton is one of the most special places and people here are it's real treasure that will be a very special experience you will come to love as we all do. We look forward to your visit with us soon!

Location! Location! Location! Friendliest people ever!!!!! The history in Edenton is amazing and the waterfront is so beautiful. There are wonderful shops on Broad Street and great places for dinner. People still porch sit, walk dogs, ride bikes and talk with neighbors here. It is charming and quaint and it just felt right.

What makes this property unique

It is seriously the location! Our sunsets rival Key West and the sound of the bay some evenings lapping against the shore just steps from the front porch sound like you are on the ocean. You really can park your car and put on your walking shoes or grab a bike your entire stay. You will be in the very heart of Edenton's historic district and in the one and only private vacation rental on Edenton Bay. Upon arrival you will find chilled water, sweet tea and orange juice in your mini fridge. Fine linens and a basket of toiletries are a sign you are at Burch House and at that sweet moment you will feel that we are so truly happy to host you. All furnishings are either custom designed or real antiques. Swivel rockers in the living room beg you to snuggle up and read one of the many books you will find in the antique secretary. A Welcome to Edenton and BHBTB book, written by your hosts, will provide you with all the information needed to fully enjoy this fascinating historic town. Two TV's, a VCR, movies, games and a clock radio are also at your fingertips. Extras included for your outside enjoyment: Romantic gas lanterns, a three-tier water fountain, rocking chairs, keyless entry, two kayaks, one canoe for two, two life vests, two bicycles, a gas grill, umbrella patio table with four chairs, Adirondack chairs in the water view rock garden, cast iron benches in the waterfront side garden and full use of the antique wicker and rocking chair filled front porch of 1775 master house. This is possibly the most relaxing and magnificent water view of all! Southern hospitality is spoken here and your hosts desire that your stay at Burch House be no less than a fun, relaxing and fabulous experience.
