Casa De Emdeko 212 - New Floors Throughout and Fully Remodeled Bathroom in 2022! Enjoy a wonderful Hawaiian experience while staying in our condo at the ocean front complex of Casa de Emdeko. We lived in the condo while renovating and redecorating it, and we came to love our unit and everything that the complex has to offer. It has truly become a Home Away From Home for us. The well stocked kitchen has a breakfast bar, dishes and silverware for 12, complete cooking utensils, tea kettle, lettuce spinner, dishwasher, fridge with ice maker, coffee grinder/maker, vacuum, iron, ironing board and wireless internet including free long distance calls to US and Canada.

The bedroom offers a queen size bed and there is a queen size sofa pullout bed in the living room as well. The bathroom that is off the bedroom, features a double sink and shower. There are ceiling fans throughout and the air conditioning creates an even more pleasant experience when needed. The lanai features a dining table and a view of the ocean while enjoying your meals.

Having a washer and dryer in the unit is an added convenience. With a view from the covered lanai, you can many times spot whales and dolphins. The complex features two pools, one pool on the ocean's edge and one mid way through the property. One of the highlights is joining others at the sea wall each evening, watching the sunset from the palm tree lined beach area. At night the sound of the ocean waves is a nice way to lull you to sleep.

The beautiful grounds are meticulously manicured, and we've never seen so many varieties of hibiscus in one place. Casa de Emdeko offers a great barbecue/eating/gathering area around the large covered cabana (10 tables), where you can watch the surf while barbecuing. The lighting of tiki torches in the evening really adds to the ambience. Everyone staying there (owners and guests alike) are so friendly, you experience a true feeling of Aloha. For those who enjoy walking, our condo is on the ocean side of popular Alii Drive about 1 ½ miles south of Kailua-Kona – and you can take your morning walk to enjoy a cup of coffee in Kona town.

There are many activities on the Big Island and specifically on the ocean front Alii Drive. There is a handy Convenience/Sundries store adjacent to the complex where you can purchase your morning newspaper or an evening bottle of wine. The Keauhou Shopping Center is just 3 miles to the south complete with KTA Grocery Store, Cinemas, Longs Drug Store, Restaurants, Medical Offices and Friday night free hula shows. Within a few miles is some of the best snorkeling on the Island at Kahalu'u Bay, a white sands (Magic Sands) beach at La'aloa Park and the historic Living Stones Church, just a few blocks away. Other activities can be found at konaconcierge.net.

We are confident you will find our condo unit clean, comfortable and relaxing. We wish you a wonderful time in our version of Hawaii paradise.

Maintenance Notice: The Association will be renovating tower walkways with work scheduled to begin on approximately June 1st 2023. The construction period is expected to last for approximately 2 months. The stacks ending in 24-26 are being directly affected (North Building, does not affect the south building where 212 is located), neighboring units should expect construction noise and dust. Please inquire with KCV for details. Thank you for your patience while this project is being completed.

I really enjoyed this property and the location of the condo complex. It is about 10 minutes drive south of Kailua Village. Pros: comfortable, clean unit. Free parking, mostly available. Very nice pools — One saltwater on the ocean’s edge. Cons: self check-in with no staff on site (i was traveling alone, so I would have welcomed staff — available by phone only). Ocean view was peak-a-view at best, some of the photos are out of date: floors have been updated and the bathtub removed (but shower is nice), no dining on site (but a convenient store for essentials fronts the property). Biggest annoyance was weekly water shut offs with only short notice (it fell on my check out day so I had to vacate the condo very early in the morning). Also, I had asked if there were beach chairs, umbrellas etc. I was told no because the management company is concerned about liability. So before I checked in I had purchased some items to use while I was there, only to find that there were indeed beach chairs and an umbrella. I would rather sign a hold-harmless agreement than be told that there is nothing available for me to use and have a needless expense. Bottom line, I would stay at this property again if not traveling alone, but I would choose a unit with a better view.

Wonderful, calm oasis in paradise!
From the time we booked through to checkout, communication with the booking management team was excellent. The address is Ali’i Drive, but the complex is set well back and you would never know you were close to a busy road. Check-in was a breeze, the condo is really well-stocked and has ample cooking utensils, cutlery & dishes etc. even for people who don’t want to dine out. The covered patio has a view of the ocean and grounds, the communal barbecue area is well-lit, two pools and the sandy “beach” area immaculately maintained, there are ample outdoor shaded areas to socialize, and there is a very calm/quiet atmosphere about the entire complex. A perfect spot for people seeking a calm oasis, and for families with young children; perhaps not so much for people who vacation in ‘party hardy’ mode! Outstanding property management and communication, as well. The condo is 1.3 miles from the ‘downtown’ area with shops, restaurants, etc.; a trolley service runs along the length of Ali’i would make it quite do-able to stay without a vehicle. and easily get to restaurants and shops. The ONLY drawback for us was that we like to walk everywhere, but the only way to walk to the ‘downtown’ area is on a narrow walking lane marked on the busy road, and that didn’t feel safe to us.
