Its a great place. View is spectacular. We were disappointed that the main fridge was not functioning so we fixed it. It was dissappointing to be surprised by a dent and ding white fridge blocking the cute side door with no heads up prior to check in. We called for dishwasher soap and though promised, noone came. Otherwise stay was great and its a nice place. The master is not an ensuite but the living room makes up for it.

Fabulous House

My family of 6 stayed in this terrific home over the holidays. It is one of the best rentals we have used. The views from the main room and deck are amazing, the bathrooms are both very nice (loved the steam shower!) and the bedrooms and beds were comfy. The location was easy both to Squaw, Alpine, Northstar and Incline Village. We made great use of the hot tub each night, and cooking in the well stocked kitchen was easy. All in all, a five star vacation! We would stay here again any time.

Perfect Pandemic Family Getaway!

We had THE BEST time at this location! The view from the deck is stunning! Just a quick drive to Tahoe City, the lake, etc. The house was stocked with everything we needed for our trip. My only suggestion is to pack your own pillows... The ones at the house aren't super comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

The gas fireplace didn't work as expected. I had to call someone and apparently the pilot light was off because of which the fireplace didnt turn on. Someone stopped by very soon and was able to fix it, which was pretty good. 2. One of the circuit breakers kept on tripping. It tripped almost once every hour, and that was very inconvenient/disruptive.

This house has seen its day

This is not intended to be posted, however, it is important for the owners to know how their property is being managed. We are extremely disappointed with this property and will not recommend it to anyone. Our grievances are not petty, in fact they affected our health, comfort and safety: Hot tub was padlocked (we specifically wanted a property with a hot tub, as one member of our party has a bad back.) Beds were extremely uncomfortable and were sinking in the middle. Bathroom floor warmers did not work. The bathrooms were freezing and as a result, three of us came down with colds. Kitchen knives were dull and were a risk to anyone trying to cut anything. Pots and pans were of poor quality and had teflon peeling off the bottom. (cancer anyone?) The couch had absolutely no support. The back cushions hardly stand up on their own. The refrigerator drawer had water leaking into it. It was obvious that the fuzzy materials in the house (couch pillows, bedspreads) had not been washed, as dust flew out of them once shaken. Dust was everywhere. There was no furniture on the deck. I understand that it is off season, but the weather was beautiful and we were there to enjoy the deck and the view. The bath towels were few and very scratchy. Two ft. long spider webs hanging from the beams on the ceiling. General disorganization. The drawers with games, etc. were impossible to find anything. A personal note--there is too much dusty junk in the house. Too many sticks, twigs, and pine cones that could catch fire easily. The moose has to go--at least the popcorn on its horns and what is with the birds and doilies? What is expected in a 'luxury' property (yes, we did spend $1400 for three nights) are well appointed ammenities, good quality bedding and a general feeling of comfort in which none of these apply to this property. I'm sure it was beautiful in its day; most likely the 90's but it seems to have been left untouched since then. We wanted to like this place, as Lake Tahoe is beautiful but we had three miserable, sleepless nights staying there.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view of the lake is wonderful. The spa on the deck overlooking the lake is also very nice. The house is located just outside the retail area of Tahoe City. The road noise from the main highway was 24 hours a day, every day. The living area and kitchen are really nice. The "master bedroom" and "master bathroom" are not to the standard of the price. Overall the place was clean and neat. The pots and pans are well used and should be replaced.

The house is lovely. Getting in and out was smooth. We accidentally dropped glasses while washing, and it's nice to have that covered. The hot tub worked exactly as described and was a great place to relax after skiing. The only suggestion would be that the company and house reconsider terms of agreement. While the associate who responded to my question about extra toilette paper was entirely within the terms of agreement when s/he reminded me of my responsibility to replace paper goods, it left me with a sense of scarcity and a lack of generosity. The house is not inexpensive. For two families, we each payed more than $300 per night. Were we in a hotel, this would not be a conversation. I realize your relationship with home owners is one of advice rather than mandate, but on this small but basic issue, I would have loved a different answer. Eight people for four days might need more than two rolls of paper. I bought more and left three rolls for the next renter. In any case, luxury is a funny thing and means different touches to different people. All I can ask is that you take my thoughts it under consideration. Best, Heather Hughes

Great Stay

We stayed at Old County Views for 5 nights with 5 people and loved our choice. Views were outstanding, house had everything we needed, and Tahoe Getaways was very easy to deal with. Agree with some others that linens and pillows could be updated, but that was a pretty minor thing. Hot tub was great, heated floors and steam shower were great, kitchen has nice appliances and couches were very nap friendly. All in all, we loved our stay.

My suggestion would be to buy new pillows, carpets need cleaning and bath mats. They did have everything you needed and nice they had lights on for us when we got there. Nice layout. Loved steamed shower. Didn’t get to use jacuzzi.

Perfect Lakeside Retreat

Great home, central location

This is a wonderful home. We liked that it was central to almost everything we were interested in doing in the Tahoe area - Tahoe City, Northstar, Alpine Meadows, Granlibakken... The beds were very comfortable, too (sometimes that can be the challenge with a vacation home). We are likely to stay here again.

Beautiful and exactly what we were looking for

Other than the hot tub not working the first night, out stay was perfect. Beautiful view, comfortable furniture, great sleeping accommodations, and an easy drive to everywhere we wanted to go. We will definitely try to stay here again.

Thank you for your review. While the hot tub was operating throughout the duration of your stay, I think you may be referring to us filling the hut with fresh water upon your arrival. We only do this when necessary. In these cases, the hot tub is heating, but it can take a few hours to get fully up to your desired temperature! Great location, 5 minutes from market, restaurants, and shops, and 10 minutes from beautiful Kings Beach. The view is more magnificent than it appears in the rental pics. Beautiful, has everything you need, and super clean. Beautiful deck to sit and read with view of the lake, or sit in the hot tub and relax. We didn't need service from the manager, but whenever i emailed questions, they were super responsive, answers in minutes. Hacienda del Lago restaurant on the lake was delicious and great friendly bartender. Tahoe Gal cruise was 5 mins from house and nice cruise with good food for purchase. Had a great vacation!

Here are the highlights: View: The view from the deck was what drew us to the house and it did not disappoint. Get up for at least one sunrise. Those windows! Location: Not right in the middle of the action/traffic, but close enough to explore either side of the lake. Hot Tub: perfect to wrap up a day of hiking Kitchen: we didn't even need to go out to dinner. Steam Room: I almost missed this feature in the downstairs shower. A nice surprise.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our time at Old County Views. Sipping coffee each morning watching the sunrise was nothing but spectacular. We spent the time with our family, and the house offered lots of comfy beds to sleep in, and an immaculate kitchen perfect to make family meals. Plus, the proximity to Tahoe City is perfect for a quick trip to the grocery store. Our kids spent time exploring the outdoors and taking a dip in the hot tub each day. We couldn't of asked for a better way to spend spring break.

Beautiful home with lake and Mountain View’s. Nice amenities (hot tub, gas fire place, grill, WiFi, large updated kitchen). Service was also great. Easy check in and very responsive with questions. Would recommend.
