Lovely home, enjoyed our stay, excellent location in town, able to watch ships, and enjoyed park across the street. Jen was great and checked in to make sure everything was going good. We would definitely rent again!
Comfortable home, kitchen well stocked and functional! Can’t beat the location. Host is very available! Parking is tough but you can squeeze in 3 vehicles if you park one on the grass.
Great place for a family of four to stay in Alex Bay. Nice view of the river and passing cargo ships as well as Boldt Castle. Walkable to restaurants and makes a convenient home base for visits to nearby Clayton and Cape Vincent in the US and Gananoque and Brockville in Canada. House has all the comforts needed and the enclosed porch made for a peaceful spot to start the day. Altogether a great stay in the 1000 Islands region!
Wonderful location, very clean and comfortable home, and the host was very welcoming!!! We will definitely be staying here again!!!! The house was perfect and more than expected!!!!!!!!
Great view, great location, so convenient. The house had everything we needed! A very short walk to downtown. There are a lot of stairs, but we all managed! And most of us are seniors lol
We had a very enjoyable stay at Alex Bay. This home was old but very clean and had a beautiful enclosed front porch from which to watch the freighters pass by on the St. Lawrence Seaway. We spent a lot of time there. The beds upstairs were very comfortable! You have to be able to climb stairs since there are a lot of them. We would rent again.
You really can't beat the view and location of this property. We really enjoyed watching the big cargo ships. There was a very nice park across the street which we appreciated as we were visiting with children. They loved it. The stairs leading to the second floor were fairly steep and would present a challenge to seniors. Parking is limited to one car and the public parking across the street is metered from 10 am to 5 pm but it didn't inconvenience us even though we had 3 cars. The kirchen is pretty nice. Overall, we had a great stay and the owner was immediately responsive to our inquiries and questions.

Spider House 2024
I spent the first afternoon we were in the house cleaning. There were cobwebs everywhere every room, every corner. The kitchen cabinets and counters were sticky. I emptied the refrigerator and had to clean all the drawers and shelves. The dishes that were in the lower level cabinets were dirty. Everything was dusty. One of us has a true fear of spiders and they were incredibly anxious the whole week. The very last night we were there a very large wolf spider was in my daughter's bed. She killed it before it bit her. We well know that wolf spiders are not poisonous per se, but their bites can become serious. I rented this place because the reviews indicated that cleanliness was excellent. I don't know if we were the last rental for the season and so the cleaning had not been done or the housekeeper was burnt out, but the family has named this house and this year's family vacation "Spider House 2024". So so So disappointed. We loved the area. Just not the situation with the house.

Great location, very comfortable house!
We really enjoyed our stay. The AC and ceiling fans in all rooms was very much appreciated, as the weather was very warm.
We loved the deck and adirondack chairs out front - it was such a pleasure to sit there in the early evening and just observe. Very quiet, so we could hear the birds, the boats, the breeze through the trees. Just very pleasant! It is kind of busy during the day, with families bringing their kids to the park - we thought the lifeguarded "swimming hole" at the edge of the river was cool! The "inside deck" was very nice in the mornings for sitting and drinking coffee.
It was great to have three bedrooms. Be aware that two of the rooms have east-facing windows with mini-blinds only, so it gets VERY bright in the early morning. It was nice to have two full bathrooms, although it was a minor inconvenience that one of them is downstairs while all the bedrooms are upstairs.
Alexandria Bay is a nice little town, and really is the heart of the Millionaires Row area of the 1000 Islands. We rented a nice pontoon boat at JP Marine for a day, and had a great time cruising around and seeing the islands and very nice homes!
Jennifer is the perfect host. She checked in with us, offered to come over if we needed anything, gave us suggestions of places to eat, things to see and do. Her house is older with the charm to go with it. It was well kept up and clean. I would recommend Jennifer to any of my friends and to those who are reading this. Thank you, Jennifer!
First of all this building is old, perhaps as old as bodlt castle. It gives you a sense of history so it's not a bad thing. Just saying if you are looking for a fully renovated, modern looking housing you would want to find something else.
The location is why we picked this property. It is close to everything downtown. The boat tour, the restaurants, etc. We have two other families came park at the property and walk to uncle sam boat tour. Across the street is a playground and all the kids enjoyed. A few more steps you cross the bridge to casino island and you have a great view of the castle and sunset.
There are many benches and a grill on Casino island so it's ideal to have a picnic there with friends and family.
A full size supermarket is about 10 mins away and we bought groceries there to make our own breakfast and lunch for a few days. Pot, pan, plates, cups are all available.
We would recommend this place to anyone.
Excellent location for a family vacation. Convenient to everything A-Bay has to offer. Three bedrooms with queen beds in each. Sufficient window A/C units, except for upstairs bathroom where it can get warm. Great place for younger families, with an excellent park (Scenic View Park) across the street!
This property is by far one of the best we have ever rented. The location can't be beat. We have 20 something children. They loved the walkability to the nightlife of downtown. We all enjoyed the large deck and screened in porch. The view of the park and river was amazing. The kitchen was the most well stocked we have ever seen. The pantry had every gadget, bowl, platter and storage container you could imaging. Which is a definite plus with a large group. The home is clean and comfortable. Jen the property owner is very nice and available. We started planning next year's family vacation before we even left.
