About this property

MOUNT VERNON RETREAT 🌸

Private and spacious suite with a separate entrance, in a quite, beautiful and safe neighborhood in Alexandria. It is 10 min drive to Historic Old Town Alexandria, 20 min to Washington DC, 5 min to Mt. Vernon Estate and Ford Belvoir Army Base.

Guests are welcome to take advantage of the garden/outdoor patio space for their morning coffee or afternoon/evening glass of wine.

Check in and check out times could be flexible upon request.


The guest area is completely private. It includes one spacious living room, two big bedrooms and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The first bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has 2 twin size beds. Both bedrooms have big closets.

The rooms were very clean and tidy and it was a perfectly nice place to stay for our one night in Alexandria before flying home out of DCA. Parking is on the street and there was plenty of it. The listing is accurate, but from the pictures I thought there would be driveway parking, which there is not. No big deal, but just something to be aware of.

Clean room, host is easy to communicate with, spacious rooms, AC is working properly, beddings are clean. The only thing that I think would make a guest stay more comfortably is if a sink would be at the dining/kitchen near the fridge and cooking area rather than going thru the bedroom all the way to the bathroom to wash dishes and utensils. A kitchen knife would also be a practical addition to the utensils. Also, the other bedroom is only accessed thru the shared bathroom and if locked by the user in the bathroom, no one from that bedroom can go out - this is a safety issue.

This was our second stay here. It's a convenient, well-laid out apartment. It was very clean when we arrived, and the hosts were friendly, inviting my kids to look at the chickens and giving us some delish pickled carrots. We really look forward to returning a third time!
