Why Mrs Victoria Davey chose Blackheath
"Cottawalla" is the original name given to this early 1900's weatherboard cottage which I fell in love with & have lovingly redecorated & styled. It definitely has a vintage vibe with a nod to yesteryear but also a relaxed contemporary feel with all the modern conveniences for a comfortable stay. I am a keen gardener & the backyard has seasonal fruit trees, herbs, vegetables, cottage plants & flowers for your enjoyment & use. Cottawalla is so close to the lovely village of Blackheath that you can stroll down to local cafes, restaurants, historic pubs, antique shops, bookshops & art galleries in a matter of minutes. Take a wander around the tree lined streets or a 5 minute drive to some of the most spectacular views & bush walks the Blue Mountains has to offer. The famous Three Sisters & Echo Point is a 20 minute drive away & Jenolan caves is an easy day trip. The monthly Blackheath growers markets are also a great place to get fresh local produce & soak up the relaxed village atmosphere. It is an easy ten minute walk from Blackheath railway station. It's the perfect location for a getaway which is another reason why I chose this property.
What makes this House unique
You will immediately feel at home when you walk through the door at Cottawalla - it's inviting & welcomes you with it's own charming personality. The bedrooms feature coloured stained glass windows, antique french chandeliers & the colour schemes were chosen for a peaceful tranquil atmosphere. The original living room has a gas log fireplace for warmth & ambience with art deco vintage inspired decor - a cosy room to watch TV & listen to music. The open plan living/dining & kitchen looks out onto the back garden & has a very relaxed vibe - a perfect space to read, cook, enjoy a glass of wine & hang out or take a nap on the comfy lounge. The bathroom has a deep free standing bath to luxuriate in after a long days bush walk or sight seeing. You can also sit on the sunny back deck & enjoy the garden, watch for native birds & breath in the fresh air!

Lovely house with nice decorator touches in rooms. Nice to have fresh bread and essentials provided. Very easy walk to shops. Loved it!
Perfect beautifully presented and close to everything.
Beautiful cottage and garden in a great location
Lovely relaxing stay at Cottawalla which has been beautifully decorated, is immaculately clean and lots of lovely touches like a light breakfast and staples, plus games and books which the kids loved. Just a short stroll up to the shops, cafes and restaurants as well as to Memorial Park for the kids. You won’t be disappointed
A beautiful house in a great location walking distance to Blackheath shops and some very good restaurants. The house is very well maintained with all kitchen needs and some lovely extra breakfast needs provided. The heating was very effective on the cold days we were there. We would happily recommend this house and come back again. Thanks Victoria for a very quick response when I had a question.
Thanks Aliza for the lovely review, hope to see you back at Cottawalla again in the future.
