It offers a huge sunbathing terrace, with plenty of free sunbeds and parasols. The pool area also provides poolside showers and toilet and changing facilities, as well as USB ports. The apartment in Puerto de Mogan is just 4 minutes walk from the golden sandy beach. Puerto Mogan has its own micro climate, with glorious weather for most of the year. Puerto de Mogan is undoubtedly the jewel of Gran Canaria. It is an very pretty area with bougainvilleas lining the local walkways with little canals and apartment roof-top gardens. It has featured recently in the JET 2 holiday adverts.

We are fully licensed by the Canarian Tourist board.

There is also a vibrant local Canarian community living in pretty whitewashed homes, rising up the hillside, next to the fishing harbour. Playa Mogan has over 80 fabulous restaurants and the area is perfect for a truly relaxing break. Our holiday apartment has an ideal position in Mogan and has the morning sun on the terrace which lasts well into the afternoon.

Local attractions include: A yellow submarine offering trips to the underwater world off-shore, glass bottom boat trips to the beaches of Puerto Rico, Anfi and Arguineguin; and deep sea fishing trips are also available. Take a walk through the harbour and the old town on the hillside; the pretty white-washed houses, wonderful restaurants and fabulous boutiques. Walk up the maze of narrow paths and you'll find the homes to the vibrant local community. Visit the viewing belvedere for a bird’s eye view of the area and great photo opportunities, or visit the recently excavated historic site. Puerto de Mogan hosts a bustling street market every Friday selling various organic produce and Canarian gifts and crafts as well as clothes and leather goods.

Nearby, the island boasts other attractions such as the Barranco de Guayadeque, Water parks, Sioux City Western Theme Park and Palmitos Park providing a colourful and entertaining look at nature. A walk along Meloneras promenade and past the vast Maspalomas sand dunes is recommended.

If you're venturing out by car, drive inland for an amazing contrast to the island's coastal areas, showing you green and lush vegetation and stunning rolling hills and mountains. A drive into the mountains is highly recommended for some wonderful views and interesting visits to typical Canarian villages.

There are some high quality golf courses close by, such as Anti Golf and El Salobre Golf. Ideal climatic conditions make Gran Canaria a perfect golfing destination, with the possibility of practising your favourite sport 365 days a year. An added bonus is that most of the golf courses on the island are quite new, which means you’ll find modern courses conceived with the most demanding players very much in mind.

There are currently 10 golf courses in Gran Canaria – six in the south – each one built by the most prestigious of international golf-course designers.

For those wishing to venture to a shopping centre, Centro Atlantico is located in Vecindario approximately 20 minutes back up the GC-1 where you'll find many boutique stores and a large Carrefour supermarket.

The island of Gran Canaria is located in the Atlantic Ocean, just 130 miles from the African coast. It is the third largest of the Canary Islands and offers lush forests, Sahara like dunes, mountains and volcanic landscapes. Gran Canaria also boasts incredibly beautiful coastlines and spectacular beaches. It boasts around 340 days of sunshine each year. The south is the most popular part of the island including the resort of Puerto de Mogán. Gran Canaria has spectacular views and many rugged landscapes, well worth exploring.

There is a local bus garage from where you can take trips to many places on the island. Bus fares are usually very cheap - 2 or 3 euros each way. Boats leave from the harbour area every half an hour (please check timetables) to other resorts such as Puerto Rico, Anfi and Arguineguin. Taxis can be taken from the taxi rank near the beach.

Our air conditioned apartment has many facilities for your comfort whilst on your holiday, to make for a perfect relaxing stay, such as NEW full sized oven and hob, a NEW full size fridge freezer, washing machine, NEW microwave, DVD player, Flat Screen TV, with UK satellite channels, incl BBC and ITV and Wi-Fi.

With the help of our clients, we have built up an extensive book library. There are plenty of books for you to read and if you haven't finished the book by the time you leave, please feel free to take it home with you!

The apartment is situated on the first level, where you'll find the larger apartments in that block, serviced by a lift and entry phone system. It is fully equipped and well furnished for your relaxing holiday. Puerto Mogan offers plenty to do, but is a much quieter resort and provides a more relaxed setting than its neighbours such as Puerto Rico, Maspalomas and Playa Del Ingles. All can be reached by taxi or by taking a wonderful boat trip from the harbour.

The apartment is a short stroll from the golden beach of Playa Mogan, with its restaurants, marina and fishing harbour. Puerto Mogan has several sea water channels giving rise to its name 'Spanish little Venice'. A stroll around this port is enhanced by the many promenades and small bridges. This picturesque area is known for its Venice Style Canals, beautiful flowers and bustling market every Friday.

The waterfront Harbour area is lined with colourful buildings of a Mediterranean style, with beautiful bougainvilleas lining its narrow walkways and gardens.

The harbour is surrounded by restaurants, stylish cafés, boutiques, designer stores, jazz and piano bars making this location perfect for your relaxing holiday. Just to the East of the Harbour there is a golden sandy beach – with an adjacent children’s play area. Las Palmas airport is approx 35 minutes away - we can assist with Airport Transfers if required, to help you relax as soon as you arrive in Gran Canaria. The driver can be there to greet you and drive you to the apartment. Our Puerto de Mogan apartment is in a fabulous location for a relaxing break. It's truly a very relaxing place to be.

The apartment is also close to a wide variety of shops and boutiques as well as two good supermarkets, baking fresh warm bread every morning.

After the subjugation by the Spaniards, Gran Canaria Island became a famous port of call for travellers, and many of them settled with their families on this beautiful island, bringing with them their own cultures and traditions. As Gran Canaria’s society was always open to everything that came from beyond the seas, the island has enriched itself with visiting cultures, although at all times aiming to preserve its ancient traditions to keep its original identity alive. Due to its long history, this cosmopolitan island became a synonym for ‘culture blends’ with a rich archaeological, architectural, ethnographic and artistic heritage – difficult to find in other places of such small dimensions.

The people of the island like to celebrate festivals, if of religious, folkloristic or cultural nature, and there is always something going on somewhere on the island. A firm place on the island’s agenda are internationally renowned festivals such as the International Film Festival of Las Palmas, the Festival de Música de Canarias (Canaries Classic Music Festival) and the Festival de Ópera (Opera Festival). Other events like the WOMAD (World of Music, Arts and Dance) or the Festival de Teatro y Danza de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Theater and Dance Festival of Gran Canaria) bring still more influences of the international cultural panorama to this magnificent island.

There are also a number of local festivals taking place throughout the year.

The People of Gran Canaria
Long before the first European sailors arrived on the Canary Islands, all seven islands were inhabited. Guanches, ‘guan’ meaning man and ‘che’ (meaning ‘white mountain’ referring to the snow-crowned Teide on Tenerife) in the native tongue, was the name given to those inhabitants. Guanches are believed to have arrived on the islands between the 5th and the 1st century B.C. probably from Africa. According to Spanish historical records, the Guanches were tall, strongly built, white-skinned, blue-eyed and blond-haired.

The Guanches were cave dwellers, which was a logical development given the climate of the Canary Islands. A cave dwelling was the perfect solution for both summer and winter, keeping people cooler or warmer, and also for storage purposes.

Today’s inhabitants of Gran Canaria are a proud, friendly and easygoing people, the majority of them being descendants of the Spanish conquerors and colonisers and assimilated Guanches. In general, they are open minded, willing to help and pleased to show visitors their culture and their island.

Almost 96 per cent of the inhabitants of the Canary Islands are Roman Catholics, who are very tradition-conscious, which can be witnessed on big religious feast days and particularly during the ‘Semana Santa’ (Holy Week before Easter), when extensive celebrations take place all over the islands.

Very much enjoyed our stay in Puerto Mogan. Brilliant apartment in a good location. weather was excellent. Apartment very clean and well equipped for all our needs. We had breakfast in the apartment, but mostly ate out for lunch and every night for dinner. So many different choices of places to eat out. Dawn our host was very easy to contact and she responded quickly to all my enquiries. I would thoroughly recommend this to others.

Lovely big balcony and lots of space
We had a very good week here, lovely big balcony for sitting out, view of the mountains opposite. Short walk to shops, restaurant, port and beach. Extremely well equipped kitchen. Spacious bathroom. We didn't use the rooftop pool much because weather so good we were out and about or on the beach (October), but it is also lovely. We liked this apartment and would choose it again, as this is one of our favourite resorts.

Superb stay
The whole experience of staying at this apartment was excellent. From the booking process and communications prior, to the actual stay itself. The apartment is ideally situated in the lovely resort of Puerto Mogan, fully equipped with everything you may need. A special mention to Declan and Judy who supplied airport transfers and apartment cleaning respectively. Would highly recommend.

Lovely apartment in the sun!
My husband , adult daughter and myself stayed for 9 nights in this lovely apartment recently . We were met by Judy who showed us around and gave us lots of info. She was also our point of contact during our stay. The apartment was spacious , nicely decorated and extremely well equipped. The swimming pool and patio area on the roof was great, and being a residential block of apartments we were often the only people up there. The apartment was a short walk to the supermarket and only a 5 minute walk to the beach and restaurants. Just from a personal perspective I would have preferred a bigger bed in the main bedroom and whilst I like a firm mattress , the beds in the twin room were really hard . Despite that we had a lovely time, and would probably return in the future.

We have owned the apartment for 16 years so we have a wealth of experience in letting out the property and understanding our clients' needs. You'll note we have excellent feedback. We regularly update and improve our apartment facilities and we're happy to take feedback from our guests, to ensure their next stay is perfect. We have many regular returning clients who come back year after year to enjoy the relaxing space and the unique roof-top pool. We take great care in looking after the apartment for the benefit of all who stay there.

Why they chose this property

We wanted a bolt hole in the sun and this is the most perfect location, enjoying year-round sunshine, just 4 hours away. We wanted somewhere that our family and friends could use, catering for every age range, to enjoy the relaxation, the glorious sunshine and the beautiful area, as well as the facilities of the delightful and spacious fully equipped apartment, just like a home-from-home, but in the sun! It is a large apartment, compared to most in the area, which is why we made this choice and with the added benefit of the roof-top pool which is a little oasis. It was the perfect place for us, giving us the option of lazing around on the private secluded balcony, or popping up from apartment to pool for a quick cool-down dip, without having to step onto the street!

What makes this property unique

Without doubt, the unique benefit of this apartment is the roof-top pool on the building! Not many apartments in the area offer a fabulous roof-top pool! And one that is rarely busy, with plenty of available sunloungers!

Mogan's micro-climate means warm weather virtually all year, so you'll be glad of the pool being just upstairs!

The apartment is large, spacious and air-conditioned, with fabulous open plan living, with a private and secluded balcony. Plenty of space for all the family.

It's a bright modern apartment with flat screen wall-mounted TV, with hundreds of channels including ALL the usual UK channels, via satellite (as well as many Sky channels) Netflix and free wi-fi. The same comforts as at home, but in the sun!

This apartment is bright and fun. It's a holiday apartment that makes you smile. It really offers genuine comfortable living, true relaxation, lovely roof-top pool (which is heated during the winter months) and privacy.

For a trip out, take bus to other parts of the island. Fares are usually cheap at 2 or 3 euros each way.

Boats regularly leave from the harbour area to other resorts such as Puerto Rico, Anfi and Arguineguin. Taxis can be taken from the taxi rank near the beach.

Drive inland where you'll find contrasting lush green mountains and stunning views.

The south is the most popular part of the island including our resort of Puerto de Mogán (the picturesque village also known as Little Venice), which is in our opinion the prettiest and most relaxing resort on the island.
