About this property
Gorgeous Master Suite in Shared Cap. Hill Historic Row Home, Steps to Capitol
Enjoy our master bedroom suite with private bathroom in our gorgeous 1880's historic row home in the Stanton Park area of Capitol Hill, just a few short blocks from the Senate, Supreme Court, Library of Congress and U.S. Capitol Building. My home features a gourmet chef's kitchen, outdoor deck area, grill, and gorgeous manicured grounds. Eastern Market and Union Station Metro stations are about a 10 minute walk, and there are several restaurants, coffee shops, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods that are even closer. I also include a free parking pass upon request when reservation is made.

The space
In DC for holidays like the 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas or a special occasion like a Presidential Inauguration? Look no further than my beautiful three story home on historic Capitol Hill with fully equipped kitchen and spacious living room and dining room on the 1st floor. On the second floor there are 2 master bedroom suites separated by a long hallway. On the lower lever is a half bath and washer/dryer that you can use.
Our home is about 15 minutes from the airport (DCA) and street parking is available upon request at time of booking. You'll be within walking distance of two metro stations (Union Station and Eastern Market), the grocery store and fantastic restaurants and night life. From this location you can easily access both the Eastern Market/Barrack's Row area as well as the H Street Corridor! If you want recommendations of restaurants, cafes, and places to visit, be sure to ask.
Capitol Hill is one of the greenest neighborhoods in the city! From the pictures you can see that the home is on a tree lined street (like much of the Hill). Stanton Park is less than a block away and is a popular park for dog, people and kid watching.
The week of 4th of July is fantastic in DC. The fireworks are of course an awesome sight and are within walking distance of our home. I also recommend the concert put on by PBS on the west lawn of the US Capitol. The dress rehearsal is on July 3rd and then the main show on July 4th. The main difference is that the concert on July 3rd has fewer crowds, doesn't have all the performers and doesn't end with the fireworks.
Guest access
The guest have access to the entire house (except the second master bedroom-that is the owner’s suite) that includes a large open living a dining room, kitchen with coffee maker, kettle for tea, a back deck, refrigerator, and other kitchen amenities. There's also a back deck.
Interaction with guests
There is limited interaction with the host, but the host is easily accessible by text, email and phone.
Other things to note
The home was built in the mid-1800's and was fully restored with historical detail in 1998. The home is very clean and well maintained. I have lived in the home since 1999.
Please only put toilet paper down toilets.
PARKING: On-street parking requires a zoned parking permit, which is provided free of charge for guests to park one vehicle during their stay upon request at time of booking. Parking for additional vehicles is available several blocks away at a 24-hour access surface lot for about $15 per day on SpotHero App.
Spot Hero app lists several parking options nearby.
