Outdoor adventure and resort comfort awaits - Strange Farms guests will have access to over 50 acres including a 70 acre stocked lake. The gathering place for your group is the Dock House which is a first-class entertainment area with wood burning fireplace, HDTV, and kitchen with a surrounding view of The Lake.

Lodging on the property with 30 beds is available in 5 Glamping Tents and 1 Cabin which have bedding, mattresses, electricity, and private bathrooms.

**NOTE: Additional lodging for up to 10 is available in our Guest and Carriage Houses from January to August. Please message Sarah for more details and pricing.**

Activities include swimming, fishing, kayaking hiking trails, mountain biking, and lawn games.

Guided activities can be added to your stay for a fee include rifle, pistol, and/or skeet shooting in an outdoor shooting range, ATV riding, and fishing.

We love Strange Farms!

Our family has enjoyed Strange Farms for many years. It is such a relaxing getaway from the busyness of our normal routine. Fishing, swimming, hanging out around the fire, and so many more special memories. The hardest part is leaving. We are already looking forward to our next trip!

Great Property, perfect for our small group outing

The property is unique with it's Air Conditioned Glamping Tents. They were cool and comfortable. The Dock House provided a great venue for preparing meals with a fully stocked commercial kitchen, we only had to bring the food. The Dock House provided an intimate meeting place, and some serious ping pong battles. Jed and his team took us out for a time of clay and target shooting, teaching a novice group how to hit the target. It is a great venue with many options of activities to choose from depending on your needs. Great Service and Attention to detail. We will definitely be back. Amazing get away!

We traveled to central GA with 8 college buddies to relax, catch up on life and play a little.... and mission accomplished. Jed and the team at Strange Farms were wonderful. We stayed 3 nights in the Carriage House... fished, shot skeet and pistols and were fully able to chill and be away from the city. We checked out the Glamping tents and don’t be fooled... the are not like tents... look super comfortable with AC and heat and full bathrooms. The dock house is beautiful... on the water and awesome sunrise and sunsets.... it has a full kitchen and we were able to watch football and it’s a great hang. Full recommendation on this place if you want to get out of town, host and small or larger group and just enjoy the outdoors and beauty of the farm!!

Restored and ready to go back!

Our family has hosted several events at Strange Farms and fall more in love with it every time. We are huge fans of glamping -- all the comforts of home (cozy beds, a hot shower, heat & AC, a coffee maker & fridge) in a serene yet wild setting. There’s something about waking up to the honking of geese, sipping a cup of coffee outside your tent and watching the mist hovering over the lake. Time slows down here and provides an ideal setting for gathering with family and friends. If you’re active, there’s plenty to do - paddle boarding, canoeing, ping pong, volleyball, swimming and fishing. We’ve watched many a kid catch their first fish and the more experienced ones catch their first trophy bass. The little beach and wading area is ideal for young children, and our big kids love jumping off the dock. If you enjoy nature, there are walking trails through the woods and along the lake, where we’ve spotted deer, rabbits, eagles, beavers and turtles. If you just want to relax, the dock house has plenty of room and seating inside and out. Catering is offered, but we never mind cooking and grilling on the dock with that view over the water. This farm is a rare place -- isolated yet comfortable, wild yet peaceful. We leave restored and ready to go back every single time!

Amazing spot for large groups!

I've been planning and executing business meetings/retreats since 2012, and this was by far my best experience. We brought 27 people to Georgia for annual leadership, and were stunned by the amenities and location. Though it sits over 2 hours from ATL, the property is massive. Both private and spacious is a rare combo, but this place has both. Operator Jed Strange was quick to respond, checked in often, and gave us more options that we expected for fun. The common area was well suited for groups of this size, and the spacious kitchen allowed for large meals to be easily prepared. The tents were comfortable, keeping sleepers cool through 85 degree temps. Linens & towels were provided, as well as basic toiletries. The Guest house was well appointed for a few people, and only 6-8 minutes from the farm. Huge thanks to Strange Farms for making our leadership meeting a great success. We will be back!

Absolutely Wonderful!

We have been to Strange Family Farms 3 times now, once with a group and twice as a family. We love it there! It's beautiful and clean and quiet...the perfect place for a much needed break from the hustle and bustle. An absolutely perfect place to rest with your family and friends. We have four kids that are never bored a single minute with all there is to do...boats, fishing, a beach, and plenty of space to run! And the accommodations are wonderful. Seriously, the beds are so comfortable and the glamping tents allow you to have all that you love about staying outdoors without all the things you don't! I give it 5 stars all around and we can't wait to go back!!!

The only way we'll ever "camp" from now on!

Absolutely AMAZING weekend at Strange Farms!! This was our family's first time to ever go "camping," so I was a little nervous about what to expect.... What a surprise we were in for when we showed up at Strange Farms, and it blew away any reservation we ever had about not being "outdoorsy" people -- This is like the Ritz Carlton of camping!!! My four kids still got to feel like we were camping in the outdoors with the awesome glamping tents, we were surrounded by the most amazing beauty of creation everywhere we looked and the serenity of the stunning lake that the tents overlook, and the exciting sounds of nature around us with the crickets and birds chirping.....BUT we had REAL beds (so unbelievably comfy memory foam ones!!), an AC unit(!!!), running water, hot shower, and a flushing toilet all part of the tent!!! (and not even one bug in our tent the entire 3 days, wow!! Everything was SO clean!) Um, seriously -- this was AMAZING... Our family had so much room to spread out in the tent with 5 double beds, even a coffee maker(!), all the things you could need in the bathroom like a hairdryer/first aid kit/many towel hangers, and even fresh towels in the shape of animals on our beds upon arrival! This is the ONLY way we will ever camp from now on for sure!!:) The dockhouse is just as amazing and soo beautiful and nicely done, providing an incredible gathering spot with large kitchen, and is the perfect spot to sit and watch the kids play in the lake all day long! Not to mention all of the things available here to do too, such as skeet shooting or bike trails and all the lake activities. We are in love with Strange Farms and can't wait to return!!--Well worth every bit of the 9 hour drive for us!

Beautiful and fully accommodating facilities!

I can't say enough nice things about this property and the property owners! This was the perfect place for our business retreat of 15 people. The Glamping Tents overlooked the lake and were very clean and comfy! They even turned on the heater and electric blankets prior to our arrival! The guest house had such charm and comfortable beds. The dock house was well equipped with everything we needed; the industrial kitchen was amazing! The fireplace kept us warm during our meetings and the meeting room was very spacious. We have another retreat scheduled for the fall. I would highly recommend using Strange Farms for your next business retreat or family get-away!

Beautiful & unique get-a-way

Strange Farm was the perfect setting for a small retreat we recently hosted for work. The setting of the tents and the dock house is beautiful, peaceful and remote, yet there is so much to do on property to stay entertained. Our group loved fishing, skeet and target shooting, mule rides and just relaxing by the huge fireplace. The "Glamping" experience was new to most people but everyone commented on how nice everything was and how comfortable the beds were. Despite the cold February temperatures, we stayed warm and comfortable under the heated blankets and had no complaints at all. Jed Strange is a gracious and friendly host who made everyone feel very welcome. I look forward to future trips, both professional and personal, to Strange Farm.

A beautiful and relaxing stay

I have stayed at Strange Farms two times. Once with just a few friends and the second time with 20 of my friends from church. Both times we stayed in the Glamping Tents and both times they were amazing!! All of the tents were stocked with just what we needed, including heated blankets on each bed. The floating dock provided amazing and tranquil views. It also allowed a closed in space for eating while still enjoying the views. The Stange family were nothing short of amazing when dealing with my never ending emails. I would highly recommend this place for a nice weekend away!

Strange Farms not Strange at all!

Our Women’s Ministry decided to have our first annual Women’s Retreat at Strange Farms. This place is Holy ground. Not only is it beautiful but the perfect get away. Several of our women had never “glamped” and we all left there saying it was perfect! I hesitate to call the accommodations tents because they are beautiful, clean, nice big bathrooms , comfortable beds......every need met! The Dock House was a wonderful gathering place along with sunsets, paddle boarding, singing and studying. Thank you, Jed and family for letting us be a part of what y’all have created as a respite from the hustle and bustle of life. You all honor God with Strange Farms! We will be back!

Amazing!

We held our annual corporate retreat at Strange Farms this past week. What an amazing place! The Dock House with Apple TV and a commercial kitchen was perfect for our presentations and cooking for a large group. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need. It was cold! But the Dock House was warm and comfortable. The Tents were also warm and comfortable with all of our employees enjoying the experience. The level of attention and care that Jed and his staff provide is outstanding. We genuinely felt like we were his personal guest instead of a short term tenant. I am looking forward to re-booking next year so we can add activities we weren't able to get to this time. First class operation, first class family!

Incredibly peaceful and flawless

Our group of about 30 had an AMAZING experience at Strange Farms. Jed is an extraordinarily kind host, who was both accommodating and generous. He treated our group like family! The "Glamping Tents" were unbelievably comfortable and spotless with beds created in heaven! We cooked gourmet meals in the industrial kitchen inside the Lakefront Dock house and we dined watching the beautiful sunset each evening on the dock. This is a top-notch camping experience that I would recommend to everyone. The staff was kind and thoughtful and left a lasting impression with our team. Our corporate group takes many trips throughout the year, all over the U.S., and the accommodations at Strange Farms has been one of the best that we've experienced. Beautiful Seclusion!

Truly a unique and beautiful property in the heart of South GA. It was the perfect place for my Bridal Shower. We were able to prepare all of the food onsite and keep little feet entertained on the beach while everything was going on. Would recommend to anyone needing to host an event! Great Family Vacation – Outdoor Fun and Southern Charm

Our family of ~ 30 kids/adults and 3 generations had an incredible time at the Strange Farm for our 2018 summer family vacation. It’s a mix of outdoor fun and living, with all of the necessary comforts. The tents were clean and beds comfortable. The dock house was the family favorite and extremely convenient with a kitchen and bathrooms. It’s where we spent most of our time – relaxing on and in the lake, playing games, watching movies, fishing, and enjoying family meals. In addition the Strange family was able to help us fit in ATV rides, water slides, volleyball, white water rafting, and skeet shooting!! From our family to theirs a sincere THANK YOU for giving us a home away from home to disconnect from work and to connect with family.

Perfect! Distraction free private retreat

Our group of 8 men enjoyed 2 nights at the Strange farm in late spring. We could not have imagined a better place to spend our time! The property was beautiful and the lodging was exceptional. We slept in what were called tents, however they were the first tents I have been in that had full bathrooms (shower, restroom, sinks), 5 beds and air conditioning! They were so comfortable. We spent the rest of our time on the lake and in the boathouse. The kitchen was ideal and fully equipped for us to cook our meals. The dining area and gathering area (complete with sofas and chairs) was large and easily accommodated our entire group. The lake is beautiful and the fish were willing, everyone caught fish. The boats were well kept which made fishing the lake easy. The place was just ideal. It is perfectly designed to comfortably host a group of people with everything you need to support a relaxing time together. Thank you Jed for allowing us to spend some time at your farm, it was awesome!
