You can be as quiet or as busy as you wish!

6 wineries & 3 farm breweries within 5 miles, plus music & art festivals, wedding & event facilities, golf courses, horseback riding, bull riding, farm markets, hot air balloons, and more. 30 minutes to Gettysburg and other Civil War sites; 45 minutes to Baltimore's Inner Harbor; 60 minutes to Washington, DC. Sunset House has 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, breakfast area, 2 living rooms, laundry room, spacious deck for dining and gathering, front patio, rolling front lawn, and plenty of space for kids.

Front entrance and most of the main level are handicapped accessible.

THINGS TO NOTE
Sunset House is surrounded by working crop and livestock farms. While we love the sounds of country life, some visitors are surprised by all the sounds! Cows and steers, goats and sheep, sometimes coyote, fox and livestock guard dogs - particularly on clear evenings or during full moons! And farmers do "make hay while the sun shines," but they also have to make it when the weather is dry, and that can mean they are occasionally haying or harvesting on Sundays or at night, in order to get it while the weather is favorable. We and most of our guests enjoy the sounds of country life, particularly the church bells.

CARETAKER'S QUARTERS
There is a private caretaker's apartment with a separate entrance attached to the rear of the house; caretaker has separate parking.

GETTING AROUND
You will need your own wheels! There is no public transportation, and this area is not very popular with cab companies, Uber or Lyft.

PARKING
3-4 mid-size cars (or 2-3 large SUVs) can fit in parking area by entrance; additional parking available. Car/limo services available in Frederick.

PER NIGHT RATES - OPTION 1 (April through December)
$350 per night up to 6 guests, minimum 2 nights.
$25 per extra guest; max 12 guests

PER NIGHT RATES - OPTION 2 (April through December)
$1,500 per week, up to 6 guests
$25 per extra guest per week, max 12 guests
(Staying more than 4 nights? Don't rely on the VRBO calculator! Ask about weekly rates, as we can be more flexible about the definition of a "week" than can VRBO, and we can adjust accordingly.)

EXTENDED STAYS

$250 Cleaning Fee for up to 6 people; addition $100 cleaning fee if over 6 people.
