Why Forest View ADK LLC chose Inlet
Forest View Camp is an original Adirondack Camp and has a rich history in this area. Originally built in 1915 using wood from the land, this cabin provided living quarters for the civil engineers of the time to build the road access system for Gould Paper Company, now called the Moose River Plains Recreation Area. The floor joists are hand hewn hemlock and the original pot-belly stove chimney still remains in the center of the camp (non-functional now). It was used for years as a base camp for hunters to access the remote wilderness of the Plains. Abandoned in 1983, it fell into a state of disrepair. Purchased in 2014 and taking nearly 2 years to refurbish, it now provides a comfortable setting to enjoy the wilderness.
What makes this Cabin unique
People describe Forest View Camp as a classic Adirondack camp. It is small, but is cozy and comfortable. Forest View is a place that is off the "beaten trail" and provides convenient access to Limekiln Lake and the vast surrounding wilderness. Location, Location , Location ! Inlet and Old Forge are in the central Adirondack region, close to many fantastic attractions and activities. Nicely maintained and moderately refurbished, this cabin sustains its rustic character, while providing modern day comforts and amenities.
