About this property

Town Centre convenience with hot-tub pampering

Aalen 2 is part of a downstairs unit, owners live upstairs. A third bedroom acts as a studio and can be booked together with suite or independently. It is located about 200m from the main shops and restaurants of Jindabyne. However, as it is on a battle-axe block, it is quiet and private. In the Suite configurations, there are 2 bedrooms 1 queen bed a 2 x single twin. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the sitting area includes a small dining, with access to a tidy formal garden.. The outside BBQ area and garden, has views of the lake. Off-street parking for 1 car, with a second space often available. Aalen 2 shares a washer/dryer with the Studio, to catch up on holiday chores. Free wifi throughout the house with unlimited data, or get out into the cool Snowy Mountains. You can walk to the lake, or get back into the car to drive to the hiking and picnic areas of Kosciuszko National Park. The area now boasts many mountain bike trails, or venture out for some trout fishing on the lake or in the mountain streams.

Notes
1) . During winter and summer peak holiday season, Friday & Saturday nights cannot be booked independently, i.e. this means no arrivals or departures on a Saturday. No problem in off peak times
2). The entry/laundry is the only shared internal space, but gardens and BBQ are shared by owners and Studio guests.
3). An overly friendly chocolate labrador "Libby" lives upstairs, but will definitely want to say hello and beg for pats and food scraps. Please do not feed her. If you don't like dogs, she can be contained upstairs for the duration of your stay, on request. We do not encourage other pets because Libby would be so excited and the other animal may have no peace. - not to mention the subsequent garden damage.

Dianne was amazing, so helpful. Everything done up like new, had a great feel, comfortable, clean and cozy. Spa after skiing was great. Short walk to restaurants in Jindabyne. We are putting this at the top of our go to places to stay.

Aalen Suite was perfect for our snow getaway. Host Dianne adds a personal touch that makes it feel like a home away from home. Well equipped kitchen, laundry facilities provide all the mod cons, and the fire pit and spa give that little bit of luxury. Highly recommend, we'll definitely be back.

I am a retired secondary school teacher. Having owned Aalen 1 for a number of years, I took the opportunity to purchase Aalen2 when it came on the market. In 2019 Aalen 1 was sold to finance extension upstairs to Aalen 2, though I retain management of Aalen 1. My husband , myself and our labrador live upstairs Aalen 2, and look forward to saying Hi during your stay.

Why they chose this property

I love the location so much, that I have chosen to move in to Aalen 2 with my husband, after adapting it to our personal needs . I hope to continue to holiday rent the original downstairs bedrooms, while living upstairs myself. There is a beautiful and friendly feel to the house., with outside areas to make staying at Aalen a great experience.

What makes this property unique

The main attraction of this house is the location. Not only close to shops, but lake views from the garden. My aim over coming years will be to improve that garden making it more attaractive to guests. I thought it was funny one day when I came to do some work there, a couple of religious guests staying in the bigger house had come round to enjoy the peace of Aalen 2 garden, and meditate. Quite a surprise as I walked round the corner, but totally understandable. The atmosphere in the north east corner is so inviting, and the light and sunshine in the studio are also welcoming. However, most people stay in Aalen because of its convenient location - easy walk to restaurants and bars, easy drive to Perisher or Thredbo, easy walk to the lake, and plenty of off-street parking for cars and bikes.
