About this property

Spacious home with plenty of space over two levels with an open and welcoming ambiance. Situated on almost two acres, this home includes two large living rooms and fully equipped kitchen overlooking a beautiful wooded lot. Enjoy nature in the backyard complete with seating/dining area, hot tub and fire pit. If you like to grill outside, this home features both gas and charcoal grills. Walk along the lakefront or hunt for beach glass via public stairs a short (.3 of a mile) walk away. Public stairs provide access to walk the shoreline; but this access does not come with dedicated beach access. Every sunset is amazing along the lakefront!

Cleaning fee covers cost of my cleaning crew and professional linen service for linens. Property fee is used for maintenance and is charged in lieu of security deposit.

Lovely place for a getaway weekend

My family and I stayed for a weekend and we really liked this house. We had a couple of issues but Karen responded immediately and resolved the issue. The house is in a very good location with the lake just a couple of blocks walk away. We loved the hot tub. We would have liked the rooms to be a little cleaner, but the beds were very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.

Delightful home

Renting this property was easy and the host was easily the kindest, most helpful we’ve ever had, and that is saying a lot since we rent homes often and have had outstanding experiences! This house is as great as the photos make it out to be! It was just delightful! It is very close to the lake, though we got a bit confused finding the public beach (our fault!) The kitchen was supplied with everything we needed and more! The dining area on the “porch” was wonderful. Downstairs there is a play room for kids, as well as a complete family room (in addition to the upstairs living room). It is a very nice place to rent. We went as a family… With four married couples, and two young children. It was great.

Great Stay

The house is very spacious and well located. Close to Suagutuck/Douglas and also South Haven. The house is nice, clean, and the kitchen is well stocked. We enjoyed evenings with a fire and the hot tub is a very nice bonus. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Peaceful and relaxing stay

We had a wonderful stay here! The home was so spacious and peaceful. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach, the hot tub, and the wonderful kitchen. This home is perfect for groups or a family! It was the perfect spot to spend a week.

Great Ladies Weekend

This is our second time renting this home for a ladies getaway weekend and we're hoping to come back a third time next year! The home is just as it looks in pictures and just a short walk from the lake. There was plenty of space for the 5 of us to spread out be comfortable and our favorite part is the hot tub! The kitchen is the best equipped I've ever seen at a rental and between the outdoor space and common areas there was so much room for us to be together and then also have space when we needed a break.

My family and I have been vacationing and owners of several rental properties in southwest Michigan since 2011. In addition to West Winds, we also own vacation rentals in South Haven and Allegan. We love the relaxed outlook and amenities this part of Michigan has to offer. Hiking, walking on the beach, antiques, dining and exploring local farms and orchards are some of our favorite things. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

We love the location - we are close to Saugatuck, Holland, South Haven, Grand Rapids, but the small subdivision and wooded area make it feel like you are a world away. Being close to the Lake, we love begin able to walk along the lakefront and watch the sunset from Lake Shore Drive. We love combing the beach for beach glass. We picked this home because of its size - all of our family and friends can be together, without feeling like we are on top of each other. We love to roast marshmallows in the fire pit and soak in the hot tub after hiking in Rosy Mound or Saugatuck Dunes. We always leave West Winds feeling refreshed!

What makes this property unique

West Winds is located in a terrific spot. It's a great base camp for exploring all over southwest Michigan. We also love how private our lot is and how close we are to the Lake. We also love we can take the Interurban to and from the house to Saugatuck. Which is great in the summer time because parking in Saugatuck can be a challenge.
