Lovely stay!
This was our second time staying in the Bourbon Cottage. We fell in love with it - and the charming town - even more the second time around! Margaret Sue is a great host!

Nice home in great location
House is very clean, had everything we needed for our stay, and is in a super location right in town. Weather was nice so we got to enjoy the side and front porches as well. Check in was as easy as it gets and check out was even easier. Had a great stay and would definitely stay here again!

Great location, adorable historic house
We’ve stayed here twice in the past three years and it’s great. The exterior is charming as is the interior. The kitchen is great to cook in, the bathroom is spacious, and the bed is super comfy! There is some street noise to contend with but we don’t find it outrageous. The location is just one block off the Main Street where the shops and restaurants are. The Scout & Scholar brewery is less than a block away and has a really lovely courtyard if the weather is nice. If you like hiking it’s just a short drive to Bernheim Forest. Margaret Sue is a very gracious and responsive host. There’s a large binder in the kitchen with plenty of info you might need. There is coffee and snacks waiting on the counter, and bottled waters in the fridge. We will gladly stay again!

Hello, I am Margaret Sue Masters and I along with my husband, Michael Masters, known as "The Colonel", have bought and restored the Bourbon Cottage in 2015. We have been in the hospitality business for over 20 years in Bardstown. We have revived and restored 4 cottages for vacation rentals in the historic district of downtown Bardstown.
In 2004 we bought and restored the Chapeze House, circa 1787, downtown off the court square. In 2010 we converted this property into the Kentucky Bourbon House, a Boutique Hotel wtih charming private suites. We also conduct in the Bourbon Bar 2 classes: Bourbon University and Bourbon Mixology twice daily Mon-Sat. We also host intimate wedding ceremonies and elopement packages. Couples can choose to marry in the elegant parlor or in the formal garden that makes up the backyard.
Come and experience our "Hospitality Kentucky Style"......

Why they chose this property

I have loved this cottage and property it sits on for over 25 years. When it finally came on the market I jumped at the chance to own and restore it back to its GLORY! Flaget Avenue is one of Bardstown's premier addresses right in the heart of downtown Historic Bardstown. Sit on the porch and take in all the sites , sounds and smells (Hadorn's Bakery being next door!) that makes Bardstown truly a magical place to visit.

What makes this property unique

Bardstown is a busy little town! Our downtown has limited parking, however, Bourbon Cottage answers that parking deliemma. It's downtown close to all the attractions, restaurants, bars and nightlife, but the great thing about this cottage is you can walk and never move your car from the driveway. You are right in the thick of it all but with no parking hassles!!!
