Liesel was an amazing host - great communication and very responsive, plus she met us to show us around the apartment when we arrived. Accommodation as advertised - a really nice little spot in a quiet and pretty street, but very close to the excellent tram system, so easy to get around. Kitchen cabinets etc are older but everything works well and is very clean. Highly recommended if you want to be outside the hustle and bustle of Melbourne’s CBD but within easy reach.
Lived our stay in Hawthorn, unit is as described in easy walking distance to food and transport. Everything required for a short or long stay provided. Our hosts were super easy to communicate with and we had no problems checking in and out. Likely we will be back… super happy
Great location with access to all forms of public transport within a short walk. Local shops, restaurants and pubs are within easy reach. Quiet residential address with secluded private courtyard. Excellent communication with owner. Great stay
Best kept secret in Hawthorn - not modern but a gracefully aged sanctuary - high standard of cleanliness , good facilities, quiet peaceful and fantastic value for money - with close acess to public transport . Thank you again
Generous sized comfortable property in a convenient location
Generous sized comfortable property in a convenient location. We liked the washing machine and the parking space. Short walk to Hawthorn station. Very short walk to #70 or #75 tram. We also walked to two very nice restaurants - Mother Dough (Italian) and Momoco Sushi.
My wife and I needed a place for 6 days as we came from Canada to attend the Australian Open and visit Melbourne of course. The place is well located, in a quiet street away from the town centre but still very easy access to both the tennis centre (about 6 stops) and the city centre (an additional 6 or so stops) on Tram 70.
The place is big (it's a full apartment) with a cozy backyard. It's well equipped and we could also do our laundry which was very convenient. The price was very reasonable given the amenities and the proximity from tennis and town centre. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely try to book it again should we decide to return to Melbourne.
Enjoyed the quiet location and it was perfect for my stay in Melbourne. I am a cook and would rather eat in than takeaway so would have liked a few staples in the kitchen such as olive oil, a teapot and leaf tea and a few condiments.
The main bed was very comfortable but the couch bed mattress was old. It would be fine for a child but not comfortable for an adult.
I’d stay again if I’m welcomed and next time I’ll bring my own food stuffs.

Thanks for your feedback Anna. We offer basic supplies, like tea (bags), coffee, sugar, milk, etc). We're not a B&B and we don't offer catering. We would be charging more if we did. The apt has a kitchen for guests to use if they want to - and buy their own supplies when they do.
The sofabed was bought new from Freedom 1 year ago and the mattress has barely been used because most of our guests are singles or couples who use the main bed.
Thanks for staying with us.

The apartment is clean, spacious and well-kitted out. The bed is very comfortable. It is good value for money. Perfect for what we wanted, a base close to our daughter's home where we spent most of our time. Would book again.
The property was roomy and had everything needed for a comfortable stay away from home. The extra items included, such as coffee, tea, hand wash, shampoo, are extremely useful to any guests had forgotten to bring their own. The courtyard would be a very peaceful to sit and have a cup of coffee or read a book if you had time to relax during your stay. We were very impressed with the overall appearance of the property.
Fantastic location and a great base. Easy walk to publuc transport and cafes.
Super quiet... surprisingly so, as there are a lot of apartments in the street.
The unit is clean, tidy & comfortable and has all the basics.
Special touch of homemade jam and a few essentials which got us through an early morning start, after a late night arrival.
Cannot fault the hosts communication. Everything we needed to know was advised prior to arriving.
Would happily stay again.
Good experience with the renting process. The apartment was very clean with all we needed for our stay. It’s very bright and has a lovely garden in the back. It’s circa 1960’s but we enjoyed the retro feel. Very quiet too!
This unit was spacious and had plenty of storage. It was clean, comfortable and well eqipped. We only stayed two nights but we will need to go back to Melbourne several times over the next year for short and longer stays and we will try to book this unit first as it will be perfect for both types of trip. A very important point was how quiet it was. It is in an excellent position for transport but we couldn't hear a sound. There is also a lovely little courtyard that would be perfect in warmer weather.

Lovely quiet apartment in leafy Hawthorn
I really enjoyed my stay and the unit had everything I needed. There was a minor maintenance problem which was addressed promptly. Updating of Airconditioning might be helpful in the future. The weather was very hot during my stay and the aircon only just took the edge off.

Hi Lynda,
We're very glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the lovely review.
Being double brick with apts on both sides, the heating and cooling doesn't usually need to be used much and other guests haven't mentioned it (or the door lock, which our key opened easily) being an issue. You got really unlucky staying there with 4 days of temps in the high 30s. Even our new split system at home struggled over that period.
Thanks for staying with us and looking after place. Please do contact us again the next time you're in town!
Best wishes,
Ed and Liesel

Very comfortable apartment in a good location.
We enjoyed our stay. Good communication with Liesel and she took on board our suggestions. She was quick to help solve a plumbing issue which we were grateful for. Good value accommodation.
