About Joe Woidich and Christine Knowlton
My wife is originally from Fryeburg and we still have family and friends there. She remembers this house as a young girl and always admired it. Now we own it and hope to share it with you!
Joe Woidich and Christine Knowlton purchased this House in 2015
Why Joe Woidich and Christine Knowlton chose Fryeburg
We love the privacy and park-like setting of the property, plus its proximity to Fryeburg, North Conway, the White Mountains, the Saco River, and the Mt. Washington Valley. You're only a short drive to Outlet Shopping, Storyland, Franconia, and Portland. You can make the easy 600 feet climb to the top of Jockey Cap, just a 5 minute drive, for a 360 degree view of the Fryeburg area. Jockey Cap is a must!
What makes this House unique
Great space for the family. Great craftsman details throughout the house. Views of the yard and farmland and mountains are very tranquil. Early morning or early evening you might see deer grazing in the fields or chipmunks around the yard. See how many different bird calls you can make out. Walk to town or drive just 10-15 minutes to North Conway for outlet shopping. It's just a great location!

Cozy house in a beautiful setting
The house is full of character and in a gorgeous setting. Communication with the owner was fantastic. We had a wonderful weekend and would return again!
Delightful stay in Fryeburg, Maine
We just returned from a delightful week stay at this Maine home. The listing description was accurate. We had plenty of room (could have easily worked with the 7 maximum people as well) with plenty to spare for 4 adults. It would also be a great vacation home for a family with children. The entire house was exceptionally clean and it was very convenient to have linens and towels provided for our stay. There is a beautiful view of Maine farmland from the back of the home. We spent alot of time outdoors at lakes, mountains and the nearby North Conway village. The Saco River is a great river (right around the corner) for cooling off or floating around in a raft. We bought foods from both Westons and Sherman's (nearby farms). The home owners were easy and pleasant to deal with throughout the rental process. If you are looking for a good sized home centrally located to a variety of activities in Maine and New Hampshire, this house is for you!
Thank you Gayle & Joe! We're glad that you enjoyed your stay in Fryeburg and that we exceeded your expectations. We hope to have you stay with us again in the future the next time you're in Western Maine.
Enjoyable stay in Fryeburg vintage home
We found everything we needed and more in this amazingly well-stocked and comfortable vintage home as we explored this part of ME and NH. Took advantage of the pleasant porch in spite of the high temperatures and lack of breeze the week we stayed. The two fans we found were also helpful with that, and the bedroom A/C was a blessing at night and when we needed to cool down for a bit after being out and about. Appreciated being able to park in the garage to keep our car out of the hot sun. Perfect home for simple pleasures, too, like watching the birds at the feeder and listening to their songs in the evenings while looking over the backyard and into the field. Had plenty of fresh fruit and veg from nearby Weston’s Farm store. We were lucky to see a nearby town’s 4th of July fireworks through the dining room window, too. Joe, thanks again for your restaurant recommendations, and the other suggestions you gave us - and for checking in to be sure all was well. Bay Haven Lobster was worth the short 30 min drive. Thanks again.
Thank you, Valerie, for the wonderful review. We hope you get a chance to stay with us again.

We enjoyed the porch and gazebo very much! The property was very spacious and well stocked. We found the living room a little dark. The place could have been cleaner and the place had a musty smell. I don’t think I would rent the property again.
We're very sorry to first hear about your disappointment only after you checked out. I always contact our guests the day after they check-in asking how they are enjoying themselves, if everything is satisfactory, and if we could be of any assistance. Since I only had your home phone, I could only email you, but you had stated "everything is great so far". You had mentioned a problem with the upstairs bathroom sink stopper, but you got that resolved on your own and stated, "...so we are OK." After I responded back to you, I didn't hear any more from you again, so I could only assume that all was well. If you would have contacted me during your stay, we would have had the opportunity to address your concerns.

Wonderful Winter Stay!
Our family had the pleasure of making this lovely property our “home away from home” for ski race season. Super clean with comfy beds, lots of room to spread out, and all the amenities you could want. Our boys loved the ping pong table, and we had many great dinners and card games around the beautiful dining table. Joe and Christine are super attentive and easy to communicate with! We will definitely be back!
Lisa & Mike,
Thank you for the great review! Christine and I are glad you and your family enjoyed your extended stay during the winter. We look forward to having you back again!
Wonderful vacation home and welcoming hosts.
This quaint home is the perfect place for a family get away in the mountains. Every thing that you could need was available and The hosts were very helpful and responsive to all our needs. Would definately stay there again.
Thank you, Pamela! We're glad you enjoyed your stay at our house! We look forward to hearing from you again.
A great location to use as a base while you are in the White Mountains area! Walk to downtown Fryeburg and Fryeburg Academy and Weston's Farm or Weston's Beach on the Saco River. Just minutes away from Fryeburg Fairgrounds (Fryeburg Fair in Oct) and Jockey Cap hiking trail. Sherman's Farm only 10 minutes away with its kid's petting zoo and Fall Corn Maze. North Conway is only 15 minutes away. Storyland about 17 miles; Flume Gorge and Franconia Notch about 50 miles; Mt. Washington Cog Railway 44 miles.
