This award winning home (Santa Fe Home Show, Remodelers Showcase & Parade of Homes, Phoenix Award) is available for your long-term stay. If you have an eye for quality and luxury, this home will suit you perfectly. Lovingly rebuilt in 2015, Casa Miguelita is an old adobe with new systems. All new appliances, finishes, and floors provide the backdrop for high quality and luxurious furnishings, linens and art. Two sets of french doors open onto portals (patios) and a huge shade tree keeps them cool in summer. The house is set behind locking street side doors, adding to the privacy of the outdoor space.

Safe and quiet, just 2 blocks from famed Canyon Road and its renowned restaurants and world-class galleries, Casa Miguelita is delightfully located in a serene setting, yet moments from so much that makes Santa Fe special. The neighborhood provides divine walking opportunities: the famed Acequia Madre and its meandering lane, a trail along the Santa Fe River all with a distinctly European style.

The home has two bedrooms, each tastefully decorated with luxury bedding, and an elegant bathroom. The kitchen has high end appliances, toaster oven and a gas range. A kiva-style fireplace is the focus of the cozy living room with couch and two leather recliners. Each of the two bedrooms has its own locally controlled heat and air conditioning unit, as does the living room. Dedicated office space is located between the dining room and a south-facing portal. A wireless printer is located here for your use. The entry and office space can be closed off in winter to keep heat in the main part of the home.

The contractor and designer entered Casa Miguelita in the 2015 Santa Fe 'Parade of Homes', winning the Phoenix Award for best restoration, and in 2016 in the Santa Fe Area Home Builder's Association's Remodeler's Showcase recognized the property and the contractor.

Santa Fe is a world-class destination for adults. Hiking, skiing and mountain biking are very popular, the restaurants and art galleries unparalleled. The Historical Review Board monitors all building applications in the historic areas to keep the old-world charm of Santa Fe and Casa Miguelita definitely fits its locale.

A word of caution--Santa Fe is located at 7000' above sea level and the lower oxygen content of the air can cause difficulty breathing for those with heart and/or lung issues.

Amazing Home and Experience

Lovely casita that became our home for 3 months.

The casita is located in a great area. It is close to town but very quiet and minutes away from great walking areas. It is modern and cozy at the same time. The kitchen is well equipped and Susan is always available if you need anything. I highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a great Santa Fe experience.

A Cozy Stay

I arrived in cold weather and snow on the ground. Susan greeted me at the door and showed me the house, which is a wonderful renovation of an old adobe. Everything was lovely. The kitchen was great and had everything necessary to make meals. The bathroom is nice and had plenty of drawer space. The kiva fireplace was a charming feature that I enjoyed many times. All the creature comforts along with the charm of the historic east side made for a great stay.

A perfect month in Santa Fe

Casa Miguelita was the perfect place for us to spend a month in Santa Fe. It is a beautifully modern, tasteful, and sophisticated renovation of an old adobe, with great attention to detail. It is exactly as advertised, efficiently arranged, and comfortably furnished; beds are very comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped and very functional. It is close enough to town center for walking most places, but pleasantly far enough from heavily trafficked streets to be very quiet. Al fresco dinners on the patio are delightful. Parking is generous for one car, tricky but doable for 2 if not large. Owner Susan Larson is delightful, unobtrusive, and was very attentive to our needs, which were few, given how well thought-out the accommodations are. Icing on the cake: an hour-long aerial scenic tour of the area in the owner's private airplane; it was awesome to see the same places we'd visited (Bandelier, Valle Grande, etc) from above, and she obviously enjoys the opportunity to share this gorgeous part of the world with visitors. Highly recommend; we'll be returning.

Exceptional home - Early Spring: Two months in Santa Fe

Ideally located in historic neighborhood / mere steps from the artist haven of Canyon Road, this home was perfect for our sojourn to Santa Fe. Casa Miguelita is beautifully appointed low key elegance. The award winning home - a combination of modern and timelessness - felt approachable and exquisite simultaneously. All amenities are top of the line. We found the neighborhood friendly, comfortable and welcoming. Susan - our host - was knowledgeable and very helpful (where to find the best coffee - how to use all the appliances and entertainment system - best food and shopping). Even the beds and linens are inviting. Location, comfort and amenities... This home and our experience was amazing. We cannot recommend Casa Miguelita and Susan enough. Thank you Susan. We cannot wait to come back.

Wonderfully authentic Santa Fe Experience

This rental was exceptional. The location, just off Canyon Road was beautiful, well appointed and offered any amenity a traveler could hope for. Stone walls, enclosed adobe patio and over the top home furnishings made this home away from home a perfect choice.

Our Santa Fe 'Home Away From Home'

My wife and I recently enjoyed a month's stay at Casa Miguelita. We were greeted by the owner with fresh flowers, wine and cheese and a walk through to show us all the features of the house. Throughout our stay, we felt very comfortable and relaxed, just enjoying the well-furnished spaces and the charming details. The owner has thought of everything! We also loved the location of the house, just off of Canyon Rd. We were within walking distance of great restaurants and galleries. We would recommend this house to anyone who wants to enjoy the "enchantment" of Santa Fe!

A hidden gem in Santa Fe

We had a wonderful stay in April at Casa Miguelita. This home recently was extensively renovated and it was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we needed for our month stay in Santa Fe. The owner is justifiably proud of Casa Miguelita which has been featured in the Santa Fe Parade of Homes. She is also very gracious and it was a pleasure to work with her. Casa Miguelita is located in a charming older section of Santa Fe close to excellent restaurants and art galleries on Canyon Road. We hope to return to Casa Miguelita soon and continue our exploration of Santa Fe and take in an opera or two.

The perfect Santa Fe lodging!

Beautiful, comfortable and elegant home in the heart of Santa Fe and close to everything! I felt at home from the first minute and would return in a heartbeat. It's decorated with love as well as exquisite taste, and features all the furnishings, appliances and comforts one could need. It's safe and quiet, and feels both cozy and spacious. Evening walks in the surrounding area revealed breathtaking sunsets and vistas, and it's walking distance from famed Canyon Road and wonderful restaurants. It was truly a joy to spend a month at Casa Miguelita this summer. Highest recommendation!

Gem of a home in to the heart of Santa Fe

This remodeled adobe home has it all: charm, perfectly detailed furnishings, light, quiet, and a feeling of home. The neighborhood is equally colorful and downtown was easily accessible. I would gladly return to stay there if the opportunity arose, and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a delightful stay in Santa Fe. Its a special place that you will feel perfectly rested and refreshed to take in all the area has to offer.

A former CPA, business owner and hands on manager for both a manufacturing company and a helicopter tour and charter operation, the business environment always beckons to me. My passion is flight, my joy is architecture and my greatest love is my dog, Obie.

Why they chose this property

Just steps from my first home in Santa Fe, this property was intended to be remodeled and sold. However a far more extensive amount of work had to be done. All the floors were pulled up and the dirt hauled out in wheelbarrows. The perimeter foundation, where it could be salvaged, was reinforced and protected from water intrusion. Where it couldn't be salvaged, an entire room was rebuilt. The adobe walls were covered from the constant summer storms and the ceiling supported throughout the rebuilding process.

Throughout the teardown and rebuild, I came to love the little house, and continually added upgraded features to it. Rather than selling it, I chose to furnish and decorate it, and then offer it for mid-term rentals, fully ready to move in with just a suitcase.
