A modern, architecturally designed 2 story home built to capture expansive and breathtaking valley and mountain views on a working olive and cattle farm - Poppa's Olives! Relax and unwind on the upstairs deck, enjoy the spoils of the wine fridge and stocked pantry. Cook up a storm on the deck's bbq or the custom designed kitchen. The indoor open fireplace is perfect for cosy nights with a great bottle (or two...) of Hunter Valley wine! Or enjoy a night under the stars and around the campfire with our outdoor firepit!

Located at Poppa's Olives - a working olive and cattle farm on over 200 acres! Poppa's Place is your perfect place to getaway from it all! With a totally unique 2 story design, it captures the most amazing sunrises and sunsets across the valley and mountain ranges. The large open-plan living style is more than spacious for 8 guests. Make yourself at home!

Of the four large bedrooms, two have walk in robes and one has a full ensuite and the bath that captures the most amazing valley views as you soak away your cares! Two bedrooms have private balconies, showcasing more amazing views over the valley. Have a big family? Ask us about how we cater for larger groups (there's an additional sofa bed and two day beds - just byo linen for them). Watch the kids play on the outdoor equipment as you relax around the outdoor firepit (fire regulations permitting - check with us). For the cavemen, grab the wheelbarrow and gather the wood yourself! Prefer the creature comforts? Enjoy the indoor open fireplace with complimentary kindling and firewood (and firestarters for the novices!). Take a leisurely stroll around the farm.. through the olive grove, around the dams, feed the cattle, horses, chickens and alpacas (just mind the cow pats!). Enjoy nature at its best!

And please be mindful - if you're all having lots of showers morning and night, you may run out of hot water... Welcome to farm life!

The beautiful Hunter River, swimming holes and the oldest winery in Australia - Dalwood Estate (once Wyndham Estate) are just 2kms down the road! It's 5 min to town, 15min to Hunter Vineyards and concert venues, 40min to Newcastle Beaches (and Newcasatle Airport) and 2hrs from Sydney.

We had a fabulous time celebrating my partners 30th birthday weekend. The hosts were so lovely and allowed us to have people visit for a BBQ. The place is perfect for both entertaining and for a relaxing weekend away taking in the breathtaking landscape and relaxed atmosphere. The animals were very entertaining also!

This property was gorgeous. The kids enjoyed feeding the chickens and having marshmallows roasted in the fire pit.The views were incredible and the Catherine was always available to answer any questions.The kids loved the play equipment provided, and the wine and chocolate for the adults was much appreciated.Making a coffee and sitting on the balcony watching the sun rise was a highlight of the trip. Fantastic house in a great location. Kids were able to explore the property and interact with lots of animals over our stay. Catherine was fantastic giving the kids jobs which they really enjoyed doing to help out on the farm with the animals. We came with family and friends, 8 of us all had a lovely, relaxed and enjoyable stay with Tony and Catherine. The place was amazing, great views from balcony and rooms, we saw incredible moon rise, sunset, milk-way, misty mountain…. We enjoyed our family stay at Poppa’s. The peacefulness and views were the highlight. It was nice to visit somewhere a little off the beaten path but still not too far from the centre of the Hunter. The house was large with room for all of us and was so kid friendly with an outdoor playground and games for the kids. We appreciated the extra touches such as chocolates, wine and port. While the property is a little dated we liked the rustic charm. The kids had a ball playing on the hay bails and loved looking after the chooks. We enjoyed going for a nice countryside walk to visit the cows and horses too. Overall we had a lovely stay at this property.

The property was wonderful. The verandah with it's incredible view of the valley and mountains beyond was my favourite seating spot. The kitchen set up was brilliant especially the big stove and oven. Ample space for everyone and the kids had equipment to play on, and enjoyed helping with the farm chores.

Weekend Getaway

Absolutely loved our 3 nights at Poppas Olives, the kids said it was the best holiday ever, didn't want to leave and want to go back every year. The kids were in charge of feeding the animals, we absolutely loved the friendly cows, who would moo at us for food, Barry the horse was very cheeky and the alpacas, they spit. The view was amazing, it was so peaceful, the house was well stocked and spacious enough for 2 families with 5 kids altogether. Away from the Hunter buzz, but not too far to enjoy all the Hunter has to offer.
