About this property
Peace on the Prairie Too - Tiny House, Pets Allowed, No cleaning fee.
Peace on the Prairie Too is a 570 square foot two-story Tiny House offering the peace, quiet, and tranquility that you're searching for for a relaxing time away. Whether it’s a business trip, romantic time together with your significant other, a family vacation, a girl's time away, a secluded spot to work on your music, writing, art, star gazing, or a reconnection with nature, you'll find your inspiration and renewal in this natural rural setting away from the sounds of the city.
This stand-alone house is located on a 24-acre prairie restoration with forest on two sides and agricultural fields on the other two sides. Like watching nature, star gazing, birding, butterflies, fireflies, and deer? Like peace and quiet? This is an exceptional location for those looking to get away for a while — even if just for a night. Except for the occasional car on the country road, this location offers a respite from the sounds and smells of the city and is a very good area for nature watching. There are no less than 100 bird species during the year, many dragonfly and butterfly species, several ponds, deer, rabbits, mink, coyotes, fox, at least five species of fireflies, and much more in this wildlife sanctuary. We maintain many trails for leisurely walks through the prairie and a timber area allowing you to relax and explore the native grasses, flowers, trees, wildlife and the opportunity to reconnect with nature.
The ground level floor consists of a living/dining area, full kitchen, bathroom with a full-size shower, washer and dryer, automatic dishwasher, and a queen size futon. All cooking utensils, glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., are provided. A charcoal grill is also provided for outdoor grilling. Charcoal is available for purchase or you can bring your own.
The full-size second floor is the primary area for sleeping with a king size bed and a second queen size futon. This floor also has an eclectic reading library, a working table for your laptop or tablet and a small display shelf with honey produced on the property and coffee mugs for sale. The second floor also has walk out access to the covered deck overlooking 16 acres of native prairie, timber and two ponds.
This is a two-story building that is NOT HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE. If you need a handicap accessible place to stay, try our other rental Peace on the Prairie, located on the same property

About the host
Hosted by Kevin Klein

Why they chose this property
If you the peace, quiet, look and sounds of nature, this rental is a perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This property offers four distinct seasons all of which have their own beauty for those willing to look. Prairies are vast, but much of their beauty is in the small details. This 'Tiny House' feels bigger than many tiny houses yet is only 570 square feet of living space. A carefully designed use of space makes it seem much larger. When you stay, spend some time walking the trails and experience why we named it Peace on the Prairie.
What makes this property unique
Illinois, the Prairie State. When you stay at Peace on the Prairie you can experience a small slice of what Illinois Landscape once looked like yet still have all of the conveniences of modern society. Like to fish? You're welcome to bring your fishing poles and fish the 2-acre pond for bass and bluegill. Like to walk? You can walk the trails cut into the prairie or take long walks on country roads. All of it is peaceful and beautiful.
