High View rests just four meters from the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic, in the tranquil seaside village of Racisce. Just a short, scenic drive from the famed walled city of Korcula, High View rose from a boutique hotel and night spot to become a repurposed amenity-rich getaway with its own small pebble beach, a private Jacuzzi overlooking the sea, free WiFi, a cozy fireplace, a gas grill on the balcony and a chef’s kitchen.
Electronics include Amazon Prime video, Netflix on your account, Alexa, Amazon Show, music throughout, and a full range of “Smart TV” apps to satisfy every interest.
High View is not operated by an impersonal commercial management company. Rather, it is our third home, personally operated and maintained by us, and our lifelong residents and friends, Nenad Pecotic and his son, Ivan.
We believe we’ve achieved a balance between upscale luxury and a “home away from home” feeling that our guests appreciate and enjoy, joined with our respect for the environment, our host country, its wonderful people and its culture.
No worries! Ivan will meet you at the ferry, lead you to High View, provide you with a welcome basket of a top regional wine, local cheeses, bread, fruit and other staples to enjoy. He’ll show you how to operate everything, answer all your questions, and see to your every need. And he’s only a phone call away.
A pleasant stroll on our connecting footpath brings you to the town market, three good restaurants, churches, ice cream, the village beaches and the historic harbor.
You live like a local. Yet, High View is only a scenic fifteen minute drive from the United Nations Protected World Heritage town of Korcula, reputed birthplace of Marco Polo.
A perfect day might start with coffee on the deck, with roosters in the hills crowing at first light. Then, an awesome drive into Korcula Town to see the sights. Often called, “Little Dubrovnik”, Korcula holds the finest restaurants, galleries, busy shops, museums, ancient churches and amazing touring experiences for our guests to enjoy.
Returning home, soak on the deck in our state-of-the-art spa, with the peaceful, twinkling harbor lights beyond. Relax on the deck with a good book, swim in the bay, or fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the sea, away from the hustle and bustle of Korcula town. Travelers appreciate access to both worlds: the secluded, airy, resort-style penthouse for rest and relaxation, but close to all the splendid sites and experiences the island has to offer. Visits to wonderful vineyards, caves, the nearby islands of Hvar, Mljet and Vis, secluded pebble beaches, charming seaside towns, and ancient Greek and Roman archeological sites are all just a short drive from High View. Upon booking, we send our guests valuable advice and suggestions on how best to use your time.
At High View, you don’t cross a street or highway to visit the sea. You don’t look over rooftops, through electric wires, trees or bushes or across any land at all to enjoy the sea from your balcony. Instead, you are directly on the sea, with uninterrupted views of the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic and Racisce Bay, with our small pebble beach directly below your main balcony.
By day, the harbor comes to life with fishing boats leaving with the rising sun, the stunning mountains beyond, and majestic vessels plying the Adriatic. Enjoy the ancient church bells across the bay, counting the hours, and calling all to worship. This is a lovely property with easy access to swimming and a quaint town. Feels like living with the locals as compared to other areas of the island. The apartment is comfortable and well stocked, including a generous welcome basket. The best part is swimming right off the dock in the backyard. If you want to be in the center of the action on Korcula, this is 30 minutes from there. If looking for a quiet escape with access to those places, this is perfect.

Great location - outstanding ocean view from the terrace. The owner welcomes guests with a nice grocery basket - his recommendations for restaurants are very good! Everything within the flat is convenient; the only challenge: its not possible to darken the sleeping room a way that no light gets into the room - during the summer season sun "wakes you up" latest 06:30 a.m. beside this everything is perfect

Yes, it’s all about the view!

I am not sure there are any views that surpass High View - and all ours for a week! We loved the little town and the ability to “walk down the little path” to the town for dinner. The locals were so friendly - my husband talked to a neighbor every day on his walk. Then she knocked on our door with some dried figs from the tree we had been walking by.! Fantastic place to relax.

High View surpassed our expectations!

High View surpassed our expectations in every way! From the moment we booked our stay, the owner promptly communicated what to expect for check-in, who we could contact to organize tours, and shared local restaurant, winery, and beach recommendations. All of this shared information was incredibly helpful with planning our week on the island! The condo is situated with a beautiful view of Racisce. (It was an easy 10-minute walk into the village.) The condo was immaculately clean and very well-appointed. Both bedrooms contained comfortable beds and the ensuite bathrooms had walk-in showers with great water pressure. We did not cook during our visit, but the appliances were new, and there was a grill. Because of all of the outdoor decks, our family could spread out and enjoy some downtime after a busy day touring the island. The small beach in front of the property allowed us to take a swim every day. (The water was so clear!) Our family voted this property "the best" of all the places we stayed during our two week trip to Croatia and Italy.

The BEST We've Experienced

We spent two weeks in Croatia, at three different locations/properties, and our time here was the best the four of us experienced, hands down. The property itself is incredibly comfortable, modern, clean and extremely well kept. The views are, well, spectacular and kept us sitting out on the terrace every chance we had. Regarding communication and helpfulness, the property owner and his manager were outstanding, and I don't use that term lightly. Whether we had questions on logistics, how/where to rent a vehicle, restaurants, etc., the responses were immediate and helpful. Ivan's local knowledge was invaluable, and we cannot say enough about his kindness. One note...a factor in choosing this property was that it was not in Korcula Town so that we could experience the smaller village it was in, and a more chill pace. That was absolutely the right decision for us, as it's easy enough to get to "the city" should one want to. If someone was to ask "Where is the top spot you stayed in Croatia?" we would all say here...the property, the owners, the manager -- it could not have been better. We will be back, which is the highest praise we could give.

Lovely Stay at High View

My husband and I spent a week at High View and we loved every minute of it. There’s so much to do in Croatia we couldn’t do it all in our week stay. It’s clear Mr. Stonebraker is very passionate and devoted to this location. He puts every ounce of that passion into ensuring that our needs were anticipated and often exceeded. The penthouse overlooking Racisce Bay is a beautiful modern design, elegant functional and efficient. From the espresso machine in the kitchen to the HD TVs throughout the house, we weren’t without all of our comforts from home. The extra-large hot tub on the balcony was the cherry on top. The provided robes were lovely and we especially enjoyed the adjustable bed. We appreciate being able to use the washer and dryer. We recommend stocking up on groceries at the Tommy mart in Korcula. The views on the island of Korcula are breathtaking and it’s clear that the island beckons you to get out and explore Racisce, Korcula, Vela Luka, Lombarda and beyond. We especially enjoyed the local wine tastings. The ferry system around the islands make it so easy to go island hopping while using High View as your home base. We can’t wait to come back and explore more that the islands have to offer.

The perfect setting!

From the moment I reserved this little piece of heaven, I knew it was perfect for my adventure. The pre-trip info sent by the owner was extremely helpful as there were areas I had not explored on a previous trip to Croatia. When I arrived by catamaran, the property manager/concierge was there to greet me and take me to the condo. Even though it was late evening, he stayed and went through everything in the unit and went through some great activities available in the area, as well as restaurants. He also had a great welcome basket to get me started before I got to the food market. The condo was exactly as the pictures reflected. I will mention that there are a couple of steps to each area of the place, but they do not affect the comfort of the place. The view is spectacular and the peace and quiet divine. I would definitely rebook this property when I visit the area again!

Heaven on the Adriatic

I cannot say enough amazing things about Hugh View and our stay in Racisse. I only wish we had chosen to stay longer. When you think about a true European getaway on the sea this is what you imagine. A village that is out of a movie and a home that has every modern convenience you could ask for. The photos do not do this home justice. It is truly stunning and the views and location are perfect. As soon as I booked our stay John was in touch and sent a pdf with all of his recommendations and photos. He also answered my questions along the way and was incredibly helpful. When we had booked our ferry and contacted Ivan, the concierge John uses, he was immediately helpful and arranged our rental car and then met us at the ferry. He guided us to the house and sat down with us and helped us make dinner reservations and shared his insight and answered all of our questions. He made himself available our entire stay and made a wonderful experience incredible. Racisse is truly a special place that I hope to return to. We had amazing meals on the island and loved every minute of our stay. Do yourself a favor and book this house and enjoy the figs along the roads and views everywhere throughout your stay!

Great vacation at High View Racisce Korcula

A vacation stay at High View provides a vacation of the highest quality. The apartment villa is beautifully and comfortably furnished, with reclining beds and quality couches, chairs. and tables. The kitchen is excellently equipped, not just with dishwasher and microwave, but also with a variety of coffee making devices. The view from the ample deck is extraordinary, and the Jacuzzi offers a delightful add-on. Even better, at least for our family, the swimming pier, some four flights of stairs below, is also large and excellent. Needless to say, the waters of the Adriatic are clear, accessible, and endlessly refreshing. John is an extraordinary host, and provides an excellent commentary on the attractions of the island. Any problems with the stay are immediately addressed by Peco and Ivan, the dynamic father and son team who serve any special needs that might arise during the stay. The town of Racisce is a never ending source of lovely views, walking, dining, and, always is relaxing. Around the curve of its bay lies, in one direction, the lovely beach at Vaja Bay, and in the other, the many attractions of the lovely island of Korcula. Fortunate indeed are those who are able to spend a vacation visit at High View.

Superbe sejour

Nous avons passé un séjour formidable a High View. L'appartement est très agréable, décoré avec beaucoup de goût, une cuisine équipée avec du matériel de qualité, et une Terrace très agréable. La vue est superbe, le coin est très calme et authentique, avec des plages très belles à proximité, sans compter le ponton privé en bas de l'immeuble pour se baigner dans la mer. Le jacuzzi sur la terrasse est un plus indéniable. John nous a envoyé des recommandations et des informations très utiles pour le préparation de notre séjour, et a veillé à ce que tout soit parfait pour notre arrivee, avec notamment un panier d'accueil très garni. Nous recommandons vraiment ce logement !!

True Adriatic

Just returned from a 14 day trip of the Adriatic and stayed in rascisce, korcula for 3 nights. Driving up to this house you can tell someone has researched this area and built a home. We were lucky that John and his wife are willing to share their heaven on earth with the HomeAway family. As soon as o booked the home John was in touch with me sending me information on korcula, places to see, eat, history etc. Peco, our local host, was there at the boat to help us drive to the aortnent and help settle in. A nice bottle of wine, Choclate for the kids, local olive oil and vinegar greeted us on the table. Apartment was immaculate. Views stunning, balcony views beyond description. For me this was the Adriatic I was looking for. A small sleepy town with private beaches and coves, old ladies watering their flowers , men in town playing bocci ball and having beer. I sat at the balcony and watched the stonehouses change color in the evening. At night the nearest local konoba served excellent meals. I talked to the neighbors who invited us in as they are friends with John. Jacuzzi on the balcony was a big hit after a long day of kayaking. This place is a labor of love and how most of Adriatic was before mass tourism discovered it. I am hoping that one day I can return and just stay here for a month with no itenary just leisurely walks and swims. Sid and Monica

Hidden Gem

As a frequent user of VRBO properties this location exceeded all expectations. The small town of Racisce is absolutely perfect for a vacation stay. It’s a very short drive from Korcula that alone will open your eyes to the beauty of this island. There are three restaurants, smaller convenience store, and ice cream shop all within a short walking distance from this property. If you like a remote beach a beautiful one is a short walk/drive as well. John from the start will make sure your stay starts and ends as if it was his vacation he was planning. Once you arrive from the Ferry Peco will be there to greet you. For my stay I opted to rent a car on the island. Peco stayed with me through that transaction which helped should there have been any issues etc. with the transaction. Peco then will have you follow him to the property ensuring you know your way around this small town. Once you arrive at the property he will walk you through appliance usage, keys, parking location, internet setup, etc. The property has everything you need to make you stay complete. Extremely clean, views of the Adriatic sea and the small town of Racisce, an outdoor patio area outfitted with a hot tub where you can see incredible sunrise views or the amazing stars at night. If you’re looking for a location where you feel you stepped back in time, a property that is immaculate, an owner who cares about your stay being exceptional, then this is the place for you. I look forward to returning and sharing this location with members of my family.

Amazing place!

Our family of five had ten lovely days at High View. The place and apartment were both amazing and met all possible expectations. Racisce is such a beautiful quiet place on Korcula. We especially appreciated the little walk into the town every morning to buy freshly baked bread, the beautiful Vaja Beach short in distance from the apartment, the lovely private dock and bathing area by High View and the nice evenings on the amazing balcony. The apartment has all equipment and facilities you could possible need, and we enjoyed everything being new and of high quality. We really appreciated the nice dialogue and all the useful information we received from the owner John before arriving, and the local contact person, Peco, was very helpful and always available if there was anything we needed. Thank you for a lovely stay at High View!

Crime is very low. English is required from the fourth grade all the way through high school. If you lose your purse or billfold, it will still be there when you remember where you left it.
