A great place to stay if looking for a relaxing time in the woods to be with family. Communication with the owner was excellent and readily available if needed but, things were perfect and didn’t need assistance throughout our stay . The house was clean, charming, and inviting. Could not have asked for a more beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and look forward to making this our go to place when visiting my family in Oregon!! I highly recommend this place.
We loved our stay at the cabin! Perfect for two people. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook our meals and we loved the easy to understand television/remotes.
We loved this property. It was absolutely beautiful and quiet. The beds were comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. I never noticed the tenant that lived downstairs. Chris stopped by one day and let us know he was on the property and was just so nice. We have family in Kalama and I think I found our new place to stay when coming to Portland.
Very quiet and secluded which was perfect for our needs. Was clean and ready upon our arrival, which was perfect after a long train ride. The only thing was property description said the couches were futon but they were extremely comfortable couches so it wasn't an issue. We enjoyed our stay very much.
This was an absolutely unbelievable rental! If you want seclusion and privacy with comfort and beauty, stay here! Excellent! We actually had to arrive much later than planned due to a flat tire. Our host, Chris, made sure to have lights on for us, even. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Although, I need to apologize because I forgot to start the dishwasher. I would stay in a place like this many times over! Five stars! Excellent!
I've been looking for a place to rent with my family for our trip and I'm glad I came across this place. My whole family loved the view and taking walks in the forest pathways near the cabin. The cabin provided beds which we comfortably slept in and a kitchen which helped us make meals. At night we even lit the campfire to tell stories and roast marshmallows. Overall the place is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone searching for a welcoming cabin.
I rented this place for my elderly dogs so they wouldn't have to suffer from all the stress of fireworks. This place was wonderful, and quiet, lots of Elk to watch, birds to listen to, great place to hang out.
If this was a retreat to the woods with no internet or tv and no need to leave home every day it would have been perfect. As a place to stay while driving 30+ min to work at a temporary job with your family at home trying to entertain themselves, it failed. No fault of the owner. But if you have people that can't live without Fortnite and Crime TV then leave them at home!
I love the woods, watching the chickens, and strolling the property (should've brought mud boots). If there wasn't a family downstairs whose noises distract from the tranquility it would have been better. My dog isn't good with ignoring unknown sounds. Again, no fault of the owner as it was mentioned in the listing.
Could have been a bit cleaner (dusty) and the beds aren't very comfortable, but it was a suitable stay for people who are easy-going and don't expect five-star luxury when you don't pay for it. 7/10 might stay again.
Our stay here was bliss. We didn't want to leave! We look forward to returning for more quiet, peaceful, beautiful relaxation.
Chris had everything we could have needed already in the house. Once we got the heaters on we were comfortable and cozy.
Chris, the owner, was very accommodating. There is a family living in the bottom half of the house, but we had no problem with that. The children who were our visitors one day enjoyed the chickens and walking through the forest, and we all loved the barbeque on the unique patio.
Overall had a great experience. Owner was very accommodating and the home was well furnished (almost too nice for our family!). Didn’t find out that the laundry was in the garage until later. Cell reception is limited, but that’s not always a bad thing and there is wireless. If you want to feel like you’re away from it all, while enjoying a nice stay at the level of a 4 star hotel, this is the place for you!
Very nice area to relax. Owner was very helpful. Beautiful house with plenty of amenities.

fishing trip
the original posting said 11.2 miles from Woodland Center, when I called the owner he said he was unaware of that but it is 11.2 as the crow flies, good to see that message has been taken down, would never have booked something that was 40 minutes away for where we were fishing
We had a great time while staying here. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The covered deck with heater was very nice for relaxing in the evenings.
House was very cold upon arrival. Only four pieces of firewood for the fireplace. The wall heaters took several hours to warm the house to the point that we could take off our winter jackets inside
