About this property

Lundur and Klettur are the perfect base for your Icelandic holiday. Have a memorable day at Snæfellsnes National Park with a snow scooter trip on top of the amazing Snæfellsjökull glacier, a visit to a natural hot spring like Deildartunguhver, or amazing waterfall like Hraunfossar. Other interesting places to visit are, the active volcano Grábrók, the crater Eldborg, historical viking landmark Reykholt, and taking a walk into the glacier Langjökull. You can stroll through the nearby cozy town of Borgarnes and drop by the cafe’s, museums, shops and restaurants. Take a drive to the capital Reykjavík with all its glory, nightlife and culture. Make a day trip on the Golden Circle and see the exploding Geysir with all its natural power, and drop by the historic Thingvellir National Park, and view close up the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall. In the evenings you will always come back home to these cozy cottages, Lundur and Klettur, and the first thing you might do is, relax in the hot tub with a glass of red wine and enjoy the Northern Lights in the peace and quietness after a memorable day.

The cottages were built in a traditional, Icelandic summerhouse way. They are well constructed and insulated. It's warm and cosy all year around with all necessities and comfort. Both houses have an open kitchen-living room area. In both kitchens are all table ware and equipment you need for cooking, baking and serving a lovely meal. The living room in both houses, has a great corner sofa, a large flat screen TV with many channels. The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable with great quality beds. Free WIFI.

Both houses have a large patio with a nice hot tub, barbecue grill and comfortable outdoor seating. Perfect for making a good meal and relaxing in the peaceful environment. Beside the houses are grass lawns which are surrounded by a birch forest, ideal for kids to play.

Excellent spot for large groups

We had a total of 12 people in our group and this property setup was perfect. People ages 8 months to 65 years. Location was great for exploring Snaefellness but not too far away from Reykjavik to discourage golden circle activities. Road is pretty easy to find, don’t need 4x4 but take it slow. Need cell phone access for getting to the property. We got to see northern lights while there so that was nice. Absolutely recommend staying here

Perfect location

Quite and scenic. From here we explored the west side of the island. We enjoyed the pool and hit spa in Borgarnes.

I am a teacher and I have a BA degree in Icelandic literature. My husband Robert works as a pilot in Europe and has a BS degree in business administration. We have three Amazing boys.

This house is what we have been searching for the purpose of total relaxation and the house has everything a home needs. We love staying there, both in the summer and winter time. We offer others to stay in our house and enjoy all it has to offer.

For us, this place is heaven on earth. It is cozy and comfortable and it is so easy to relax there. We are happy to offer others to enjoy it.

What makes this property unique

Peacefulness - You can sit outside on the terrace or walk around the house and enjoy the nature and the amazing mountain view in the peaceful surroundings.

Location - The location of the house is ideal for exploring the west side of Iceland. There are short driving distances to many beautiful places in the nature such as waterfalls and craters. Museums and historical places are also nearby. There is only a 10 minutes drive to the nearest town, Borgarnes, where you can find for example a swimming pool, golf course, shops, bakery, restaurants, library and health care.
