About Sarah Lowe
We've lived in Eugene for the past twenty-seven years. We currently live on the upper floor of the house where we raised our two children (now 29 and 33). The rental property is on the bottom floor of the house and easily accesses the patio and garden.
Sarah Lowe purchased this House in 1991
Why Sarah Lowe chose Fairmont
We fell in love with this house (which was built in 1939) the first time we saw it. Nobody was living in it at the time and the yard was overgrown with tall grass and thistles, but the charm and beautiful design, shone through. Before we bought the property the lower part of the house (which contains the rental) was a place where the previous owners kept their boat (hence the high ceilings). Later we remodeled it and used it as a master bedroom. Recently it has become a VRBO rental!
What makes this House unique
We've enjoyed being able to grow vegetables and fruit on our property's one half acre and we've appreciated our property's easy access to lovely Hendricks Park, the Willamette River, schools, restaurants, museums and stores. Being able to walk or ride our bikes downtown (three miles) is a great benefit to our home's location.

We loved staying here. The space is full of interesting details and art. I never saw a bedroom with a prettier view of green lushness. Amenities were very thoughtful and generous as were the hosts. Would love to come here again.
It was so nice to meet you both! Im glad you enjoyed the talk you attended. Hope to see you again sometime. Thanks!
Quiet wonderful space to sleep, with a sunset view
Stayed 2 nights on a long westward excursion on our way through town.
House is located in an extremely safe and quiet neighborhood, the hosts accommodated us in all respects, your area of the home is very private, with lots of windows and a great patio to hang out on. There is a small grouping of restaurants at the bottom of the hill from the house, they are all top notch
Thanks so much John. Please visit again.
Nice and quiet
Just the right size for staying by yourself when you have an occasional class on campus!
So glad it worked well for you!
Sarah and David were very friendly hosts, and she met us on arrival. She was great to communicate with and met our special requests to a “T”. Our 2 night stay was most pleasant. The location was great for the conference we attended at the university. A beautiful, quiet and relaxed setting in a very nice neighborhood. I would highly recommend, if able bodied, as it does have a steep drive way and a gravel slope pathway down to your quarters.
Close to some great food at Beppe & Gianni’s Trattoria!
Thanks- I'm glad our place worked for you. We enjoyed meeting you and your daughter.
Heaven perched on a hillside like an Italian villa
Love the property with open plan and big window in bedroom, every amenity necessary- love the galley feel in kitchen! Also love the outside garden space.
I'm so glad you enjoyed our place! We're enjoying the book of Walks in Eugene and Springfield!
The property was lovely, the owners were very accommodating. Very clean and nice.
Thanks so much!
Outside our front door is easy walking access to the University of Oregon (Hayward Field and Autzen Stadium), eighty acre Hendricks Park (with its walking trails, Rhododendron Garden and forest) Pre's Rock, the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon, University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History, the Laurelwood Golf Course, Restaurants and markets.
The Willamette River is two miles from our house and we often walk or ride our bikes down the river path to downtown Eugene with its many restaurants, cafes, shops and entertainment venues such as the Hult Center and The Shedd. The Saturday Market (the oldest open air crafts market in the U.S.) is held every Saturday downtown from April through mid-November.
