A recently renovated recreational paradise on the water in the Adirondacks with 6 bedrooms and 4 baths. The "Adirondack Stags Leap" vacation home was built as a large single-family summer home in the 1930's in the historic Adirondack "Camp" style, with major renovations in 2016-2019. It was designed by a well-known Adirondack architect on a double lot that includes a wooded area, private tennis court, volleyball courts (sand & grass), large yard, fire pit, boathouse with dock and wide waterfront. This camp offers incredible recreation and living space for multiple families, couples, friends, or extended families alike. It is ideal for a revitalizing spring, a fun-filled summer and an adventurous autumn and the famous Adirondack color-changing leaves. We have magnificent trees on sight and the fall view of the hillside across the Channel is a must-see.
The Camp includes a comfortable lodge-style living room with fireplace and wide screen TV with cable with a selection of movie channels, a brand new large kitchen with island seating 6, and a dining area with antique table seating at least 8-10. The kitchen opens up to a large deck (one of two decks) with picnic tables and barbecue nearby and traditional Adirondack chairs. Three of the 6 bedrooms offer king-size beds (linens provided) with private or semi-private bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms offer 2 twin beds each, one of which is on the first floor with easy access. an en-suite bathroom and TV. The sixth bedroom is a bunk room with two bunk beds; both beds are full-size on bottom and regular-twin on top. The home is fully heated with dual modern furnaces, if needed.
Outdoor living features a large screened-in porch with seating and a table, a sitting deck, the previously mentioned enormous off-kitchen deck, patio area and a large front lawn, providing ample space to read a book, hold great conversations, or just watch and wave as the boats go by on the channel. The property covers approximately 2.5 acres and includes rustic woods, private tennis & picketball court with basketball hoop, sand volleyball court, grass volleyball/badminton area (or bocce lawn), fire pit, patio sitting areas, waterfront dock, and a boat house with an open slip. We do not provide watercraft, but you are welcome to bring your own or rent from many local businesses - from paddle boats and kayaks to speed boats, and most things in between.
An attached laundry (accessible off the kitchen stoop) includes 2 washers/dryers for ample laundry capacity. The garage, accessed by ramp from the laundry, has a ping pong table, tennis gear, and badminton rackets. A few balls are also available for the basketball hoop, volleyball court and kicking around.

We were so in love with the variety of sports to play on‐site, from volleyball to badminton to pickleball!! There was so much wildlife to see, and so many beautiful trees ans plantsalong the lake.
Everything we needed was there. Nice bedrooms, several bathrooms, boat dock, everything we needed for cooking, fire pit, volleyball. A great stay for adult family members. We enjoyed the area.
Loved our long weekend here. So much To do together. Great family meals, games and just hanging out. Played a little mini golf and shopping too. Perfect place for families to connect!
Our family did not lack for anything to do. This location is a fantastic place to come together. We were busy playing table tennis, pickle ball and lots of fishing for the kids. We loved it and want to return!!
The house was great. Good size, comfy, great location and outdoor spaces. Unfortunately, we didn't have great weather during our stay but everyone still found something to do. Plenty of games to play as well.

Wonderful
Great getaway for multiple family stay. Only downfall was comfort of the beds . Some people slept on couches due to hardness of beds. But everything else was awesome. Kids were never bored. Adults used tennis courts more than the kids. We saw a bear on a walk the very first morning we were there. Just a great place to vacation

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to make good use of the tennis court. Please feel free to email me regarding the bed comfort details. We make upgrades continuously and certainly want to address the specific culprits.

nice kitchen
"rustic" is what to picture in your mind so you are not disappointed by the less than clean furniture if you have to spend a lot of time inside the house. The kitchen is nice and the outdoor space is great. (except maybe for the rule to put out your fire by 10) the tap water had an issue, so the owners made sure there was ample supply of bottled water.
We had an amazing stay here with a group of 11 friends! The house was absolutely perfect for a large group and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked, and we especially loved having two refrigerators, a huge kitchen island for gathering, and a large table that was perfect for meals and game nights. The living room was cozy and comfortable, and the outdoor space was just as wonderful. We enjoyed the fire pit (with wood provided), beautiful sunset views, and seeing wildlife around the property. Being so close to the water made the location even better. This was our first stay here, and we were so impressed by all of the amenities and how well the space accommodated our group. We were talking about coming back before our trip was even over and are already hoping to return next year. Highly recommend!
This is a repeat stay at Stags Leap. It is the quintessential adirondacks lodge with a fully updated kitchen that is great for gatherings. Close to town yet private, this property provides entertainment and relaxation options that made our stay wonderful.
We truly enjoyed the property: Accommodations for our boats, plenty of room for all to enjoy and many activities on property. We are eager to book again.
What an amazing ADK lodge. Plenty of room for larger groups and the property had something for everyone - water, sports, and plenty of room for r&r! Great communication from the owner and clear expectations. We will definitely be staying here again.
We enjoyed a very relaxing weekend with family and friends at Stags Leap. The property was perfect so we could gather and create wonderful memories and spend precious time together.
Our week’s stay at Stags Leap was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Our group (2 grandparents, 4 parents & 5 children) had everything we could hopefully want at this beautiful property. The house offered ample room for us to spread out, and the kitchen facilities were excellent. The grounds & waterfront were outstanding! The tennis/pickleball court surface was brand new, and the sand volleyball and badminton areas were enjoyed by both adults & kids. The waterfront area was a hit with everyone for both fishing and swimming. We could not have asked for a better location to enjoy our family reunion. We are looking forward to returning next year to continue the good times. Thank you Liz & Brian for such a great home, and for all you did to make it so special.
The house was perfect! Plenty of inside and outside spaces to accommodate all ages. The sand volleyball court was especially helpful with young grandchildren. The dock made it so easy to launch our kayaks, and was a beautiful spot to rest by the water any time of day. Very well equipped and comfortable. We had a fabulous family celebration!
Had a blast. Excellent location and fun amenities. Kitchen remodel is wonderful and served as the central location for fun. We will be renting again next year. (Same group, different point of contact)
We had an amazing stay at Stag's Leap over LDW with family and friends. We played countless games of volleyball on the sand volleyball court. Enjoyed morning kayak rides and nightly bonfires. The kitchen was amazing and comes will all the necessary tools to make gourmet meals. The home is large enough to have your own space even when vacationing with a larger group. The owners are incredibly kind and easy to communicate with. We can't wait for our next family vacation at Stag's Leap!
Just can’t say enough about this house. Perfect for active family. Went hiking, skiing, wake boarding, played tennis, volleyball and even had a pickle ball tournament. Baby played in sand. Perfect weather!
House is exactly as pictured. Beautiful. We are a brother and two sisters and our children and grandchildren. This house fit all our needs. Kitchen was gorgeous and very very functional. Location was perfect. We enjoyed sitting by the water and watching all the boats go by. Everyone had a super time. Very close to town and shops. We definitely would stay again.
The owner was very responsive and made sure we were well taken care of. The property was spacious and had a great view of the lake. The kitchen was exceptionally nice!

About the host
Hosted by Liz O'Keefe
We are pleased to introduce ourselves - Brian and Liz O'Keefe. Although originally from Syracuse and Northern New York - and proud Clarkson University graduates - we raised our family in Tucson, Arizona. We still made it a point to visit the fabulous Adirondack lakes in the summer and our daughter is now a graduate of St John Fisher in Rochester. As we move toward retirement, we spend more and more time in the Adirondacks. Our local housekeeper, Maggie, and caretaker, John, long time Old Forge residents, provide nearby assistance and make it all possible.
Why they chose this property
We purchased this property to share family visits and for our children to enjoy the incredible Adirondack summers we experienced as kids. The contrast to our home in the Southwest Desert is breathtaking, with the lush greens, cool summer nights, and fabulous water sports. A visit to the Enchanted Forest Water Safari waterpark, located a few miles away, is often a highlight. We also enjoy the watercolor exhibit each summer at the View art gallery, and the many classes offered, from basket weaving, to pottery, to yoga. And nearby Old Forge is a wonderful active community, with fun shopping adventures and the many events scheduled on the weekends throughout all seasons.
What makes this property unique
A stay at Stags Leap is our perfect unwind, whether participating in the on-site sports, lying in the hammock, or holding a fishing rod watching the boats go by. Although the house may be filled to capacity, there is always a special place for conversations in the Adirondack chairs located about the sitting areas. Many days begin with a slow moving mist on the Channel which burns off as the sun rises. Sunny and shady sitting areas can be found throughout the day, and the evening sunset to the west - straight down the channel in late summer - is awesome from the dock and patio. Even on rainy days, the screened porch and large lodge-style living room allow for fun weather watching, puzzles, family games and movies by the cozy fireplace.
