This property is perfect for a small family. The owners are prompt about answering questions. The toilet stopped up while we were there they came within 15 mins. of letting them know the problem. Although, the neighborhood looks a bit iffy it was quiet and beautiful property.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Missing a few things
The good: The house was very comfortable and nicely decorated. It is in an older neighborhood but the setting has great large trees in the yard and woods right across the street from the DECK. You can watch squirrels play and listen to many different bird songs from the DECK. The not so good: The host refused to acknowledge there was a deck, thus no need for chairs on the deck and stated for, for whatever reason, that a deck is not listed on Amenities and, thus, "there is no outdoor dining area". The house has a very nice deck, about 12' by 15' and it faces the woods across the street and is well pictured in the listing. He stated "this is a very small house with a very small porch and his solution offered to me, in two different text conversations, was that he could move us to one of his much more expensive properties, as in $400/night, properties with "outdoor patio set ups. If you view many properties on VRBO as I have you are unlikely to find any listings with patios and decks that don't have outdoor seating. Also, if you have a group of any size there are lots of plates but only four glasses, three coffee mugs, and one plastic wine glass.
The neighborhood seemed to be lower middle class. When we arrived, the washing machine contained dirty linens/cleaning rags. When I informed the owner he did not seem to be concerned about that so he and I decided that I would put the dirty clothes in bags and place them on the back porch to be picked up which they never were so I eventually brought them back inside. When I used the laundry facilities towards the end of our week, I realized the dryer was also filled with linens and cleaning rags that had been dried but never removed so I placed these on the bottom bunk bed in that bedroom (the other two bedrooms were made up but these beds were not). Communication was OK but not stellar. We had an enjoyable time exploring TR and Greenville but could have done without the laundry surprises. We stayed in the king room and that bed was comfortable. There was not a stopper for the tub (I am a bath person) so I used a rolled up footie to serve this purpose. There is not a dishwasher so everything needs to be handwashed which is a bit questionable in these days of COVID.
This property is nicely appointed and clean. It is very convenient to all the happenings in Traveller's Rest and just a quick step to Furman University. Although it has only one bathroom, its convenience and space is superior to getting a couple of hotel rooms!
