SKY Luxurious Tranquility on a Private Beach In A Protected Marine Environment

Thanks for your review and all the best for the new year. We agree about the views - the skyscapes change every day and are so beautiful, and when the waves crash on the reef, it is quite stunning.

We are not sure what bugs you are referring to - being a countryside environment as well as ocean frontage, we are bound to hsver a few flying friends, generally around sunset and generally not for too long. Yes, the beach is a perch-beach with sand thrown up by wave action over broken coral. A major storm lifted some of it higher up the beach, almost burying a small retainer wall. Over time, Mother Nature will move some sand back down and will throw more sand up from the bottom of the bay. But being a marine-protection zone, we cannot force such actions. No heavy equipment is permitted on the beach. This is why our guests bring wading shoes. This is also wise if snorkelling in the bay without fins - which many guests do - the natural environment of the bay means that you can find sea anenomes and other creatures which are not a good contact for bare feet. Thanks for your comments - we are releasing a number of baby turtles this evening - sorry that you were not able to see them. They are down in the games room snoozing until dark. We like to think that Crescent Beach is a home for both our guests and all of our wildlife and that some of our turtle mums will make it home to nest some years down the line. Thank you for your comments. Yes - Crescent Beach is home away from home. And yes, wading shoes are a necessity to enter the bay until we get the dock built later this year. Being a protected marine environment, we cannot remove the broken coral which is at the water's edge. Of course, we can create a pathway through it but within a couple of days, wave-action will quickly roll them around. The good thing is that the live coral and the sea life are wonderful to view while snorkeling.

Thank you for your comments, and especially the one about trust. We had a situation which we queried with Google. A "browser" rated Crescent Beach 4-stars - thanks, but why? The browser had never stayed at Crescent Beach. Google's comment was that the browser was rating the website. Google has no ability to isolate that on the Google system. So, what nonsense from Google. VRBO's ratings come from people who were guests. And even though we have never had a rating less that 5-stars, the ratings help us learn what we are doing right and how we can still improve - because the ratings come from guests. Thank you - yes, tranquil and quiet - the east end of Grand Cayman. The baby turtle releases are always special. We like to think that a few of them will be back as mothers to nest on the beach in 20 years time. We hope to see you back sooner.

We are sorry that DB had a trip to Health City - interrupting his vacation - but we are so happy that you found them to be so close by (a few hundred yards) so helpful and at reasonable cost. The turtle nest is showing signs of hatching tonight or tomorrow night and so we will be on the beach keeping an eye out for the little ones and making sure that they get to Half Moon Bay.
