Halibut Hideaway on the water

Halibut Hideaway on the water has spectacular mountain views of Mt. St. Elias and Monti Bay. You are only a few steps from fishing for Salmon and Halibut. Take a 30-45 minute boat ride and you can view Hubbard Glacier or head out the road to view moose and brown bear. Yakutat offers world class steelhead, salmon and halibut fishing as well as exceptional duck, sandhill crane, moose and brown bear hunting. Yakutat is an outdoorsman utopia. The property is divided into two units. Upstairs is the owners and downstairs is rented out to guests, separated by a locking sliding door.

The house was very nice overall! I would have given 5 stars across the board; however, the BBQ grill was very dirty and unusable, and there was no dish soap provided. I also initially thought I was renting the entire house, but it’s actually a very nice downstairs apartment. I would definitely stay there again it truly is beautiful but i wanted to give my honest opinion

What a nice home! The location can't be beat; right on the water & there is a fish cleaning station, a couple large freezers for storing your catch and a vacuum sealer (just bring your own bags). Yakutat is small, so everything is kind of close to everything, but I did also appreciate how close the house is to the harbor. Our host, Adam, was extremely responsive when we had questions and very flexible when we ran into an issue with weather & a canceled flight in Juneau which caused us to miss the first day of our reservation at the Halibut Hideaway. Only one small snag is that we didn't know what to do with our fish carcasses after fileting them, but that's an easy fix for the host to notify people who haven't been to Yakutat before prior to their stay or post a sign in the garage. No biggie at all! Would recommend this home. You won't be disappointed!

Great property right on the water!

My husband, kids and I really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, beautiful, and well equipped. The views from the kitchen and living área are excellent! Proximity to harbor, hiking, children’s playground, and a breakfast spot was perfect. My husband caught a nice halibut right out front and we ate it for dinner; what a treat.
