Cute Miners Cottage Close to Town

Elsie's Cottage is an original 1860 miners cottage which has been sympathetically renovated to retain it's original features. It's set on a large block with plenty of room for kids and pets. Main Street is at the end of the road an easy 10 minute stroll.

There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other has two single beds. There is also a very comfortable queen size sofa bed. All linen and towels provided.

For your comfort there is a split system air con and a gorgeous wood heater. Washing machine, dryer, BBQ, high chair and porta cot are all supplied.

Kitchen has a gas cook top, electric wall oven, microwave and a family size fridge.

There's a cubby house and a swing set to help keep the kids occupied.

Per couple $140.00.

Extra guests $25.00 per night.

Children (over 5 years) $25.00 per night.

Amazing place to stay with our family. The backyard with the cubby house, swingset and trampoline were an absolute hit. The fireplace was lovely on the cold nights and kept us all toasty and warm. The house had everything that we needed and was nice and close to town.

This cottage is wonderful

We stayed here last year and again recently. Its clean, quiet and its great for dogs, the property is secure and well maintained. Inside is charming and welcoming, its clean with plenty of pretty much everything that is required. Good coffee at all the coffee stops in Maldon.

Short break from busy Melbourne life

The property was super clean, the bed very comfortable (and I am picky) and with the colder weather the open fire was fantastic. Great for the dog with a good secured yard. Walking into town is good, around 10-15 mins and we enjoyed talking to the locals at the pub and and the bakery. The positive reviews stack up.

The cottage felt old world yet wonderfully bright and clean. It had everything that you need for a long weekend like we had, or a an extended stay. We had our two border collies with us who enjoyed the ample backyard. Lots to do around the area and many walking tracks near by. We will be back.

Perfect getaway

The cottage is immaculately presented and no detail has been forgotten. It is without doubt the nicest location and accomodation we have ever stayed at. It is small enough to feel cozy and comfortable while offering enough space for a small family. The little personal touches really made a difference and an added bonus that we could take our little dog. Overall a wonderful stay with such friendly and helpful managers. Looking forward to going back again one day soon.

Comfortable and very Dog friendly

We were up for the Maldon Twilight Dinner. It was a fantastic evening and highly recommend. A clean, comfortable cottage. My biggest requirement was a fully fenced area for my Jack Russell. The backyard was totally fenced. I just blocked off a small entrance behind the shed to save Pixie from getting stuck. Hosts were happy to have Pixie inside and on the couch. I always travel with a throw to protect furniture but it was lovely to know we had that freedom.

Cosy and classy with charm and character. Little beauty.

Property was excellent in all areas that mattered to us as seniors. Clean comfort facilities and appliances accessible and access to management when necessary. The township and people were lovely, freely sharing information and knowledge. Weather on this occasion was perfect. Our only criticism is really one for council and authorities to improve. We found general road signage to be less than satisfactory when trying to follow maps and attractions brochures. Attractions need a lot more follow up signs from initial start points. Many street names are missing. In our opinion for Maldon to become a traveler preferred destination maps and signs require significant work. As we do not feel we are stupid, we must attribute difficulty with navigation in and around Maldon an important issue to be addressed. Overall our experience was positive but it could have been better. Laurie

Lovely cottage ambiance, great set up out the back for dogs and plenty of room inside for them as well. Jean, the host, was very thoughtful and kind when I had a glitch with the payment system and gave me time to return home and use a different card. Her responses to all queries was rapid. House perfectly situated for walks around town, bike rides on rail trail and hikes up mountains.

We have stayed at this property before, and its always so quiet and private. Friendly locals who love a chat, great coffee, a yummy bakery and lots of lovely drives and walks.The property is spacious,well maintained and is great for dogs.Will go back again.
