The Gondola Square only a four minute shuttle ride away (1.5 miles).
The 2 bedroom suite sleeps 6 guests with a king size bed in the master bedroom, a queen-size bed in the guest bedroom, and a queen-sleeper sofa in the living room. This unit features 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen (refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, blender, microwave, cookware and tableware for 6), a dining area, WiFi Internet, a phone, a television with cable, a DVD player, and lockers to store your ski and hiking equipment. During ski season, the resort offers a shuttle service to Gondola Square and FREE village bus stops out resort every ten minutes.
After a long day on the slopes, we loved warming up in the resorts sauna and two indoor hot tubs with a different temperature settings located next to a back door that leads to a plenty of snow to jump into.
You need to have a major credit card to check in, but nothing will be charged to it unless you make long distance calls or charge something to your room.
Steamboat Springs is a lovely and beautiful city. The town center is filled with shops, restaurants, bars, live music and located one mile away from the resort. The parking in downtown area is free of charge.
The week you would be purchasing is especially incredible due to the New Year festivities such as the New Year's Eve Torchlight Parades & Fireworks Display at the resort mountain. The Steamboat Ski & Snowboard School treats tourists and locals to spectacular on-snow parade down the mountain, lit only by torches. In conjunction with the torchlight parades, a fireworks display will illuminate the sky providing a perfect ending to the evening. This event is free and open to the public; the best viewing is in Gondola Square. The parade begins at 7:00pm.
Whether you are looking for fast food, a pub, a steak house or to cook your own meal, you'll easily be able to find whatever you're craving. Restaurants of all kinds surround the resort and Safeway Super Market is directly across the street. The famous Steak Sea Food Prime Rib Ore House at the Pine Grove restaurant locates next to the resort (I highly recommend to dine there).
On New Years Eve you can take advantage of many package offered by the local restaurants and attractions. The resort is located in the heart of Steamboat Springs. The Gondola Square only a four minute shuttle ride away (1.5 miles). (Click here for directions)
The shuttle is both free and runs every twenty minutes. There is also a free public bus stop directly in front of the resort. If you want to drive to the Gondola Square a free parking is available in the Knoll Lot, which is within walking distance and the Meadows Lot, where shuttles provide transportation to Gondola Square.
General information about Steamboat Springs:
Although known as Ski Town USA, Steamboat Springs has more to offer visitors than just skiing: acres of snowmobiling land, a vast non-motorized trail system, dog sledding, sleigh rides and more.
Winter in Steamboat Springs offers more activities than visitors or locals have time to fully appreciate. With all the snow that falls in the area, people have to make a hard decision between having fun one way or another. There's really no wrong choice during Steamboat Springs ski vacations.
SkiingWhether your favorite mode of sliding on snow is a pair of skis, telemarks, snowboards, or cross-country skis, Steamboat will not disappoint. Take your pick between cruising groomed trails, hitting the moguls, flying through the terrain parks, or hiking in for some backcountry powder. It's all fun.
Snowmobiling The national forests and ranches around Steamboat Springs have the entire range of terrain for snowmobilers. Go out for an easy dinner snowmobile tour or push yourself to conquer the technical terrain of the forests and mountains.
Dog Sledding Learn about this beautiful sport while cruising through the trails surrounding Steamboat. The dogs and guides are happy to accompany you on a ride in the quiet pines, stopping to appreciate the beautiful animals, calm of nature, and white landscape all around.
Sleigh Rides A little romance never hurt any couple, and a nighttime sleigh ride is the perfect opportunity. The moon and stars provide the light for a dinner tour, making for a delightful and relaxing evening. Afternoon outings for families and groups are also popular.
Snow Tubing With a few different options of snow tubing in the area, there's almost no excuse for missing it. Most locations take the tube and rider back to the top of the tubing hill, meaning that the only work to be done is the fun part.
Snowshoeing When you're in country that receives as much snowfall as Steamboat, one may think that getting around in knee-deep powder is a problem, but that's simply not true. Snowshoes keep you floating in the snow, making hiking and exploring the rich backcountry a true pleasure in the throes of Steamboat Springs winter.
Ice Skating A thin blade of steel is all that keeps you above the ice, but it's a blessing. The feelings of gliding over the hard surface are the building blocks of memories for years to come. Make sure to take a camera to capture all the moments, both hilarious and sweet.
Steamboat Resort Rising to the summit of Mt. Werner at 10,568 feet, Steamboat Resort packs a wallop from top to bottom. The 165 trails, in addition to the glades and terrain parks, make the mountain itself as attractive as the base, complete with shops, restaurants and aprés-ski cafes to keep your mind off the aching legs.
