The check in process was super easy as Randy was a very communicative host. The unit was clean and had everything we needed, and the chocolates were a nice touch. The location is probably perfect during peak beach times. The only minor complaint would be the ice maker/fridge is on the loud side and at night, it almost sounds as if someone is pounding on the door when you’re a little groggy.

The studio was very clean, with everything my husband and I needed. Location was ideal, with the beach and boardwalk footsteps away. We enjoyed the vineyard chairs looking out over the beach. Although the weather was not cooperative, we made the most of our stay. Our hosts were very helpful and easy to contact. I highly recommend!

Overall, the property wins in location. You are very very close to the beach which makes going to, planning, and adjusting easy such as snacks, bathroom, breaks, etc, which then translates to close to good places to eat and the boardwalk. However, the property is old and a little run down, the room, which is probably true anywhere on the beach, has a mildew smell. Problem is the forever lights and the black out curtains not coming all the way down, making for even decent dark sleep very hard and is often a deal breaker.

Oceanfront Property NOT Oceanfront Studio

The website said Oceanfront Studio. By the pictures, I assumed that the studio was facing the ocean by the lawn with the tables and chairs. In that picture you see doors to studios. The real location of the studio faces the neighoring hotel and is right by the gate from the swimming pool area. The studio was very clean and well equipped as described. The access to the 3 mile boardwalk and the bicycles was great, but we never expected to be hearing Supersonic jets throughout the day until almost 11:00 at night. Because of the disappointment in the room location and the constant flight noise, we left after 2 nights of our 4 night vacation.

Checking in was a breeze, and the hosts had the room prepped early, had bikes for us to use, made ice, and left chocolate for us. They even allowed us to reschedule our original rental immediately after we asked. Will definitely stay again!

The studio apartment was perfect for the 2 of us. The owners were terrific to communicate with. Everything was within walking or cycling distance (which bikes were included with the apartment). Or if you preferred, a trolley was available with cheap prices. The ocean was right there. I would highly recommend for your stay at Virginia Beach.

Clean and a perfect location!

This studio was exactly as described. It was clean, smelled fresh, and had all the basic amenities. Just steps from the ocean (felt like a private beach) and very close to the well kept pool. The location was ideal…a little more on the private section of the boardwalk but very, very reachable to the hustle and bustle of a tourist dream. We went to some recommended restaurants and were very much in agreement with the quality. Highly recommend this one!

We have been searching for the best way to take a beach vacation and THIS was it! Located at the north end of boardwalk, it was quiet and out of the way but still walking (or bicycling-included!)distance from resturants and other attractions. The space was small, as advertised and expected, but plenty of room for our needs. Everything was clean, fresh linens, and homey touches. The kitchen has a nearly full size fridge. The stove/oven were on the small side, but it was so helpful to be able fix our own breakfasts, lunches, and even dinner a night or two. The kids were pleased with the TV options! The pool was clean and fun with nice seating for us parents. THE BEACH!...is just feet away. My husband very much enjoyed his morning coffee and the sunrise each day. The beach was not crowded and there were folding chairs for us to use (that will save us packing room next time) Host was there to fix AC on another unit after our neighbors checked out...very prompt to fix the issue, friendly to chat with, but also gave us space too. Over-all this was the best beach vacation our family has had. Would LOVE to stay here again!

We live here in Virginia Beach and love coming to the oceanfront. We have walked by this property many times while taking our kids to play volleyball on the beach, as well as biking in from the north end. The property always caught our eye because of how cozy it looked. There always seemed to be a lot of fun going on. So, when the opportunity to buy a unit here we knew this was a great fit for us. We have been in the hospitality business for over 34 years. We would love to help others enjoy this paradise we have been so fortunate to experience.

Why they chose this property

Our property is located at 40th and Atlantic Ave. It is located directly on the beach at the end of the boardwalk. This is considered by most to be the quiet end of the boardwalk. There are only 42 units in our condominium complex. There is a mix of unit owners and short term guests. There are plenty of restaurants and stores within walking or biking distance. We have a nice size outdoor pool and a large pool deck with chairs for laying out or sitting at the tables. Our back lawn has tables and chairs facing the ocean. It is the perfect place to take in all the beach atmosphere without getting sandy.
