About this property

Leonard’s Log Cabin— Mt. Snow/Stratton Ski House

Our cabin is located midway between Stratton Mountain and Mt Snow, and has easy access to the VAST snowmobile trails. The cabin has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The open-concept living room and kitchen is a great place to relax with friends and family after a day on the slopes. A second living room, in the basement, is a great place for the kids to hang out.

The cabin also has a recently remodeled 3-season porch and big back deck that overlooks a large flat yard that is perfect for lawn games when the weather is nice. There is also a hot tub that is private for cabin guests.

There are fun activities to keep you entertained in southern Vermont all year-round! Some of our favorites include:

Winter: Skiing!!!!! You have your choice between several great ski slopes including: Mount Snow (8 miles), Stratton Mountain (11 miles), Bromley Mountain (23 miles), and Okemo Mountain (40 miles). For those who don’t downhill ski, there are also great x-country ski and snowshoe trails located just down the road at Somerset Reservoir and Grout Pond. Other fun winter activities include snowmobile tours, ice-skating, tubing, and sledding.

Summer: Hiking, bicycling, camping and picnicking in the Green Mountain National Forest. Swimming and fishing at Harriman Reservoir or Somerset Reservoir—additionally, jet skis, kayaks, canoes, aluminum fishing boats and more, can be rented by the day on Harriman Reservoir. Golfing, white water rafting, and horseback riding.

Spring/Fall Activities: Fall foliage and leaf peeping tours, covered bridge tours, sugarhouse tours, Horseback riding, hiking, bicycling, and picnicking.

Fun Anytime: Wineries and breweries, antiquing and shopping, bird watching, outdoor events, markets, and festivals.

If you are looking for a larger cabin, we own another home in the area, check out our other listing-- White Birch Cabin (property #4933780).

Cabin getaway
Beautiful, big cabin in a great location. We loved the fireplace in the back yard and the huge one in the living room! We played Haystack Golf course which is 20 min drive away and explored Wilmington. Snow Republic was a great brewery find down the road. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the hot tub on multiple occasions. Celebrating the end of our busy summer season we could not have found a better spot! Thank you for your hospitality!

Fall Foliage
Visited VT for the first time to view fall foliage and this cabin exceeded expectations. As they say, location, location, location. Easy access to VT 30 and 100 provided excellent opportunities to view the foliage and explore rural towns along the way for day trips.

Beautiful Setting
Quaint little cabin in a beautiful setting! Overall the cabin was everything represented and very comfortable. The only issue with the property is the quality/quantity of necessities expected and needed when renting a VRBO. All the "support" items - pans, knives, utensils, cups, etc - seemed to be a mish-mash of items the owners had used to their life's end in their own home, and then stocked into the cabin. Also there were NO supplies - wrap, aluminum foil, tupperwear, etc. Cute cabin for sure, but you need to hit a Target or Costco and spend about $300 to stock it out - then it would be perfect! PS You should set your lock system to disable with a little cushion (say 30 minutes) on the 11am checkout. We walked out and locked the door then found a coffee cup in our rental car. We tried to return it to the cabin at 11:07am and the lock was disabled.

My husband Mike and I live in Boston, but we love to get away and enjoy the mountains.

Why they chose this property

We love this area because there is something and unique to do every season. Whether it be skiing in winter, hiking in the spring/summer, or leaf-peeping in the fall--Vermont never disappoints.

What makes this property unique

The big deck and flat backyard makes this property just as enticing in the summer as ski season :)
