Bear Necessities has a full Master Suite, private bathroom, walk-in closet, full kitchen, dining area, sectional couch (to watch the 65 inch flat screen television), it’s own XXL private deck and... it’s own entrance and exit! If you need the extra room, let us know when booking so we can accommodate!)

Enjoy the clear starry nights from the deck, leave the windows open and sink into relaxation with the sound of gentle water flow from the creeks bordering the property, or sit back and listen to the the crackling of the fire with a cup of warm goodness. You will be amazed by the quiet sounds of nature in this woodlands paradise. This property backs up to a private nature preserve - ahhh, no road noise, no people, no worries - and you can walk right over from the properties edge to a long ago forgotten - private trail. From this starting point your journey will bring you to the Bald Rock overlook. Breathtaking.

The SafeHouse is part of the Sapphire Valley Resort Master Association and is the ideal location to use as a jump off location for outdoor activities! It is perfect for a guys weekend, a girls weekend, a couples retreat and for families alike. Soak in all this mountain seclusion, while enjoying (...really enjoying) an 8-10 minute drive to the grocery store and even less for a glass of wine and great local dining... there are lots of great restaurants (The Cork and Barrel Lounge, Table 64, Mica's Restaurant & Pub, The Library Kitchen & Bar, Canyon Kitchen, and Danny's BBQ! Downtown Cashiers is about 6 miles away so the choices expand to Winslow's Hideaway, Randevu, Cornucopia, or Slab Town Pizza! Considering that Historic Downtown Highlands is only about 17 miles away... you get the point.

With so much to do at this beautiful cabin and the surrounding area, you’ll have a memorable! All the roads to the house including the driveway are paved, and 4WD is NOT required. Whatever your choice, you will feel like you are a Million miles away from the big city traffic and stress!

THE ACCOMMODATIONS: Perched overlooking two streams, this secluded mountain view home provides sleeping for 2 (for that more intimate get away) or up to 6 for more of the "family style" getaway! Truly a spectacularly quiet place to enjoy time with family and friends. This home has 3 traditional bedrooms and two areas that can be used for a nights slumber or enjoying a simple nap.

The home's main kitchen has stainless steel appliances and granite counters if you decide to stay in and make a meal. The dining room comfortably seats six and the table expands to up to eight. The Living Room features a beautiful wood burning stove against a 30 ft stone - floor to ceiling - wall. There is a butlers pantry that conveniently hosts a hidden stacked washer & dryer, perfect for any such laundry need.

The Master bedroom is located on the main floor, and has a King size Ghostbed Luxe (helps regulate body temperature to sleep like the dead), direct access to the expansive deck, and a private bath with dual sinks, huge windows, walk in shower and jetted tub for soaking after a long day of fun. Sit back and relax, we got this...

Another bedroom - located on the second floor - has a Queen Size Lucid Mattress (the 12 inch Hybrid), a walk in closet, it's own private shower, a single vanity, and it's own private secluded deck over looking the grounds.

The third bedroom could be called a second Master suite. While it has it's own King sized (Tuft & Needle) Mattress and private bathroom, this is no ordinary bedroom, it is more like an apartment all to itself. A not only does this area have a private entrance, it also boasts a private sitting area, extensive private deck, it's own private kitchen (stainless steel appliances) and a coffee bar to keep caffeinated. This private suite makes the Buck Valley property the perfect choice for multiple family outings, trips that include the in-laws, or even for those without kids looking for a little more privacy, while still being able to hang out as a family.

Choose where you want to hangout on the oversized decks or pick the more secluded "Robbins Nest" up on the very top overlooking the grounds below! Sit and eat on any of the decks, or just listen to the water cascading over the rocks below. Great spot to end the day after hiking and seeing the sites.

Its hard to choose the "perfect spot" to relax, but if you bring a good book (or choose from a selection from our shelves) or get the group together and grab a puzzle or a multiplayer game. Game lovers will enjoy our collection of puzzles and games. There is also high-speed wireless internet access, satellite television and a 65 inch TV in the media room to watch your favorite game or Lifetime movie, but who are we kidding... you won't need it.

THE AREA: In the summer months, enjoy water sports at Fairfield Lake, Golfing at the nearby High Hampton Inn, Sapphire National Golf Club or any number of other public courses - all within about 10 miles of Sapphire, NC. There is hiking at Silver Run Falls, Whitewater Falls, Gorges Stat Park, or the beautiful and irresistible Rainbow Falls. In the winter, Sapphire Valley offers skiing, mountain tubing, ziplining, and Snowboarding right at the Sapphire Valley Ski Resort... very kid friendly! A wonderful place to get away. (Note: Sapphire Resort amenities available ($2/adult/day payable to Sapphire Resort).
