Wildlife Viewing Overlooking Sonoma Creek In The Heart Of The Wine Country!

Take in all the Wine Country has to offer from this centrally located cozy apartment overlooking Sonoma Creek! With nearby great wineries, tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops, you'll find lots to enjoy in the area. You can take it all in on the 2 complimentary bicycles parked in the shed!

Guests who book during the winter / rainy season may get a special whitewater treat! Since the Bungalow is overlooking Sonoma Creek, you will enjoy an exciting show if there is a rainstorm, and the rapids get more turbulent! Part of the deck is covered, so you can enjoy a thrill during a rainstorm! (Don't worry, you are safely high above the creek in the ravine below.)

The Bungalow (Sonoma TOT Cert # 1436N ) features a beautiful kitchen, hardwood floors, a cozy gas 'Franklin' stove for cool nights,, and a sumptuous new Beautyrest queen bed and awesome high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. Fast internet, cable and internet-enabled TV let you watch cable TV or stream movies. While the apartment is delightfully furnished (we own a furniture store!), the real attraction is the deck overlooking the creek. From here, you can sit for hours watching the steady stream of wildlife (deer, mostly) as they make their way along the trails along the year-round creek. When the rains start, the creek goes from a lazy creek to a roaring stream - with rapids just a bit past the bungalow, giving great sound effects. The deck features comfortable patio furniture and an optional gas firepit to enjoy a glass of wine around at the end of a busy day!

The Queen bed is a new Beautyrest that is moderately firm. Some have said it is too soft. Some have said its too firm. It is what it is! The bed is covered with an Organic Cotton mattress protector/pad. High thread count Egyptian cotton sheets complete the ensemble. Spare blankets and pillows are in the closet.

The bathroom features a curved glass shower enclosure and a newly tiled shower. We have just added a Bidet Toilet - we tried one at a Vacation Rental ourselves and loved it - so we added one for you to enjoy as well! It features a heated seat and warm water. Heavenly!

While there are so many activities nearby, we expect that at least one of the days of your visit you'll grab a couple of bottles of wine and want to spend the whole day at the cozy Lazy Oak Creekside Bungalow, enjoying the magical surroundings!

The cabin was ideal. The kitchen was well equipped and bright and easy to use. We loved that you could sit at the table and open the kitchen door and look beyond to the creek It was quiet, private and deck was such a nice refuge There were good instructions for use of the place. It was close enough to vetting we wanted to do.

Sonoma Visit

Cute little spot to enjoy some peace and quiet. The patio was wonderful and you could listen to the creek and even get to see some deer walking around from time to time.

Quaint and Quiet

We came to the area for the NASCAR Xfinity race, wineries and to visit family. We loved the downtown area of Sonoma and it’s location for everything we were doing the 5 days we stayed at this bungalow. The deck was private and looked over a small stream. The galley kitchen was very nice and had everything two people needed. Lots of little niceties such as ice packs in the freezer and insulated totes to borrow when out sightseeing. Updated bathroom with corner shower, heated bidet toilet, and a variety of toiletries if needed. This place is small but it is beautifully decorated and we enjoyed our stay.

Perfect accomodation for Two!

Such a perfect little place! Had everything we needed with a bonus oasis outside! I only wish we had more time to enjoy the beauty of the patio, conpletely sets this place apart from other rentals. Very private and comfy cozy! Have already recommended to our friends in the bay area!

Christmas was wonderful

It's near my mom's house on the creek that I used to play in as a boy. Each morning we watched the deer grazing from the back deck and then headed to moms house. It was very cozy and warm through the storm and I love continuous hot water.

Great place and location!

We really enjoyed our stay, clean, efficient space with a modern, retro feel. The deck is fantastic with a few of Sonoma creek below. We had a daily visit by deer just below the deck. The area is quiet and close to everything that the city of Sonoma has to offer.

Lovely sister getaway

My sister and I had a lovely getaway to Sonoma. The property is clean and has a fantastic view of the aviary center beyond. A quick drive downtown for dinner, tastings, etc. We recommend staying in this quaint home for a quick weekend getaway on a budget!

Cute place with bikes!

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was as advertised and the bikes were an awesome addition for us to use to bike into downtown Sonoma. Kitchen could use some more accessories and cooking utensils, but we perhaps cooked much more than typical. Check in and check out was straight forward and easy.

Very cozy and comfortable

We spent three nights to visit wine country. Found everything clean and welcoming. Had to purchase coffee and did not know the fire pit was an extra (though nominal) charge. Chilly nights but warmed up quickly with cute little Franklin stove. Bidet was fun;). Would recommend!

Wedding and wine

The bungalow was perfect for a “home base” as I attending wedding festivities last weekend. I took a little extra time to enjoy Sonoma, and I am so glad that I did. The location is perfect, and the bungalow itself is very comfortable. The back deck is amazing for winding down and enjoying a bit of natural peace.

A lovely serene escape while close to everything

We had a wonderful stay, and really enjoyed the sound of the creek from the deck. We were visiting during a crazy heat wave, so did not utilize the bikes but it is a great area to cruise around on a bicycle. There was an amazing taco truck about 15 minute walk away. The cottage is located a tad off the beaten path, which we love because we are able to experience the local scene . We hope to stay here again, maybe in the winter to experience a different stage of natural surroundings.

Great place for a getaway or wine country visit

My wife and I spent a few enjoyable days at this property. The unit is clean and as described. The kitchen is well equipped and includes basic condiments. Location is in a quiet neighborhood backing into a pretty big stream, and we saw plenty of birds and a few deer. Also convenient to Sonoma town, Napa, Redwood National Forest and the coast. Hosts are easy to communicate with. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Creekside Bungalow

Perfect little bungalow tucked back on a property right on the creek. Has its own deck with seating. The rushing water was so relaxing to listen to! Appliances could use a little update, but they work, so that’s all that matters. Wood floors are creaky.in places, and you can hear the people in bungalow 3 walking around - this didn’t bother us much at all, I just hope we didn’t bother them!!! Overall this place was perfect for what we were looking for. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

Stay here for the peace & bucolic view 🌿

Beautiful location - easy check-in, adorable cottage! I would stay here simply to sit on the back deck… sweet little creek bubbling by, serene view, great trees & bird watching. The cottage has everything you need - the shower could use a refresh - it looked like it had been damaged & patched back together. As they mention on the website - the mattress isn’t for everyone,& it was tooo hard for us… It would have been nice to have extra pillows available - we drove to Napa to buy an extra one. All in all it was a positive experience - & we enjoyed our stay :-)

Nice and quaint but had issues

We enjoyed our stay. We had a couple of issues that were dealt with quickly after a message to the host. The place is cozy, perfect for 2 people and no more than that. I enjoyed sitting outside by the creek in mornings and evenings. It was nice and peaceful. The unit had basic necessities. However, if you're a coffee drinker, make sure to bring your own coffee.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property because we took one look at the last (creekside) unit of this 4-unit (2 duplexes) property, and realized it was a gem we needed to share! The first 3 units are home to people who have lived in the apartments for a long time. The last unit on the creek is very secluded and quiet, and offers incredible creek views and unparalleled wildlife viewing.

What makes this property unique

In the shade of the big oak tree near the rear of the property (hence: Lazy Oak), the large tree provides an idyllic environment for enjoying the wine country. The apartment is tastefully furnished and secluded. The outdoor spaces are oriented for maximum enjoyment of their creekside frontage. Patio furniture and firepit are provided for your enjoyment of the outdoors. The Creek babbles in the summer, and can roar in the winter. The constant presence of deer, squirrels, birds, and other wildlife in the riparian means you can lose yourself for hours watching as the animals traverse through the trails.
