This property was perfect for our stay. The kitchen was very adequately appointed. The deck provided comfortable seating. We felt like we were the only people in Ruidoso.
We have stayed here before and we got the same good vibes this time Great location close to town yet you get the sense of being out in the great outdoors. The place itself is very nice and well equipped We will be back in the future
The location, wildlife and accommodations are ideal for a family wishing to reconnect and have their pets with them. We really enjoyed our stay and were able to reconnect as a family. We. Loved seeing all the wildlife around.
We would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to anyone. It was exactly as described and in a quiet location close to town with beautiful views. We even walked to town every day. The place was also very clean and had anything we could have needed for our stay.
This house waa beautiful. The property is in a beautiful location. Easy to drive downtown even wakable. Check in was easy. Definitely stay here again. Suoer clean.
The property was exactly as advertised. Clean, in good shape. Location close to grocery and other local shopping. Overall a very enjoyable experience for my wife and. We would happily stay here again. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay at Lewis Lodge. House was very clean, the king bed was very comfortable, the porches were nice to sit out & enjoy the fresh air. Got to see deer & wild horses from porch!
Kitchen was well equipped.
House had everything we needed.
Nicely appointed accommodations. Little difficult to find initially. Very private with all the necessities of home. Short distance from stores and restaurants but still tucked away. Hilly location for parking but manageable. Wildlife everywh
Little gem of a place and loved the gas fireplace. Just a couple of things, the driveway is super steep and right at a curve so difficult to back in. I don’t know that you could get in and out during snow season. There were only 4 small spoons. Would be nice to have a good silverware set and knife set (knives were dull). Would be great if pillow top mattresses were put on the beds. What they have are old and very smooshy. No overhead lights in bedrooms so a bit dark with only 2 lamps. No dishwashing soap, no laundry detergent, and no soap/shampoo/cream rinse samples. Usually the vrbro’s I’ve stayed at have all that. Decks were wonderful to sit on. Deer and wild horses came through the property. Super comfy coaches and plenty of seating if you have 5 or 6 people staying. The drive into town is 7 mins - that was nice. The owner/manager was lovely. Casa Blanca had great mexican food and awesome margaritas. Make sure to reserve a table if you’re going to Michael J’s Italian. Great little hidden pottery shop NEXT TO Earth and Stone Pottery. Gave it 5 star because it was lovely to flop out on comfy couches in front of the fire and watch football after a big day of hiking.

The home was very dusty
The house was in a great location. It had been well taken care of but you need to get your maid service to do a thorough dusting of the home.

We thank you for your feedback. We take great pride in the cleanliness (as you can read in most reviews), but there are times when dust can get the best of us. As you mentioned, we did address the dust on the ceiling fan & fireplace. This is how we keep our guests happy and hope you return to see the detail. Thank you again.

Weekend Getaway
Growing up in El Paso, I spent many summers in Ruidoso. Now, living in Houston, I miss it in every way. On my most recent trip, I decided to nix the hotel route, and looked on VRBO, where I found this lovely cabin. It is beautiful and was perfect. Aside from its great location and having everything we needed, Mike and Monica were the perfect hosts. I'll be coming back!

We greatly appreciate your great review. Please let us know when you plan to return and we would be glad to offer you a discount! Thank you.
Beautiful place to have an escape from the city. 15 min max from the convenience stores which is important. I definitely go back soon.
The only thing that we found and is not bad, is that the beds need a new mattress. Everything else was perfect.

Great mountain vacation
Great house. My daughter loved sleeping in the loft. Great location, not far from town; however, it has the remote feel. Mule deer came up every morning and night. Ate apples right from my daughter's hand. Huge elk visited us as well. The covered back deck is excellent for when it rains. Only issue was the steep driveway. My rear wheel truck couldn't get out, tires kept spinning in gravel. However, there is a flat parking spot at top. 100% recommend this property.

Thank you for the time you took to leave a great review. We greatly appreciate it. The gravel can get loose from the street when there is rainfall and flows into the driveway as it is at a decline. We have since gotten in touch with the city to place a berm to block the street gravel when there is heavy rain. We always appreciate feedback and thank you for staying!
My husband and I really enjoyed staying in this cabin for a week in August. We sat on the back porch with coffee and the hummingbirds in the morning and on the front porch, for the sunrise, and every evening. The living room was spacious with leather furniture and throws for chilly evenings and the air conditioning was welcome on a couple of warm days. The king bed was very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped for our needs, and the bathroom worked well for us with plenty of hot water and water pressure. The driveway is a little tricky so we decided to park in the space up top and walk up and down the nice steps beside the driveway. We enjoyed the town and all the scenery in every direction we drove. The location is convenient and quiet with greenery all around. We would definitely stay here again!

The property is explained well in the description. However, we did have trouble getting into the property. Michael called us but it took about 10 min or so. The fire place is gas and did not work. The shower curtain rod fell down and come to find out it was duct taped so the expandable rod didn't work.
I don't care about the curtain rod although it was a pain and was put back up. I did rent the cabin specifically for the fire place and that didn't work. So over all not a bad place. It was nice and clean.

Shannon took good care of our home during her stay. We would like to address some of the points of their review. When key pad code was set up, code was accidentally not inputted correctly. We saw the alert and immediately called our guest to correct the issue, the door was opened immediately and called to confirm.
In staying in any vacation rental or hotel, communication is key when an issue arises. During this guest stay we did not receive one call to assist in addressing the issues the guest stated in the review. We could have easily explained or assisted in troubleshooting the fireplace as well as the rod in the bathroom. We had the fireplace checked after the guest stay and was told fireplace was working properly and just needed to be troubleshooted to get lit. We had another booking after this guest and we were told there was no issue with the fireplace as it was working properly.
We always ask our guest to please call us for any questions as we are always available for our guest. We pride ourselves on our commutation with our guest and the cleanliness of our home, as this guest stated in the review.

Clean, not impressed.
Could not get into the cabin as the code would not work. The driveway to the house is very steep getting in or out was a headache to say the least. The cleaning fee of $150 is outrageous considering they want you to take the trash out and put towels away... not a big deal but we got charged so they can wash the sheets pretty much. Overall the cabin is in a good clean condition but the fees, conditions and the driveway made me not want to repeat business.

We regret you were not impressed, but pleased with your appreciation for the cleanliness.
Excuse the inconvenience of your door code not working upon initial attempt. Upon receipt of your phone call, you entered the home immediately. It was a matter of resetting the alarm system. Please note that you actually had an early check-in of 1:30 pm as our standard check-in time is 4pm.
The profile states that the driveway is at a decline. We will definitely add a photo for future guests, thank you.
We ask that each guest remove the kitchen trash from the home upon departure in the event of a delay in housekeeping (they don't necessarily arrive immediately after check out). This prevents kitchen food from sitting stagnant in the home or being thrown by wildlife if left outside. Due to the forrest terrain, Ruidoso does not have a trash service that picks up trash at individual homes. Trash is only picked up at community dumpsters, which are located on every street. We regret your dissatisfaction about the issues above & thank you for sharing. We believe that reviews provide good feedback & opportunity for communication, but the remaining issues are incorrect. The cleaning fee is $95 & you do not have to put the towels away. Housekeeping launders all towels. As you mentioned, the home was clean as we take great pride in its cleanliness. The $95 fee includes washing of linens, towels & rugs, cleaning & disinfecting of the bathroom, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, windows, disinfecting all areas to include refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee machine, tables & chairs, doorknobs, remote controls & light switches. This fee is typical for most cleaning services in Ruidoso, especially for the amount of detail. Please feel free to compare cleaning fees amongst different homes in Ruidoso & you may be surprised to see they are very similar. Again, we regret your dissatisfaction & thank you for staying.

We enjoy the serenity of the forrest, yet exploring the land of enchantment. From golf, fishing, hiking, skiing, tubing, to shopping, the fun never ends. Local casino's, Irish pub with live music or racetrack are great for an adult getaway or miniature golf and horse back riding with the kids! Great restaurants and shopping. If we are not in the mood for entertainment, nothing beats sitting on one of two of the decks grilling, enjoying the sounds of the season creek.
Why they chose this property
We want this to be your recurrent Ruidoso getaway. Making you feel at home is our goal, which is why we have placed every piece of decor, from the decorative pillows to the kitchen utensils, in our cabin for your use and convenience. Our goal is to have you enjoy our place as much as we do! This life is not a trial run. Do things and stay in places that are worth every minute.
