Come for a simple, peaceful excursion in the lush Kaimai ranges
Hoatu Kaimua Lodge rests quietly in the heart of lush Kaimai Ranges. Our 14 bunk beds and two double guest rooms (sleeps 30) are perfect for group bookings. A large commercial kitchen, open & spacious living room, open log fire, cover deck, and skylighted courtyard make up this rustic space that's full of surprises: walk along the awa (river) to discover a sweet wee waterfall and natural plunge pool, enjoy a bonfire at the firepit, reflect and take time out in the little prayer cabin, or see local glow worms light up their grotto that is just a couple of minutes walk from the dorms.
What makes our place unique is that the serene and peaceful Kaimai ngahere (bush) is our backyard - a great spot to come and relax. Our main neighbours are a herd of sheep that sometimes occupy the front paddocks. We are surrounded by lush, green, beautiful areas to explore all around us. It's a great hideaway! We are also close enough to town that it is easy to check out amazing sights in both Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, and Matamata. Away from the crowds makes for a relaxing holiday hideaway and unplugged from wifi currently, its the perfect space for real connection with each other and nature.
Perhaps you need a little oasis where you can stay and relax for a week or so. Maybe you need a weekend away with your whanau or friends, or a space for a prayer retreat. We cater to larger groups, and especially love family gatherings, sports teams, church retreats, staff trainings, or those wanting to hike in the forest. We have accommodation for up to 30 people, our normal minimum for booking's is 20 people but do contact us directly via our website if you have less than that and we can see if our place will suit your group. We cannot wait to meet you!
