Welcome to Wishing Whale by KEES Vacations!

Located in the famous Whalehead Club, enjoy the rich history of this stretch of the Outer Banks while vacationing at the Wishing Whale. This freshly remodeled, pet-friendly home on a huge grassy lot is just a few short steps from the coveted Corolla beaches. Spend some time on the sandy shores of this famous stretch of beach. Relax in your beach chair with your toes in the sand, soaking up the Vitamin D or catching up on the latest mystery novel. Or charge right into the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and enjoy some body surfing or boogie boarding along with the kids. Maybe even take an early morning walk along the shoreline to hunt for that perfect shell or an exquisite piece of beach glass.

The open deck and screened porch at Wishing Whale provide plenty of opportunity to enjoy Mother Nature's gifts. Sip your morning coffee while watching the sun rise. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck as the day winds down. Spend the clear, starry nights in the hot tub as the warmth soothes your worries away. The large windows welcome you to the great room. Here you will find a large living area with seating for 7. Pop a bag of popcorn and pile up together to watch your favorite TV show or the latest blockbuster movie together.

The dining area with a lovely wood accent wall invites the entire group to sit down and enjoy a meal together. Open the sliding glass door to the screened porch and let the Outer Banks breeze blow through. The fully equipped kitchen has everything needed to prepare anything from a simple snack to a full meal with its efficient design and plentiful workspace. The lovely open great room promotes a wonderful flow of conversation where everyone is included!! This level also features 3 Queen bedrooms and 2 full baths. Downstairs, you will find a mini-kitchen with plenty of cabinetry, full-size refrigerator, sink and microwave. A bedroom with 2 Queen beds and connecting full bath, a room with a Queen bed and a Twin bunk, and a game room provide the perfect hideaway for the kids in the family (or at least the kids at heart!).

Wishing Whale is just moments from all the restaurants and shopping that you love while still maintaining a private feel. It's just what you've wished for!

Outside of the home, this property has 6 parking spots for guests, an outdoor shower to cool off, and a charcoal park grill.

**Pools and hot tubs are cleaned weekly and no later than 6 p.m. on check-in day. Vendors are subject to enter backyard to clean the pool and/or spa on scheduled cleaning days.**

**Wishing Whale is pet-friendly, so there is no need to leave your pooch at home! For a small one-time fee of $135, you can bring up to two dogs to our pet-friendly property. No cats or other animals, dogs only.**

Check-In begins at 4pm. Your keyless entry code will begin granting access at this time.

Comfortable house

The house was as nice size and plenty of room. The only thing I would suggest is to have ceiling fans added into two of the bedrooms on the top floor. Although the rooms are smaller, the circulation from the air vents is low, causing the rooms to be warm and stuffy at night. Other than that the house was clean and comfortable.

Whalehead didn’t disappoint.

The home and the process of checking was great. We had all cooking utensils, Tupperware and accessories we needed. My only points to address is some noticeable rusting and vents that need cleaning, the fan/light in one of the upstairs bedrooms was wobbly, and the front door area outside needed cleaning/washing as cobwebs were all around. Lastly, the screen door at the front door didn’t close for us to lock. All fixable things and not a deal breaker. Kees is definitely on my list to rent through again.

Great location, could be cleaner!

This property is exactly how it looked in the pictures. The beds were comfy, plenty of room for a family of 6, great deck space. That being said, the kitchen was gross. The table, island, countertops and cupboards were greasy and sticky. We had to buy disinfectant to clean before we were comfortable using anything. Many of the dishes, pots and pans were dirty. We washed everything before using it. There were no kitchen towels or dish cloths- had to buy those as well. More bathroom towels would be helpful. Short walk to the beach was great! Loved the ocean. A dining table on the deck would be great. The back yard was unusable as there were thorny pickers in the grass. While we liked the Outer Banks, we would not stay at this rental again.

The house is close to the beach

The property was fine. It’s not big or fancy. There were few additional amenities and the house is outdated compared to the neighborhood. But it’s an easy walk to the beach with a family and the price was low.

Location was excellent Property management not as good

This is our first time staying in a rental with a property management company. I can’t say that it was a good one. The beds were not made upon arrival. There was no counter cleaner or anything to keep the house clean. When we arrived there were extra linens out on the front step when I message management company they said it’s probably for us extra linens. These linens have been sitting outside for weeks they were full of cobwebs, dirt and cocoons. I brought them in the house never use them . The front yard was mowed the backyard was not. The house was lovely location was great.
