Highlands on Homestead -Tranquil rural property only minutes from town

Spacious comfortable and tasteful modern unit with privacy, a delightful garden and decks facing the sun. The cabin is equipped with microwave, stove top, toaster and kettle to prepare a simple meal. Outdoor seating is available. A detached 2nd cabin with queen bed available (see photo in listing) fees apply (Please let me know if the 2nd room is required) Come say hello to our beautiful Highland cows and alpacas. Enjoy a walk through our extensive gardens or sit and relax next to our running stream. Your well behaved, house trained pup is also welcome to stay. Only 7km from the Blue Penguin Colony, Steampunk HQ and Victorian Precinct. A2O cyclist very welcome.

Winter get away

Has everything you need, including iron/ ironing board. Bfast items offered. We were able to bring our labrador. Lovely spot.

Jenny was great! She let me feed the animals and brought me a taste of local New Zealand fruit grown in her own backyard. The shower water pressure / heat is amazing! Such a relaxing visit and loved checking out Oamaru!

Attention to detail added to the pleasure of our stay. The space is thoughtfully decorated and use of the kitchen space is maximized by providing a hot plate and toaster that can be switched out for meal preparation. The property is beautiful and we were welcome to walk out to the pastures and see the animals. Everything was spotlessly clean and supplies for breakfast were greatly appreciated. Both Grace and Andrew were welcoming.

Beautiful wee room with a patio and small private garden in a lovely location just outside Oamaru. Highly recommended. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Peaceful country retreat

Surrounded by flower gardens and rolling hills this beautiful little country retreat was the perfect base for my Father and I as we explored our family roots in Oamaru/Waitaki. A short drive into town, but it felt like our own little world. Accomodation was spotless, an extra room/cabin (Lamb Inn) was made available to us so plenty of space for a family & Jenny made us feel most welcome.

Lovely accommodation in idyllic farm setting

What a wonderful stay we had at this property! The hosts, Jenny and Andrew, made sure the unit was very clean and well-organized with all the amenities we could possibly need. The gardens and creek surrounding the home are gorgeous. My three year old son had the opportunity to feed the farm animals with Andrew which was a highlight for him. Thank you for a fantastic night in the Oamaru area!

Fantastic!!

My husband and I stayed overnight for a weekend getaway and were really impressed! Lovely cold water and orange juice in the fridge. Everything was thought of even bread, spreads, milk, butter and even tomato sauce! Peaceful, beautifully laid out, warm and cozy and a lovely hostess! Cute animals galore had the best nights sleep in ages! Thank you for a wonderful refreshing weekend retreat!

Stay for the shaggy cows

Lovely private spot and gorgeous garden. Adorable animals. Jenny is very friendly and accommodating. Cottage has everything you could possibly need and more. Close to town but very rural and idyllic.

Gem in the whitestone of Oamaru

Fantastic hosts, friendly, helpful and lovely to chat with. A beautiful spot for relaxing and chilling out. The Whitestone Cheese Company is in town and the colony of blue penguins are worth seeing! Highly recommend this highland homestead stay!

Lovely Place to Have a Rest

Convenience of Oamaru but only 5 minutes away and your staying in a beautifully peaceful place. The accomodation was really comfortable. The decking was a nice place to sit and enjoy the peace and unwind. The A2O cycle track isn't too far away.
