This beautiful 170 year old Shell House private estate is surrounded by 500 hundred year registered old oak trees that sits on three acres. The Gulf Of Mexico is your private beach and its right out your front door. Restaurants, fishing, sailing, a lighted pool and a lighted croquet field is out your back door along with an outdoor kitchen and fire pit that accommodates 24. You're minutes away from the casinos and an hour away from either New Orleans or Mobile, AL. " Mardi Gras Parades" and "Cruising The Coast" along with fishing and sailing excursions are just some of the fun near by. The Pool House sleeps 6 . There is an additional Bungalow that sleeps 4.

Very unique place

This place is wonderful and you will not want for things to do. It rained during our whole stay so we were not able to use the pool but indoors there was every board game and magazine imaginable.With all the furniture it was a little crowded.

Thanksgiving 2024!

My sister, brother-in-law and I stayed at the Shell House for Thanksgiving this year but also to have a small memorial for my mom who passed away in August. It was the perfect place to be together and remember her and celebrate her favorite place be, the MS Gulf Coast, where she grew up. The place has everything and even though the setting is perfect, and the decor is just beautiful, it has a feeling of "home" and that is what we miss the most about our mama. Highly recommend this place and it was warm enough that we could sit outside by the pool and walk to the beach, too. You'll want for nothing here! We cooked our Thanksgiving meal in the kitchen, which has everything you need! The hostess, Lydia, was wonderful! Her family & friends were coming and going to celebrate the holiday, but you didn't even know they were there because the place has so much room. PERFECTION! We'll definitely be back!

Relaxing and historic home on a very private beach front

Beautiful property, hundred-year old Live Oak trees surrounding yard. Living history all thru the poolhouse accomodations, and owner shared some of the origins of home.

Fun, unique rental

We stopped here for 2 nights during a trip along the gulf coast. It’s a lovely, spacious unit with lots of amenities and extensive grounds. We cooked and relaxed and had a great restful stay.

Beautiful and peaceful vacation

We loved the pool house! The property and pool house itself were amazing. There was so much to do and see, but it was also such a relaxing atmosphere! It was honestly dreamy. Lydia provided so many things that we definitely could’ve packed much lighter. We felt very welcome and would absolutely stay here again!
