The 4 star holiday house 'Antonia' is not far from the Werra Cycle Path. Well-signposted bike paths invite you to take a bike tour. The cherry hiking trail tells everything about the cherry. Canoeing on the Werra. Fun for the whole family. Brewery tour in the Witzenhausen private brewery. Festivals in Witzenhausen: Kesper fair and old town festival always on the 2nd July weekend of the year or Thanksgiving and local festival on the penultimate weekend in August.
The cherry and university town of Witzenhausen is charmingly embedded in the romantic Werra valley and is the center of one of the largest and oldest cherry growing regions in Germany. The attractive old town with its valuable half-timbered buildings testifies to medieval culture and architecture. In Witzenhausen it was possible to preserve the old and open up to the new.
Here is our beautiful apartment, which offers 80 m² of space for 1-5 people. 2 separate bedrooms, a bedroom with two single beds, comfort equipment, a living area, a flat-screen TV with Sky, sports, Bundesliga, films and WiFi (free of charge), a fully equipped kitchen, a terrace with barbecue facilities and a own parking space at the house complete the offer.
The Werra Valley Cycle Path is not far from the apartment. Well-signposted paths invite you to enjoy beautiful tours. The cherry hiking trail tells everything about the cherry. Canoeing on the Werra or a tour of the brewery in the Witzenhausen private brewery is also popular. Visitors can also find a wide range of sports, fun and fitness in Witzenhausen. a. in the mineral water outdoor pool, tennis, squash, horse riding, bowling, mini golf or gliding. When you stop in one of the numerous, well-kept restaurants, you will definitely enjoy the sour cherry pork.
The symbol of the city, the cherry, has determined the course of the year for more than a century and a half. The cherry blossom is also a special experience for visitors to Witzenhausen Week, especially when hiking on the specially designated cherry blossom trails. For the cherry harvest, the big cherry and old town festival takes place on the second weekend in July. Many visitors flock to the town at the Kesperkirmes (dialectically kesper = cherry) to greet the newly crowned cherry queen in addition to the festivities or to take part in the championships in 'cherry stone spitting'. In addition to the cherry, the name Witzenhausen is closely linked worldwide to that of the university, its sights and the like. a. also the greenhouse for tropical and subtropical crops belongs.
