About this property
A delightful riverside house -comfortable and stylish - in Urunga
Everyone loves staying at our comfortable and stylish house, Januce, on the river. We have 5 star reviews. Januce is the perfect place to holiday or work from home. Private, with a huge deck looking over the river, comfortable, fast broadband, Netflix, leather couches, comfy beds, air-con, books, games, barb q, full kitchen.
Januce is about relaxing. Fishing from the yard, reading a book on the deck, a glass of wine, walks, beaches, drives in the country, canoeing, visiting local places.
Come and spoil yourself.
Be surprised! This 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home opens directly onto the Kalang River. The large high ceiling deck is your private viewing platform for watching river life. You can fish or get mud crabs from the back yard.
Januce has 3 comfortable bedrooms - a queen bed with a luxurious en-suite bathroom, a double bedroom plus 2 single beds in the third room and a main bathroom with a full bath.
Situated on an island with a wooden bridge to the mainland. Yet only 3 traffic free klm to the restaurants and cafes in town, the Lido (safe and fun kid swimming) and the famous Boardwalk. It is 4km to the surf beach and a delightful 12 mins country drive to food & music at Bellingen (Bello) or 20 minutes to Coffs Harbour (shopping, airport, major hospital). Januce is well located for holiday adventures. There are no houses on the opposite bank to spoil the view, just the birds, bush and a few cows.
Urunga is an undiscovered seaside village of about 3,000 people situated where the Kalang and Bellinger Rivers meet the sea.
In town is a medical centre, chemist, several excellent cafes and restaurants, 2 clubs, golf, tennis courts, a museum, art gallery and 2 mini market stores.
A must do is the boardwalk, 850 m to the river mouth and beach, many locals walk this every day
As this home opens directly onto the river young children should be supervised.
Nearby are canoe hire, a winery and restaurant, inland tours, fishing tours, golf, swimming in freshwater rivers, waterfalls, go-karts, markets, surfing lessons, sailing lessons, exercise classes, art galleries, and lots of live music and great restaurants. There is a book at Januce with all the contact details.

About the host
Hosted by Bruce Miller
Janette and Bruce came to Urunga from the big city and fell in love with this sleepy village and the friendly locals. The peaceful lifestyle, beaches, fishing, paddling, boating and exploring small nearby towns suited our outdoor lifestyle and we are glad to share this relaxing paradise with you. We don't miss the traffic, noise and speed of the city life, everything we need is here or nearby. This is our dream home, we are just away from it for a little while.
Why they chose this property
Janette had a dream of living by a river, and when we saw this property, which needed renovation, we both saw the same vision and decided on the spot. When we used to go camping we would look for a location like this for our tent. Now we live there.
What makes this property unique
Staying at Januce is a very peaceful and relaxing yet luxurious and pampering experience.
